I get the awful feeling Frank isn't going to be as close to the plot as he ought to be. Of all the characters across the entire series he is most deserving of fleshing out. The hints to his past and the amount of pain he has suffered is almost more than anything BB has had thrown at him.
No real family. Nowhere to call home. Living a lie with Naomi. Always just following orders never truly exhibiting self-control. Tortured, lost limbs/facial features.
He embodies almost everything this game seems to be exploring so it would be a catastrophic oversight if he weren't heavily involved.
IIRC, Solid Snake and Gray Fox are Kojima's favorite characters in the series, so I wouldn't be too surprised if we do see Frank in the game.
I think since MGSV is going to be Kojima's final adveture he'll pull full stops. I have complete confidence Jaeger will show up.
hell, if he's giving us young Liquid, Fox has a chance
Well details then, at least from someone who is playing the game. Don't shoot the messenger, man.
It's not details from someone playing the game, it's just a collection of information that was reported by several different journalists.
One article someone posted earlier had all this stuff in it.
I said it before, but apparently Otacon's already born by 1980, and the implications that his birth mother is british has its own undertones given dialogue in Peace Walker and Huey's return. We'll probably get more than just references and even hear referrals to a baby Hal.
Oh fuck yes, I managed to grab a poster of MGSV Ground Zeroes for around 12 bucks, its in great quality and is pretty big.

Though it doesn't have "A Hideo Kojima Game", which is a bit disappointing.

Apart from the fact that it's good song, and that he's using popular songs from that time instead of just made up ones, nothing really.
Well, I guess the fact that big boss was always obsessed with the boss and her patriotism to america and all, and how child soldiers can be a big part of the game.
Welp, apparently superbunnyhop's "Kojima vs Konami" was taken down with a copyright strike. Congrats Konami, you've given the rumors posted in that video more credence than the video ever could.
I'm not sure if anyone mentioned this yet, but that video is back up.
Konami's copyright strike was denied.

Yeah, my thing is that it helps flesh out the world and make it feel more real. Which is awesome.
I'd rather have Gray Fox be a young DD recruit, like maybe 17 or 18.
He'd be a relatively minor character, and you don't know who he is until you see him covered in blood and feeding a young Naomi some of his rations.

Oh I so want that now

Gray Fox was born in the 1950's, he'd be at least 25~ in 1984. If the main story puts you to Mozambique. There's a big chance we will see Frankie, now either he'll be hostile or not is something up to debate.
I can see a boss fight occurring.

That's assuming his appearance in PO is canon, which I hope it isn't. I really can't picture him being 53 in MGS1.
I've always assumed that Gray Fox was about 5-6 years older than Snake in MGS1, so I assume he'd be a teenager or early twenties age in TPP.

"Even Konami couldn't get a copyright takedown right" -Jim Sterling
I'm so glad they kept it up, taking it down permanently would be pretty damn evil.
So I can pet DD for affinity... Kojima how do we get affinity for Quiet?

You pet her as well. Pettings for everyone.

I want Ocelot to purr when I pet him

It's pretty obvious isn't it?
also, Kojima posted this on twitter.
Big Boss wasn't even around when that happened though.
Orphan Naomi was in Mozambique well after she first met Gray Fox, when she finally met him and they both went back to the field.
There could be so many cameos in this game.
We're talking about Metal Gear.
Stuff gets retconned all the time. Entire backstories get retconned (Miller's ancestry and appearance, characters' accents, TX-55 being the first Metal Gear, etc.)
Just finished MGR, I had gotten stuck on the 4th level on the elevator bit and hadn't played in forever. Sat down, got past that part in one go (I always find that happens, if I get stuck and don't play a game for a while, when I come back I beat that part in one go) and then finished the game.
That was great.
[editline]13th May 2015[/editline]
Though, I am sorta glad I got stuck and didn't finish it until after having played all the MGS games, because honestly all the stuff about the Patriots and everything made sense having all that background.
I wonder if it was Kojima's decision to release Ground Zeroes and Phantom Pain separately or if it was Konami's decision. With how scummy Konami's been acting lately it wouldn't suprise me if it was the latter.
We already know it was Konami's decision. Ground Zeroes was originally the opening for The Phantom Pain.
At least its looking like MGS5 is still gonna be great. Super stoked for this.
Considering how long it's taken for TPP to come out, I honestly don't mind selling Ground Zeroes separately.
Not for that price, mind you. It should have been $20 physical, $10 digital. No more than that.
Alright, I think I'm going to skip Peace Walker. These boss fights are really dragging on and I kinda just want to get to Ground Zeroes. I already know that [sp]Paz is a double crosser,[/sp] is there anything else I need to know?
you're going to miss the awesome ending(s) with peace walker and the post paz battle though
[editline]13th May 2015[/editline]
don't have anywhere the same impact if you watch them on yt without playing through it all either
play it, wimp
Will we get a discount on TPP since we bought GZ?

Ideally Konami should have packaged Ground Zeroes with another game similar to the MGS2 demo that came with Zone of the Enders. That said the only other Konami game that came out last year was Pro Evolution Soccer 2015...

The speech was perfect. Despite the game being written poorly this fit very well and has even bigger impact knowing whats to come.
