Nearing the end of Metal Gear Solid, currently on the part where I have to retrieve the key from the drainage channel and do the temperature bullshit
Twin Snakes actually partly trivialized that segment by having two pipes in REX's hangar you could shoot, let you quickly heat or cool down the card instead of running all the way to the furnace and freezer respectively. For all the weird factors involving the game, I think it was a semi-decent bandage on that whole part.
Get ready, you're right before the final stretch.
I hope they severely limit/punish the use of too much fulton-ing in TPP
I love Peacewalker but fulton makes stealth way too easy as is
Costs money to fulton something.
Costs money to fulton something.
Right but there should also be stealth consequences, i.e. you fulton an enemy soldier, their scream should alert nearby hostiles. Especially if there is a heavy enemy air presence.
tell me about it

On topic tho, Wasn't there news of MGS5 coming up soon (27th?)
Can we get a reup

I feel like that specifically would be more annoying than anything. I think the cost of each fulton should just go up as you use them.
Or maybe some kind of per-mission limit.
New Song hinted at, possibly new trailer at Taipei Game Show?

The game does supposedly try to counter things you do too much. Maybe they'll all start carrying little pins to pop them. Or pointy pickelhaubes. Or a balloon wizard with total elemental mastery over balloons.
I don't think it's too strange. We've already had a bisexual Romanian knife-wizard.

Say what you will about Portable Ops, even big dog Kojima knows how sick Calling To The Night is.

AA Teams will shoot down their own guys :v:
I think Fulton should at least be loud enough that it alerts guards around or should they see it
Although I remember being worried GZ would be too easy when hearing about the regenerating health and then finding out that nope, GZ is challenging and playing on hard without reflex is hair pulling
[editline]19th January 2015[/editline]
Peace Walker was definitely too easy though. The only difficulties were in boss battles and that's because they were a fucking grind fest.

next will be 「Diamond Dogs」
So, I gave up on playing Peacewalker halfway through and watched it on Youtube instead (really great story I just couldn't stand the gameplay), and now that I'm done with that, I'm going to start MGS4. I just thought, though, maybe I should play Ground Zeroes first? I remember a lot of people saying that playing Peace Walker first makes MGS4 even more enjoyable, and considering Ground Zeroes is still Big Boss's time, should I do this chronologically or should I do it in the order in which they released?

Unless 'Early 2015' means The Phantom Pain is coming soon, and I doubt it, you may be waiting a while between GZ and TPP if you were to intend on playing them before MGS4. MGS4 spells out the long-term of basically almost everything, so in a way it spoils a lot of the suspense of GZ and TPP since their overall conclusion is pretty blatant - the trip to that conclusion will be the interesting part either way.
next will be 「Diamond Dogs」
If the song Diamond Dogs was actually used in a trailer, that'd be fuckin' awesome
Weren't they going to have Diamond Dogs in the GZ / TPP intro but Kojimbles team voted against it?

...So I guess I'm playing MGS4 next, then. Alrighty.
Dunno how you could fit Diamond Dogs by David Bowie in unless TPP starts with a cheesy 80's themed sitcom intro

a Diamond dogs recruitment video would fit with it
Why is it so hard for people to play the game in release order if they're making a conscious effort to play the whole series.

Because sometimes people have access to a random game in the series due to price cuts, borrowing from someone or other shit and they wanna play the next game after that I guess.
Or they're just idiots.

I wish that I started the series in order, but I didn't start getting interested in MGS until the Phantom Pain hype. Played MGS4 when it first came out with the PS3, didn't know anything about the series but ended up finishing it anyways. Just finished MGS3 right now, a few years later, on recommendation from my brother. Guess it's too late to just play them in order of release, so I'm just going to go with chronological since TPP is just around the corner, and finish off 1/2 later.

What did you think of MGS3?
a Diamond dogs recruitment video would fit with it
I always thought it could fit in during a cutscene with it playing diegetically over a radio on a helicopter, sort of similar to that part in the first Predator
[editline]19th January 2015[/editline]
I mean, it'd be cliché as hell but still
bought the Legacy Collection today, It'll be here by Friday.

tbh I don't think being cliché has stopped kojima before.
Although I'm a newcomer to the series I have to agree with the opinion the Big Boss should have never been voiced by Hayter.
