Considering the 99.999999% likelihood of that being a young Liquid Snake, i doubt he actually stabs him.
I'd be completely fine if Eli turned out to be just some random kid and not Liquid just to piss people off.
So, my first experience with stealth stuff was Splinter Cell(still one of my favourite franchises despite one fuck-up game), and my first Metal Gear game was Revengeance, my first proper Solid experience was Ground Zeroes and I had a blast, most likely going to buy Phantom Pain.
I have a PS2 collecting dust in my room, should I get myself MGS1-3? There seem to be multiple 2's and 3's but I guess its just like expansion packs or something?
It's really hard to say if you'll like the earlier games, they are pretty much nothing like Ground Zeroes, and absolutely nothing like Revengeance.
Great games though.
OH SHIT ZADARNOV [sp]ESCAPED[/sp] FOR THE 25TH TIME, KAZ THINK WE SHOULD DO SOMETHING MORE TO [sp]SECURE HIM IN HIS CELL?[/sp]
AFAIK he'd be better off running MGS1 on an emulator since halfway through the game requires you to swap discs and that doesn't work on the fat PS2s. Unless he's got one of the slim models, that is.
I have a fat PS2 and the disc swap worked fine
So far I always took the Deja Vu test (and used a guide because I can't really answer question about a game I never played). If I'm going for an S rank or any time really what happens if I don't take it?

As far as I remember, the test comes after the S rank screen, thus it doesn't really matter.
If you want advice, though, you don't need all 7 for S rank. Just get the camera one, helicopter one, and psycho mantis one, then break for the crawlhole. Should be quick enough to get an S.

Okay, thanks. I'm preparing for S runs on both difficulties and on hard I think you need to do all of them.
Nope, just 3 events. The ones Magikoopa24 mentioned are really easy to get.
If you're looking for 100%, you need to do the tests sometime, but not necessarily when you S rank.
The Deja Vu quiz is bullshit because it asks who Otacon's love interest is and Solid Snake is not the right answer.
So this came up as related because I was watching an MGS5 video

I'm kinda late, but I actually manage to get a S rank on normal by an accidental speedrun. The idea was to fuck shit up, but then I deciden to go stealth first and on start when the alarm goes off. I had shadowplay on, so I got it recorded. The video begins after I sneaked past the first guards and placed the c4.

(dunno why I paused and unpaused at some point)

After he [sp]died[/sp] I was expecting a call from Kaz saying [sp]that the corpse escaped from the morgue[/sp]. Zadornov is one slippery mofo.
I have this theory that Big Boss gave Outer Heaven surveillance cameras because every base he successfully infiltrated never had them and Zadornov's escapes made him realise that.

Camp Omega?
Damn, your advices for the Deja Vu made me finish both difficulties in a blink of an eye.
I'm getting there.
I was thinking a little bit about Metal Gear's central themes. Gotta love Kojima's storytelling style.
It's a series about innocence, its loss and its peril, the burden of leadership, and consequences, consequences, consequences. About all the evil that can come from a well-intentioned attempt to change the world, and about the waves made by the smallest wrong decision by those who command great power. About messiahs and the way their lives are misinterpreted by those who believe themselves to be their followers.
Really, one of the most tragic victims of all that came to pass was The Boss. In the end, she was the only one who saw clearly, and yet so much evil was done in her memory. The Patriots, the PMCs, two opposing forces built on what their creators believed was her ideology. In the end, when they came together, they became a monster.
I think that before the end she understood that in order to change the world, you'd have to tear it down and start from scratch, and she decided she was unwilling to go so far, because of the destruction that it would cause. Strangelove said it best at the end of Peace Walker: "In the end, it was you who put down your gun, and chose instead to sing." What choice did the Boss really have? Her reputation as a soldier had sealed her fate. She had to die, but she chose not to tear the world down with her. And she damn well could have.
On a more personal note, the end of PW was especially haunting for me as a player - 'Sing' is my mother's favourite song.

Damn, I fucked up again. I'm sorry.

3 kills and you still get an S Rank? What the heck is this?
3 kills and you still get an S Rank? What the heck is this?
The ranking system in GZ is extremely lenient.
I hope we can invade friends' FOBs without having negative consequences. It'd be fun to just build maps for each other. I guess you could hold back with your invasion, but that kinda kills some of the fun.

I imagine it'd be a real terror if some players invade random bases and kill everyone there without triggering an alert. That'd be a lot of fulton'd soldiers down the drain if them going down is permanent.
There must be some way they prevent whole bases from being kidnapped/killed. Otherwise everybody would do it, right?
Even the hardest stealth parts in MGS are made almost trivially easy with enough emphasis on headshotting everything with silent weapons.
Nearing the end of Metal Gear Solid, currently on the part where I have to retrieve the key from the drainage channel and do the temperature bullshit
I hope they severely limit/punish the use of too much fulton-ing in TPP
I love Peacewalker but fulton makes stealth way too easy as is
