Can someone tell me where the files for the MSF soldiers are? And also where to find the renegade threat mission
I wanna replace the Marines in the renegade threat mission with MSF guys.
Got all the trials unlocked, so that's nice. Now to work towards the S ranks! I got the Renegade Threat, Intel Acquisition, and Operative Rescue to take care of. The only one that worries me is Intel Acquisition, due to it's long start up and inconsistent truck driver, though Renegade Threat's method (grabbing a sniper then shooting them quickly) is also not doing me so well. I'm pretty good on Operative Rescue, though I want to save that for last to hear kojima to go "Snake, that was perfect." before I end the game for good. Any suggestions on these missions?

Probably memory-management related.
[sp]Or not. This is Kojima[/sp]
I think that's referring to the Jamais vu mission, where the snatchers are Aliens and the humans under mind control are Zombies.
There was a thread on Reddit about the best way to explain Metal gear solid to someone to get them interested and this one takes the cake imo
"You crash into the Federal Building in New York and sword fight the former president of the United States, who is actually a clone of an elite soldier from the Cold War..."
And that's from the one people didn't like as much.

Also you were a child soldier in the former President's Liberian child army.

would setting them to be aliens get rid of the penalty for killing dudes like in Jamais Vu? i really enjoy the combat in GZ but if i'm using it then i've already completely fucked up

I was able to get into a combat mindset when marking enemies. When you have S ranks anyway, you don't mind murdering the whole camp (as long as you've marked them prior).
Speaking of, I was able to get S ranks on everything but Operative Rescue. It's trial and error, so there's no real strategy behind it, so I'm pretty close to 100%ing this game! Pretty great for 12 bucks, I'd say.
Use your lethal bullets to non-lethally shoot the guards. Once they're on the ground cringing in pain they're out, and even though they may bleed to death (or get a pat on the back and vanish) you aren't blamed.
3-4 shots will put them on the ground on normal. Getting their right arm disables their handguns on the ground even.
Remember me from the other thread?
I just completed MGS2.
I need a lie down.

MGS3 IMO is easily the best one
I think it's best to absorb all the shit that happened in mgs2 for a few days and then start on mgs3.
I want to play MGS2 again. I should probably start on it now before I start classes next thursday(anyone else going to SJSU?)
I love this :v:

In MGR if you're S ranking every mission and if you miss a battle, can you go back and S rank the fights you missed and exit the mission / finish the level no matter what the rest of the ranks are or do you have to finish the rest of the level S ranking every other fight as well?
Trying to get the stormbringer achievement at the moment.
I really want to make a Ground Zeroes joke right now, but I'm drawing a blank.

I wanted to say that we should have called this thread "a slice of American pie on Communist soil", but I wasn't sure if that would have even worked.
Why did I leave it so long to play this series?
So I just bought the metal gear solid HD collection. MGS 3. SNAAAKE EAAATER
Why did I leave it so long to play this series?
I agree. I remember when MGS1 was released and I played some VR missions at my friend's place and though Grey Fox was really spooky. I wanted to finish the game myself but I didn't get a ps1 until the ps2 was already out. I wanted to play the series again when mgs4 came out but I didn't have a ps3 then. I finally managed to get into the series via MGR PC version... But for some reason I started putting off playing the Legacy Collection until now. I finished mgs1 and 2 within the last month and am working on mgs3 now.
I'll admit that the controls kinda turn me off, simple actions seem to take way too many button presses and some things are just baffling (I still haven't found out if it's possible to aim down the sights of the AK in full-auto mode in mgs3 without firing the thing). The story is great though and it's the main reason I keep playing. I'm just glad that mgsv will control so well.

It's kind of awesome that newcomers to the series can finish MGS2 and immediately follow it up instead of having to wait two more years for MGS3 and four more after that for MGS4.
After the mindblowing (read bonkers) revelations from 2, waiting was definitely the hardest part.
