reading all this the only thought in my mind is what the FUCK did Kojima do???
Like TheGoodDoctorF said, I imagine it's the sheer profit risk. Overly-expensive clothing lines? Massive budget poured into Fox Engine, Metal Gear Solid V, and Silent Hills? Top voice actors / actors around like Keifer Sutherland and Norman Reedus? It's practically begging to hemorrhage money, something companies like Konami are really paranoid about.
I just really hope that Kojima got too arrogant with Konami execs so they're doing this to remind him of his place then they stop all this and uncancel silent hills once he apologizes and everything goes back to normal. I think the reason they're keeping everything so secret and not giving away too much information is it's easier for everything to go back to normal. People are speculating a lot but nobody knows anything
I don't think Kojima would apologize if that was the case, justified or not.
You know what? I'm not even going to pretend this whole wild adventure makes sense anymore: Konami has delisted itself from the New York Stock Exchange.

EDIT: This is apparently actually their slot machines and gambling crap division. Everything is confusing and I'm tired.
I'm really interested to see what Kojima will do after September. If he can get another development studio up and running that'd be great, but the costs and hassle might be more than what he wants to deal with. It took him decades to get where he is now, and he's getting on in years, so he might just retire.
I don't think Kojima's done anything wrong. It's probably just the publishers being dicks.
After MGSV, he'll probably either retire, or move on to a new project of some sorts (either published under another publisher or through kickstarter and his own money)
He might move on to another project, but I don't think he's ever going to work on a project with as large a budget as MGS5 again.
Might not be a bad thing, though.
considering all the shit that's been coming out of konami recently, I doubt it's Kojima's fault
Get ready for the next Silent Hill to be farmed out to another unknown western developer that fucks it in the mouth some more.
From what I understand from a friend (who applied to be apart of the team because he loves Kojima), the problem that may have broke the camel's back was Silent Hills- apparently Kojima took it under his production title in secret, because Konami believed his idea to be too extreme (aka would cost a lot of money for something they didn't think they'd get back). Presumably when he announced Del Toro and Norman to be working on it, Konami saw it as hemmoraging money and worked to fix it. I'm sad that SH won't see the light of day, but on the other hand I don't think Kojima had the right to keep the parent company in the dark.

This makes sense as well.

I know your friend would want to remain anonymous, but how would he know all of that only by applying for the team?
All of this makes me a little concerned for the LA team working on MGO 3. I got a feeling they will end up being disbanded come post Phantom Pain release.l, and that wont be beneficial for the game.
This crossed my mind a while ago because one of the environmental artists just left to join Infinity Ward a few days ago, for all we know he could be thinking ahead of tine.

Infinity Ward is a secure place to work at as Activision will most likely not close any of its studios working on shovelware titles.

I SWEAR TO FUCKING GOD, I WILL RIP OFF MY EAR SO YOU CAN'T CALL ME EVER AGAIN ROSE!
Rose is one of the best parts of MGS2 she just makes the game so much funnier. They send a guy on a top secret mission with absolutely no room for error and they make his girlfriend his operator and she is completely unprofessional and distracts him all the time
i cant get over how weird the technique the boss uses to choke out paz in gz is, its like he just holds his shoulders until he falls asleep

[sp]WHATEVER[/sp]
probably optimistic here but does anyone in the UK know where to buy the Collector's Edition of MGSV? both Amazon and GAME are sold out :(

Don't forget about the vampire, the bullet impervious lady, the fat bomber that drinks wine through a silly straw and 26 giant robots inside a giant warship.

It's called a cross collar choke, it's a judo move:

legit technique only that he does it bringing chico's shoulders together. I guess it works because he's tinier.

I think the concept's a lot better on paper, when you put it like that. In the game I think she's just plain irksome, I've never really liked her or laughed at the whole situation.
