I thought the Punished Snake costume was cool. He was the first guy I saw there in costume too.
For a second I thought it was Punished Gaben
Maybe he's going for the Punished Walter look

Have to say, that big boss outfit in your cosplay was done pretty well. The wearer just needs to shed a few pounds.
That Snake is pretty Solid :v:
But seriously, great effort how'd you make the thermal vest? I use a PVC vest and attached the shoulder pads with the straps on but that one seems to have been all one unit.
Also, how'd you do the boots, I could never find a matching pair.
the vest was just a thermal vest with shoulder pads sewn on, and a seperate harness worn over with a tactical belt attached with its hooks
the boots are some steel toed ones i got off of zappos for xmas

they dont look exactly like the sneaking suit boots, but they look close enough that it makes sense
trust me he knows he doesnt have the right body type for punished snakle
i like how my solid turned out tho, better than last years
[editline]20th February 2015[/editline]
he actually put a lot of work into the costume proper, hunted down most of the parts and got it all combined
the arm and horn were what he did last, the arm, he admits, was poorly done and he wants to re do it
i personally thought he could have gotten a wound makeup kit for the horn, but whatever
and in all honesty he isnt that fat, and he knows he could stands to lose some weight (its mostly the costume and gear)
hell i did the solid and i know i could hvae stood to have about 20 pounds more muscle
To be far, all jokes aside the costumes, both of them are super professional looking.
The actual clothing and detail put into them are super fantastic. I was just being a dick really, the costume is really good. Props to both of you
next time i wear the costume i want to get some magazine holsters and proper ammo boxes for the vest/belt,
at that point tho i might as well do msg2 snake because my next con might be in summer and that vest was already hot in february

I love how totally baseless and wild every single claim here is. It's golden.
[editline]21st February 2015[/editline]
also advice for cosplay guys : your hair
do up your hair properly and it helps sell it, Snake's mullet is more iconic than you might think it helps sell who the character is

I was searching Google for that image of the crazy conspiracy theory about Hebrew letters talking about nuclear war on Mars to respond to these claims, but instead I accidentally just found more Metal Gear Solid related stuff.

Snake didn't have a mullet in MGS1.
Basically, if you're going as MGS1 Snake, cut your hair shorter.

The problem with the "New Coke" theory is that most people didn't warm up to New Coke and start saying that Coke Classic was shit. People are doing that now with Hayter. Kind of seems like a bandwagon thing, considering how David honestly had some pretty good performances in the early games (you can blame voice directors for PW, and maybe 4).
I do wish that theory was true though. Hell, maybe it is.
Too bad Sutherland proved to be worthy of the role.
The Quiet cutscene sold him 100% to me.
Considering Hayter's slowly descending into madness I don't even know what to think on any of the theories.

If you considering descending into madness to be becoming a successful screenwriter and director, then he obviously must be fucking insane.
Besides, the Twitter meltdown only proves how invested he was in the role. When an actor becomes attached to a role that much, they tend to really care about the final product. Everyone who LOVES Kiefer and just lines up to suck his dick, I just want to ask you this:
Do you honestly think Kiefer Sutherland gives a shit about Metal Gear? Do you really think he cares about anything more than a paycheck? David Hayter gave up half of his pay for The Twin Snakes so the original cast of MGS1 could return. No other voice actor in the Metal Gear series would do something like that.

What it seems is that he's obviously missing working on the series. When Kiefer finishes up working on The Phantom Pain, he'll be right out the fucking door with a fat check in his hand. If Kojima would want him back for another game, they'd probably have to up pay by 4 times. All because Kojima wants Hollywood recognition, and Avi Arad decided to open his fat, dumbass mouth.

No, they wanted Kiefer because he can convey emotion better and he's better suited for a darker game, he doesn't sound nearly as hammy. Kiefer is a veteran actor both in voice and motion, both of which are very important for this game, considering face, body and voice are all captured.
Finished the first Peace Walker fight in one try AND with only one ration used
That's an accomplishment for me, since I've been struggling with the boss fights almost constantly.
[editline]21st February 2015[/editline]
Is it okay to only have a fully completed walk unit and power unit at this point too?

I don't know how experienced Hayter is with motion capture, so you might have a point there, but otherwise that's total bullshit.

Hayter does regular acting too

both kiefer and donna are really into the series, donna previously and kiefer now that he worked on it
read his twitter, I also remember an article saying that his favorite game is mgs2 because it was 'simpler to play and had many concepts he liked'
people joke about the bad boss thing but that was before he started doing the role

"when this actor finishes his job he's gonna get paid"
lol are you for fucking real
troy baker said kiefer sutherland was the bomb
I don't know about you guys but I can't think of a single time Revolver Ocelot wasn't trustworthy so I believe him

yeah but with how people and bombs are related to each other recently in Ground Zeroes you don't know how literal that statement may be :tinfoil:
Why are we still talking about this? Hayter isn't coming back please get over it thanks.
As long as there are metal gear fans this'll keep coming up. It's going to be an endless debate, like who was the best batman

Clearly the best batman is Ben Affleck
Clearly the best batman is Ben Affleck
I'll hold my tounge on that, the dudes a good actor and is certainly built enough to play the role. I've no doubts the movie's not gonna be great but he could be alright
