My ps3 runs it like the 3ds does :v:
That's technologically impossible.
Vanilla MGS3 still runs better than Snake Eater 3D.

vanilla mgs3 has an internal res of 600 x 400
I ordered a copy of the legacy collection today!
Used with no MGS1 code but fuck it, the artbook is that shit I do like.
I watch Uknighted's streams all the time so I know more or less the story, but I'm ecstatic to be playing the games for myself.
The version of MGS3 that runs the best is actually the 360 version. Eurogamer's tests showed that the 360 version carries a constant 60fps while the PS3 version takes some hits down to 40-ish. But I personally still consider the PS3 version best because transfarring.
Now if only we had HD Collection on PC...
I love the transfaring, I use the cloud save all the time to play between systems. Only thing I don't like is that it won't transfar the msx game saves. Still need to beat MG 2, the first one was great.

I can confirm the framerate for the 360 version, it maintained a constant 60fps apart from around two cutscenes where there was a lot of fire and explosion effects, but absolutely no framedrops otherwise.
I like the vita version the most, because it's portable
Might be because it's the British version.
Oh, I guess british people aren't to like awesome covers... :c

I want the HD Collection on PS4. Having the Legacy Collection would be nice, but at the very least we the HD Collection.

It'd be nice to have MGS4 in 60fps and 720 or even 1080p.

never gonna happen; the game is ps3 exclusive forever
never gonna happen; the game is ps3 exclusive forever
I wouldn't be so sure. AFAIK the main reason it wasn't ported to 360 was because it contained a ton of uncompressed assets and thus required either a Blu-ray Disc or a huge chunk of HDD space, neither of which a typical 360 has.
PS4 and Xbone both use BD, though, and now Kojima doesn't hate PC so it could make the jump to current-gen platforms.

Honestly, I'm pretty sure Kojima said that because the 360 used dvds instead of blurays. Now that both systems use bluerays, I'm pretty sure he'd be more open to the idea. (At least, I hope he'll port the legacy collection to nextgen, would be guaranteed to be on pc thanks to Windows 10)
On a similar note, how many people here believe Kojima when he says that he's gonna be done with the series after 5? I mean, he's said the same thing after every other metal gear (granted 4 was only made because of fan complaints but still), but the fact that 5 looks to close up the timeframe between Peace Walker and MG1+2, it could be legitimate.

It was also made exclusively for and based around the PS3's annoying-ass hardware, which can make port jobs a bit difficult. It's probably the one Metal Gear game I least expect any sort of port or remaster of.

I doubt it, personally. He says stuff like this about every new game. Portable Ops was officially claimed to be "the missing link" that ties Big Boss' story together, but that turned out to be far from true.

Not to mention that they break the 4th wall in a mission and say they're on the ps3 in the game itself, which would be a bit out of place if it was ported over to something something like the xbox

this is such a minor thing that it probably wouldn't stop them from making a pc port at all

It would probably take them a total of 10 seconds to remove that call from the game
FYI, Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 also had a bunch of Playstation references and they were all neatly removed or replaced on the 360 HD rerelease.
Removing PS3 specific references really would not be that big of a deal.
I like MGS4 as a PS3 exclusive because it gives me a small amount of elitism towards people who don't own a PS3.
lol @ the dumb ratings cool your jets xbox friends

Something as Metal Gear Solid has to be enjoyed by as many people as possible imo. It is pretty fucking stupid to own a Xbox 360 for example and that you can play MGS 2+3+5 but not MGS 1+4. That is silly.

I didn't know that.
What were they replaced with?
I didn't know that.

If i remember correctly, in MGS 2 otcagon makes a reference to the PS2 console in a conversation and that was simply cut out. There were also Official Playstation Magazine's laying around which had been replaced with other magazines. Its small stuff really but they did made sure to remove/replace it for the 360 release.
It would probably take them a total of 10 seconds to remove that call from the game
But the game is literally unplayable without this 10 second joke!!
On a second thought, maybe you're right. I should've thought twice
so I went into this local gamestore that my friend works in, as he said they have lots of stuff from as far back as Atari to now. glad I did, because I now know where I want to splurge money on MGS related stuff.
They had a Peace Walker PSP with Peace-walker, every version of MGS2 and MGS3 on PS2, the MGS Essentials Collection for PS2, Ac!d, Portable Ops, and god knows what else. Most of it I'd want to buy just so I can have an entire shelf of MGS games :v:

I do wonder this though, it's not like MGS1 is exclusive, it's on PC, it's just 4 that's exclusive. I wonder if there's still some licensing or whatnot preventing it from being on other consoles since it could easily get a PC or even XBONE release
Might just be like how Halo 1/2 will be on PC but 3 will never ever

You'd be surprised what the Halo CE modding community is doing.

in the vita version of mgas 2 & 3 they re-recorded all the controls dialogue to be accurate to vita controls
you can kinda hear that their voices differ a little in those moments, they probably hired different voice actors
Has there ever been a ps3 exclusive game that also came out on PC?
