Ocelot's the key to all this, if we get Ocelot working. 'Cause he's a funnier character than we've ever had in the games...
dont forget that as the series progressed snake became more human, whereas big boss loses his humanity its like poetry, hopefully itll work
I dunno. Big Boss at the end of MGS4 seemed pretty human to me. What I loved about it was that he didn't die like a villain.
techincally that was after his death proper but yeah
I dunno. Big Boss at the end of MGS4 seemed pretty human to me.
Because he spent 15 years locked away on life support. He had quite a bit of time to reflect and realize how dumb of an idea those poisonous hamsters were. Oh, and I guess he also started regretting the whole "train child soldiers and hijack nukes" thing.
many people are afraid that hideo will 'pussy out' and make big boss a misunderstood hero but the same guy made a villain for 2 games into a really enjoyable, stand-up guy who stole the show every time he was on the screen and he did it while staying true to the canon and the character [thumb]http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-MeSOl7HH-RA/UalnalU2h7I/AAAAAAAAAFI/jcT2Hfxw3S8/s1600/Ocelot!!!.jpg[/thumb] whatever kojamas does I'm not scared

He had a (somewhat) noble purpose. Big Boss just did all that because "fuck it, let's plunge the world into eternal war, because muh Boss".
He had a (somewhat) noble purpose.
Bringing the world back to the stone age by removing things like electricity or internet doesn't seem really noble tbh
Second anniversary celebration for MGR on Platinum Games' twitter and well.... MGR2 Sam & Jack co-op.
MGR needed a feature where you could play as Sam like you could Virgil in DMC3.
MGR needed a feature where you could play as Sam like you could Virgil in DMC3.
uhh
Bringing the world back to the stone age by removing things like electricity or internet doesn't seem really noble tbh
Not just that. He wanted Big Boss' vision to become real for the whole world, not just a place like Outer Haven itself. If the Patriots didn't get completely erased with the convenience of leaving order-important systems intact, he'd of destroyed modern society simply to put the entire world into a lawless place filled with warfare and violence for the sake of following after Big Boss' horrible means. And considering the utter bastard Ocelot is in MGS1 and 2, even if some of the pawns he kicks the crap out of had it coming he's still as much an asshole as villain!Big Boss was, if not more so.
uhh
I mean like in the acutal gameplay. In DMC3 it was super fun getting to be able to play the entire game and fight all the bosses using someone elses moveset. The DLC for Sam while incredibly fun, was lackluster. I would've loved to be able to play the whole game as Sam.
That actually sums up a lot of the changes and decisions made on the Metal Gear series after MGS2.
Raiden's personality was genuinely stupid though. Symbolism is fine but when a character is just irritating it doesn't go down well at all. I don't put it down to him being a very "eastern" character at all. I think they just shoved Raiden into MGS4 at the last minute.
Even despite the fact that I enjoyed MGS2 Raiden as "The Only Sane Man" type character, I do enjoy the fact that him becoming a Cyborg Ninja allowed MGR to happen. Here's still hoping for MGS2-MGS4 tie in.
There were hardly any actual bad guys in the MGS universe, and that includes big boss. Just people with different ideologies fighting on different sides.

So whilst he becomes a bad guy in that sense, his intentions towards the end were for a greater good. But really it all depends on how Phantom Pain approaches his final years being active.

If anything, the MGS series is about ideologies and the ambiguity of good and evil.

It's going to be mighty impressive if they hit all the themes home regardless of experience with the rest of the series. Kojimmer is god so anything can happen.
I love raiden mainly because it's really funny that he's this helpless kid raised on video games who can't do anything right and everyone yells at him for being a fuckup despite him being vastly underprepared for everything and the poor bastard gets goaded along into doing all these wrongdoings and then after suffering so much through that hell a couple years later he gets his entire body cut off from the neck down Raiden had a hard life. Although is there any character in MGS who didn't have a hard life? The only answer I can think is Johnny Sasaki
The worst thing about 4 was Meryl's butch ass linebacker shoulders in that one scene
There were hardly any actual bad guys in the MGS universe, and that includes big boss. Just people with different ideologies fighting on different sides.
fuck no lol it's one thing to fight for an ideology, it's another things to use brainwashed child soldiers
There were hardly any actual bad guys in the MGS universe, and that includes big boss. Just people with different ideologies fighting on different sides.
Zadornov and Hot Coldman were pretty fucking evil. Then again, Peace Walker was cartoony as hell.
There were hardly any actual bad guys in the MGS universe, and that includes big boss.
