The repetitive nature of getting troops and sustaining Mother Base, I can understand. The story has me thinking that it's kind of like Saints Row 3/4 in that you're building up your power before going for the offensive, so it's no wonder early parts of the game are kind of a drag with repetitive missions and not much happening. And otherwise it basically just seems like the change in style and to open world are the main reason for changes he dislikes, because it's not like Metal Gear games of previous.
That seems to be the crux of a lot of things, I'm a fan of Metal Gear and even I understand this is basically a radically different take on the series.

"Snake in MGS5 is completely different than Snake in MGS3."
Yeah no shit. This is the game where Big Boss becomes a villain. Of course he's going to be different.
I'm not really worried about MGSV, at all
Worst case scenario:
It's 20 more hours of ground zeroes with some extra gameplay features and gadgets, which I'm perfectly ok with since GZ is great.

I've already got 40 hours in GZ and I'm still not bored of it. Can't imagine how many I'll have if I give TPP the same treatment.
Maybe quiet is an assassin sent to DD to kill Big Boss, which is why in the trailers she's in handcuffs and stabs some DD members.
It sure would be interesting if the way you recruit her is by getting a stamina kill and fultoning her
Probably the most holy shit I've ever encountered as a collector:

whoa, nice. What's in it exactly?
Konami could make MGSV a lot better if they cut a lot of content from the game and sold it back to us.
In fact, MGSV should be scrapped and rebooted as a MOBA

T-Shirt, flyers, Dog Tags, Art Book, and Metal Gear/Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake MSX Soundtracks--game not included (Yes it does). :v
Wait, microtransactions in MGS5?
ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS?
GOD DAMNIT KONAMI.
Ugh, I think I might hold off on buying MGS5 now.

Don't jump to conclusions. We don't yet know how they are implemented. So far it seems to only speed up development of motherbase. It probably won't make the game ridiculously hard forcing you to purchase something. It seems kinda similar to that WoW thing where you could spend money and just start at max level right away.

Yeah, boohoo, ruins everything the game has going for it.
I'll bet your ass it's MGO cosmetics, which MGS4's online also had.

dude it's MGSV, for it to not be worth getting would require Konami to be siphoning funds to ISIS or something. i think we can deal with a couple "do you want faster resource management" prompts
I'll admit I was overreacting, what with the previous stunts Konami has pulled this year, I am very on edge with stuff relating to MGS5.
It all depends if Konami gimped the resource development stuff. If it takes like 20 actual real-time hours to build a gun, that'll be some horse shit.

I listened to a podcast of 2 guys who had played it, and they reckoned everything could be unlocked item-wise after 20 hours of play.

If that's true then the microtransactions really are just for impatient people with too much money.

The whole thing is about their time spent playing the game:
