My girlfriend just beat MGS4 today, meaning she's now finished the main four-part series. She loved it and the ending of MGS4 was a giant emotional roller coaster for her (because her fav characters are Raiden and Big Boss). She seems eager to move on to the next game, though I can't decide if that'll be Portable Ops or Peace Walker. We're going to do co-op in Peace Walker, and I haven't even beaten that game myself yet so that'll be interesting. She has a PS2 buried in her stuff somewhere, so I tracked down a fairly cheap sealed copy of the Essential Collection for her. She said she's probably going to replay MGS3 first. She's now a full MGS fan and it's awesome.
This isn't confirmation that it will sell globally, he is trying to create enough demand for it so that it can be sold globally however. Tweet to sony if you want it to happen.
If it doesn't come to the west, how easy are Japanese PS4s to use in the US? Is it possible to just flip them to English and log in to my US PSN account like you can do on a PS3 or Vita, or are they locked down somehow? Because I don't have a PS4 yet, but if I'm getting one it's definitely going to be that one.
Ground Zeroes is difficult as hell to complete fully Then again I'm really slow and I try to just do one S Rank a day or another specific task :v:

The Kojima rescue mission is a piece of cake to 100% on PC; the rest you can just look up videos of S-rank playthroughs and copy their paths through the mission. I'm currently trying to 100% the 360 version as well (in case I end up getting TPP on 360 for the transfer) and I just can't S-rank the Kojima mission on hard. It's almost impossible. I can barely even beat it in the first place.

[editline]12th March 2015[/editline] its in the japanese versions special edition, dunno about western version. but most likely is.
They talked about it on the Japanese Kojima Station stream show thing. Basically, Snake has two emblems displayed as patches on his shoulders - his Diamond Dogs one on his left shoulder, and a custom one on his right that you can assemble out of various parts (graphics, words, layers etc.) that you can place and recolour. You acquire these parts by finding them out in the world or completing missions. The Venom Snake preorder decal thing is just one such part. The default custom decal, the plain "DD", is intentionally ugly to coax you into designing your own replacement. The intention, apparently, is for players to distinguish themselves by their emblem designs - for you to watch a video or stream of someone's gameplay and recognise who's playing by the little icon on their shoulder. Your custom emblem also shows up on your Motherbase's exterior walls and flags, containers, and vehicles that belong to you. MGO also has custom emblems, again on each player's right shoulder, but it's unclear if it's the same custom emblem as single player or a separate system with separate unlocks.

Shugo you and I are in the same boat man. Ive been specifically holding out for a PS4 for any MGSV variant that mightve come along. Also your girlfriend sounds cool. I'd say Peace Walker. My ladyfriends been saying we should go through MGS3 together to start the series in V prep. I'm excited but also terrified because I've watched her play video games and boy howdy We're still going through Silent Hill 2. 99% of it has been watching James walk into the same walls over and over like he just recently had his brain removed.

So it's more like "we" played it rather than "she" played it, but she enjoyed the hell out of it nonetheless and was very invested in the story. Now that she has her own copies, though, she'll probably get good at it on her own. Then we can join forces in Peace Walker.

I have to be there as a compass / boss fight assistance / any-time-tag-in fucking breaks the immersion of everything god women don't understand anything
I hadn't realized that they were even available on sale yet. I was ready to pre-order on Amazon, thinking it hadn't become purchasable yet when I found out tonight that it's been over a while. In case anyone wasn't aware, their official Facebook page says this: Why not do both that and restock the existing retailers as well? I'd jump at the chance to preorder at Amazon, and have my auto-notify actually work this time.
Mind linking it? I can't seem to find it just a bunch of unofficial ones
[editline]12th March 2015[/editline] its in the japanese versions special edition, dunno about western version. but most likely is.
All versions will have that feature, it's just that the Venom Snake emblem picture is exclusive to the Collector's Edition (in both JPN and West)

It's boring but I like to play as "default" as possible.

I managed to snag a US xbone collectors edition since I haven't seen anything for a PC collectors version but I still plan on trying to import a japanese one if possible just for the full scale arm.
dickbutt emblem pls
thank god for texture mods
Misjudged the UI of Drebin's shop and accidentally bought 280 rounds of Tranquilizer ammo while thinking I only bought 14 :suicide:
You guys better give a heads-up when the Collecter's Edition is available at GameStop. One way or another, I'm getting that fucking arm.

Holy crap, I already knew exactly how Laughing Octopus's fight worked and it's still so tense
I've been replaying Peace Walker over the last few days, and I forgot how dumb it is that they made the alert sound play every time you want to discharge people. I forget every time and shit myself when it goes off.
At first when I needed to let people go because I needed to get higher ranked people, I felt kinda bad. The msf guys are happy that they have a home and a family and then big boss says "ur fired" and throws them over board.
It's a really long process to discharge someone too. Wasn't it one at a time going in and saying discharge and confirming then waiting for the sound bit to play? Hope that's made a bit more intuitive to discharge your excess non-sheep fultoned things in MGS5.

It still takes a while.
Ya man I didn't even get emailed by Amazon I was so pissed. I'm checking my phone constantly at work now.
When I said "you guys", I meant this thread. Everybody here is pretty caught up with MGSV news, and I have a pretty tight schedule so I can't really surf the internet all day.
