Hopefully the impressions on June 9th will clear up if Mother Base / Forward Bases are external only or have some internals too.
I do believe some of those early reviewers got to go inside, sit next to DD, and scratch his belly while 80's music played from a nearby radio. Whether or not it's seamless we'll have to see.
The only one of those without a manual is MGS2:Substance, which is a bit of a shame but it was their only copy. That copy of MGS3 is actually from the Essentials collection too.
the argument is that the whole [sp]Big Boss epilogue[/sp] thing shouldn't have happened, not that he should've killed himself anyway after it.
Even without [sp]Big Boss[/sp] it would have been a shitty ending if he killed himself because that's not who Snake is, the whole point of the "foxdie is mutating" subplot was to set up the suicide scene which is why it's stupid in the first place, they had to create a random external reason for it to even be a viable ending.

But that's absolutely who Snake is. Snake fights to leave a better world for future generations, suicide in this case is the ultimate sacrifice towards this end.
just fuck my shit up

David, no, please, stop.
He looks so much younger without the facial hair.
Is it just me, or he kinda looks like Keifer?....
I can't even laugh at that I just feel empty inside
David, no, please, stop.
there's no saving him

That's what happens when you have no distributor.

fuck that's heart breaking
i saw the movie too, it ain't great.
It had like no marketing. I'm not surprised it made that much.
If you have about an hour and a half to kill you should watch this guy talk about the plots for MGS1, 2, 3, and 4.

My computer crapped out again. I can't get it fixed for a while and I was in the beginning of the end for MGS1 [sp]the elevator scene where you get attacked by the bad guys wearing invisiblity suits[/sp]. I have MGS1 on PS3 but it's a digital code and I don't want to play through the game again to get to that point. Do you guys think it's a good idea to finish the game's plot with MGS1: The Movie or just to grin and bear it until my computer gets fixed? I really want to get to MGS2.
So yeah... Might have went a little overboard with a unattended IFV in Ground Zeroes.
What twat keeps it both unattended and leaves the car keys inside? Some sneaky bastard might steal it.
That tranquilizer pistol is hard for me to use, it's got some harsh bullet drop and i can't quite get my head around the distance and leading.
Found Kojima's real inspiration for MGSV.

I know barely anything about the Metal Gear series, but I just got Ground Zeroes for free on Playstation Plus, and holy shit was it fun, I'm gonna be doing the other missions in it probably, and I'm sold on MGS5 now. Related; how do I unlock the Raiden mission in GZ?

You have to find all the XOF badges.

Oh god, that's gonna take a while. I know about the one you get by rolling a lot, and that's about it. I'll look up a guide, I guess.
There's someone claiming to be one of the journalists who was at the 48-hour event posting mild spoilers and really interesting info about MGSV right now: http://boards.4chan.org/v/thread/296895256
Read at your own risk and take the info with a grain of salt, of course, but there are some really interesting bits of info in there. The scene they describe in the OP with the music sounds fucking amazing. But the most shocking thing they mentioned was this:
Did not get far enough to meet Eli. The last mission I completed involved rescuing child soldiers from Africa. [sp]Kaz calls them Niggers. It really stood out to me.
It was just shocking. He just calls them niggers. When you load up the helicopter to bring them back to motherbase he says something along the lines of "You are seriously bringing those niggers over here?"
and he just always calls them niggers. Like any time he is referring to the child soldiers from africa he just calls them "niggers" or "the niggers"[/sp]
Unsure how to feel about it, personally.

If this is true, then there's going to be a shitstorm when the game is released.

Well. [sp]this game's theme is either Revenge or Race, and Kaz was bullied for being japanese-american, so it wouldn't surprise me if there's racism. The problem is that it seems to be literally just Kaz calling the child soldiers niggers in-story, but only the children for story scenes, as if to hit the offensive button for this game for no real reason.[/sp]
I don't want to uncover those spoilers but I want curiously ask if this could be potentially [sp]worse than Paz rape[/sp]
I just finished reading through the whole thread and since the OP is now done posting (and didn't use a damn tripcode so his authentic posts are hard to track) I've collected all the stuff he said into a single place: http://pastebin.com/CNSV6jii
Again, read at your own risk and take with a grain of salt. The spoilers aren't really all that huge, but it does demystify a few things that you might want to save for the actual experience (like the entire hospital escape sequence).

Eh, probably depends on the person but the media might say yes.

Long story short and minimal spoilers, [sp]Kaz calls the child soldiers from the trailers niggers outright and asks why Big Boss is bringing them along.[/sp] Or so the supposed leak goes, but there's going to be a lot of 'leaks' no doubt.

I'm sort of inclined to believe it. The scene in the trailer where [sp]Snake has just returned with the child soldiers and Kaz hits one with his crutch[/sp] lends it some credence.

I've been posting in the thread and I saw someone post the webm which jogged my memory of it, so yeah, it does make a disturbing amount of sense. Hopefully this is less 'lucky trumped up coincidences' than the Fallout 4 leaks.

Keep in mind that Miller grew up in the 50s and 60s, when that was a semi-acceptable term.
