I did it, I survived Ocelot's torture! now I can get the canon ending.
MGSV Seiko Watch will be available

It's about 375 dollars (or 340 euros). It will be released on September 3rd, a day after the Japanese release of the game.
does it pass time faster irl too?
I'm still bummed about the cover art. I prefer the Yoji Shinkawa artwork of MGS1-3, not close ups of the protagonist's face
I really would like to see non-canon games after mgsv tho.
this is an inevitability, metal gear is almost the only thing konami has left.

Luckily it's easy to swap covers so i am going to swap them for sure. Unless it has an alternative cover art like Bioshock Infinite had

Wait, including a US/European release?

By the time you can get it, we'll have the game and that feature won't matter anymore.

/it's the cigar that passes time not the watch but I geddit
/it's the cigar that passes time not the watch but I geddit
silly me, I just remember the dial and stuff from the watch in a video of the feature
so watching this video i'm curious about the mother base stuff
are the battles like dark souls type mp? where you just invade and wreck shit? it doesn't make sense to me though how you can just pass the time like that, wouldn't the other player be affected, and therefore kinda give it away? the part i'm talking about is at 40 min in. idk, there's definitely not enough info available on this, but it looks hella cool that's for sure.

I kinda want to get a copy of Twin Snakes just for the shits and giggles and so I can go "yeah, I've played that".
I've watched some of the cutscenes on YouTube and holy shit it looks fucking hilarious.

To some degree, I can understand why publishers want to keep a generic cover for their game (even though it'll make it harder to distinguish from other generic looking games), but just imagine how good a Yoji cover would look

Obviously there would need to be some changes to fit the red artstyle the game has
Dude I would fucking love that on my shelf. Looks so much cooler than what the actual cover is :(
[editline]5th March 2015[/editline]
and honestly it's not like MGS isn't known, so I don't see why they would want to do something more generic so people might be more inclined to buy it because it looks like other games they may play.

As it is, its already a distinctive style one that would reel in any newcomer (I know the art for MGS1 was one reason it drew me in).

Looks amazing but wouldn't it fit Ground Zeroes more?

Hopefully that isn't the collectors edition arm. I knew it wasn't full scale, but that looks even smaller than half scale.

it is the half sized arm. If you took a quick look you'd see that it is half as long and half as wide.

I imagine Big Boss and one of his sons running around Afghanistan.
yeah I think it fits GZ more. It needs to have a lot more red and BB on his knees, suffering, while soldiers and mechs fight in the back
I don't think it'd be that hard or costly to ship TPP with a reversible cover with Shinkawa's art, let's just hope Kojima/Konami actually do it

That has boggled my mind since the first time I saw it. It's truly a time paradox (hehheh). I'm just waiting until they give more concrete examples of how this mode will work, but I just can't see using the phantom cigar during a multiplayer game-mode. Either you can only use it when no other players are present (thus giving away the info that you are sneaking against only AI) or you can't use it at all.

Maybe the phantom pain cover will be reversible like the ground zeroes cover:

One thing I noticed about Big Boss through GZ, TPP trailers and the rest of his history, and a possible insight into why he snaps, is that the guy seems very attached to his men, the soldiers fighting under him. He seems to love each one as fiercely as a father might love his sons... And indeed, since he himself is sterile, the way he oversees their training and teaches them his philosophy may be the way he indulges his paternal instinct. Which means that the thing that twists him so is probably going to be when he loses most or all of them again. Poor guy.

Wooooah, I didn't know it had that (I only have a digital copy). Maybe I should pick up a physical one too. Does every platform have it or just certain ones (like current gen only or something).

That and the only true children (clones) that he has he considers to be monsters created by a person that he strongly resents. [sp]at the end of mgs4 he tells solid snake that he never considered him to be a son, but respects him as a man[/sp]
I genuinely want this to be the last Metal Gear game, the series is bloated as it is and I want him to be able to work on something new, i,e Silent Hills
metal gear means a lot but Kojimbbles if you give me a silent hill as good as 1-3 you're god himself
I think Kojima should remake Metal Gear 1 and 2, and then "retire" from Metal Gear, at least as the director.
We shouldn't have any more numbered games after that. Only spin-offs and side stories.

The 360 version had it, so I'm assuming every copy does.

And 3! Because why not.

Just remake all the PS2 and earlier titles.
he means the MSX titles

Big boss is sterile? wasn't only solid snake sterile? (Because he is a clone)
Big boss is sterile? wasn't only solid snake sterile? (Because he is a clone)
BB was a U.S. Army soldier used as a test subject during the Bikini Atoll nuclear tests, and that's what's supposed to have sterilized him.
Big boss is sterile? wasn't only solid snake sterile? (Because he is a clone)
Big Boss is sterile because he was apart of the Bikini Atoll nuclear tests
And Solid isn't sterile because he's a clone, but rather the patriots made him sterile so he couldn't reproduce and he'd be a once off
