Metal Gear Solid - Tactical Megathread Action VIII - We Are Diamond Dogs!

I wonder how going to mission sites is going to work out in this game. With how big the maps are supposed to be, I expect we'd get to choose where we land and have to secure landing zones so we won't have to travel as far the next time.
Only possible match is Ishmael given he has blue eyes and knows the proper meds to get Boss up on his feet.
I figured that, but keep in mind Ishmael's face is hidden too.

My face when Commander Miller reprimands me for hitting on female MSF staff.
TPP is up for pre-order now.
60 bucks, a steep price if you ask me.
If this is a serious post then as crazy as it sounds the idea that steam sales devalue IP in people's minds might have some truth to it.
This is going to be the biggest release in video gaming history, and you're not willing to pay standard price? Not only that, but you were somehow surprised that a new game is $60? You've got Big Boss in your avatar for shit's sake.
[editline]28th February 2015[/editline]
I wouldn't be surprised if Konami execs pushed for GZ as a separate $20-$30 release just so they could justify retaining the $60 price point for TPP. That's how massive this game is.
I hope there's another Deja Vu mission in Phantom Pain, that was an amazing concept that paid tribute to the history of the series.
Mother Base could stand in for Big Shell from MGS2 and the Jungle maps could stand in for Tselinoyarsk from MGS3.
Perhaps you could even have a Deja Vu mission for MGS1 again, but with even more, especially since we're going back to Camp Omega (at least if you're transferring data)
Deja Vu - Mother Base
A dead Heavy near a Helipad can be moved to reveal a large cache of C4 underneath his corpse
A Harriet jet repeatedly circles around the base, shooting it down will cause a Metal Gear to emerge from the ocean to save it
Entering a helicopter with cigarettes equipped will replicate an image of Solid Snake in a Kasatka.
Calling Kaz while wearing the Naked camo will cause him to recite the "I need scissors! 61" codec message
A group of dead soldiers can be found next to a pistol. Picking it up will replicate Vamp's attack on SEAL Team 10.
Shooting a male soldier accompanied by a female soldier in one of the lower levels will cause him to come back to life shortly after
Spotting a hostage using certain camo and while using an assault rifle will make Big Boss say "You must be Ames"
A female soldier that can't be hit by any weapon on the other side of a damaged bridge
Spotting a Metal Gear under construction will replicate a similar part from the Tanker chapter
It would make more sense to have some sort of mission for Metal Gear 2, since it's 25th anniversary is coming up.
I still feel like Ishmael is either an hallucination or the medic
It'd make sense for both of them, the medic was devoted enough to Big Boss to shield him from the explosion so it's possible he continued in the hospital afterwards watching over him. He was also the closest person to the explosion so him getting some pretty bad burns (that might disfigure him) would be an explanation for the bandages, even after 9 years. (plus it's kind of weird that such a minor character was voiced by Kiefer, considering he already voices Big Boss and Ishmael)
Hallucination also works because we only ever see Ishmael interacting with Big Boss, and that's when he gives him the shot, people use that as a reason as to why he's not an hallucination but as far as we know it could be BB giving himself the shot and imagining that someone else's doing it.
Maybe Ishmael is a hallucination of the medic.

i really hope there's some sort of MGS1 mission for every map. or at least the ability to wear the MGS1 skin, turning all other soldiers into MGS1 genome soldiers of different varieties.
or maybe every new chapter will feature a new extra/side-op that represents the next game in the series in the style of deja vu.

Calling Kaz with the naked camo should have him chastise him like The Boss did and tell him to put a uniform on.

Or he could just be a really big fan of the series and is heartbroken that he got shafted.
Though I really do wish he's in TPP.

Its not really spergy, he was attached to the series and did a lot of work for it, for like what; almost two decades?
if the game does not take place only in 1984 then it's safe to say SS could totally be in the game
[sp]watch as he turns out to be eli[/sp]

12 years more like
Wasn't he originally convinced that Metal Gear Solid was supposed to be a porn game because the main character was called Solid Snake or something
"Good job Snake, age hasn't slowed you down one bit"
It's not gonna happen, but I think it'd be really cool if TPP had an alternate costume based on Snake Plissken.

jesus christ so much photoshop he may as well have just slapped his face onto the original PS1 models
I thought they were renders
Pretty sure he uses prosthetics. Every image of him he has a completely blank expression and he never shows his eyes.
Any else find this wannabe-colt 1911 horrible in Ground Zeroes?

Why is it horrible? It does the job it needs to do in the new order of only fictional weapons in MGSV.
It's a believable Cold War 9mm service pistol external design, which is what it needs to be. It resembles the Browning HP and certain CZ series pistols far more than the 1911.
