Anyway, my girlfriend who once swore that she'd never touch a Metal Gear game effectively finished ALL of Metal Gear Solid 1! Was an incredible amount of fun watching a LP of someone who had no idea what to do, and also equal parts frustrating. REX took well over an hour and a half.

She was practically angry how much she liked it and is looking to start 2. I know the others can get divisive but I genuinely think Metal Gear Solid 1 is such a [I]solid[/I] game that it really is a universally good game liked by people from all walks of life. Had a friend who didn't go for any others in the series but only went for 1 coming out of it totally positive.

We've already started the Tanker of 2. She doesn't know who Raiden is and that's exciting to me.

My plan is to get her hooked so when V drops she'll buy half of it.

People overstate how bad the grinding is if you want to do things solo, co-ops is never actually forced on you either. Just replay earlier missions for S ranks (more unlocks) and weapon schematics you missed, once you've got the sneaking suit you can run through them surprisingly quickly.

They're made by these guys who do ancient Japanese versions of video game characters and the such, so more likely than not that is meant to be Snake.

i seriously am baffled by people who keep saying this. "i didn't have enough fultons to S rank ______" when i was certainly able to even without infinite bandanna AND got the tank to run soldiers over in order to do it when i did eventually run out of fultons. seriously all you need to do is be a little creative

Drat. My PS4 ran into some issues and would only boot up on safe mode. I got it working again but i lost my save data for everything including Ground Zeroes (only 25% done but still annoying nonetheless) and i lost the damn PT demo.

No idea why it went into that safe mode loop, has anyone else experienced it?

Portable Ops is pretty good if you emulate it with a controller.
The controls were the biggest issue.
