Does anyone know if the Legacy collection has the substance edition of MGS2 and the subsistence edition of MGS3?
They are kinda the substance and subsistence versions. MGS2 has the VR missions and snake tales but not the skateboarding minigame. MGS3 is missing everything from disk two (except MG1 and 2) but still has the 3d camera.

Should I get the HD or Legacy collection if I want to get as much story as possible?
Legacy
doesn't legacy not have the expanded editions though? How important are those extra cutscenes to the plot in general? I can get MGS4 from a friend.

The theatre mode thing? I think you still retain most of the story, even if there is some hidden scenes in it. Never really used it that much at least.

You will not miss out on any important plot, all you miss is silly extras from the ps2 version of substance/subsistance that impact nothing story wise. Just get the Legacy collection if you want all the games, but if you can't find it new you probably won't get MGS1/VR with it because they were codes for the PSN version. [editline]18th May 2015[/editline] Oh wait, I just remembered that MGS3 is missing the nightmare sequence thing in the HD collection too. That sequence is optional though, and you probably would have missed it on a normal playthrough anyway. Has no story significance either.

It is completely non-essential. HD Subsistence is missing every single piece of new content except for Metal Gear 1, 2, Theater Mode (was that in the original?) and the Unlockable camo. It also cuts out the Nightmare sequence (which was completely optional and just a teaser/joke).

What else besides the Nightmare sequence is missing?
Wait, I thought it was also missing theater mode? What else besides the Nightmare sequence is missing?
Snake VS Monkey, the Disc 3 videos, Metal Gear Online (understandably), Duel Mode, Secret Theater. Demo Theater and Secret Theater are different.
What, theres no duel mode? What the fuck?! Oh no, that feeling that something isn't well... Ugh I don't want to buy Subsistence....
I just bought the Legacy Collection and I'm wondering what would the best order to play the games in.
I just bought the Legacy Collection and I'm wondering what would the best order to play the games in.
The usual order, MGS1 2 3 4 and PW, since games reference each other in some way or another.
I don't see why people always ask that question. Would you play any other game series out of order? Would you watch any movie series out of order?
Would you watch any movie series out of order?
Star Wars.
Star Wars.
That's still release order though.
I don't see why people always ask that question. Would you play any other game series out of order? Would you watch any movie series out of order?
I was just curious because the Legacy collection has the games lined up in chronological order on the main menu.
If Kojima isn't at E3 this year, someone better be out in the lobby selling tomatoes to throw at the greedy suits who go up on stage.
That's still release order though.
unless we're talking about the dumb "machete order"
Trying like crazy to get a hold of a pre-order copy of the Collectors Edition, looks fantastic but Konami stupidly made them only available at Game here in the UK....like pretty much the worst retailer here, why couldn't they do Amazon ffs.

My main theory for this would be because the last two trailers Boss sent two goats to Mother Base, and obviously a third where they have a kid would end the series of trailers well.

Either way we'll have some sweet gameplay, so I really can't complain.

Expanding Mother Base allows all sorts of new weapons and items to be developed; starting with the ones found during missions, along with all sorts of support. You can also train soldiers and send them off into missions. Additionally, you can intrude other players’ customizable Forward Operating Base (FOB). An Open-World METAL GEAR SOLID, a great evolution Realistic infiltration missions in an Open World The massive field portrays a realistic passage of time and weather, allowing you to freely form missing strategies to pull off. You can also call on your buddies for support during missions. Capture soldiers, animals, vehicles, weapons, containers, etc. and clear missions to expand your Mother Base. A Massive Field 200-times larger than “MGSV:GZ” The explanation of the ‘Forward Operating Base’ makes it appear as though you actually won’t be able to attack other peoples’ entire Mother Base, but only this ‘FOB’. Maybe it’s a precaution to make sure players can’t get ruined because their entire base is looted.
So Yong was right about the FOBs then
