Hasn't it already been confirmed his contract is over in December and he's leaving?
Nope, that information only came from the anonymous inside source in the GameSpot article. The only official statement we have on it is the Konami one.
rip silent hills
Saw someone claim the reason for this was Sutherland costs so much that Konami wasn't willing to pay, and Kojima and Konami buttheads over that.
People just cant accept Sutherland.

Honestly that sounds plausible, but given that other high-up creative people at Konami just recently exited (Akari Uchida and Mino Taro, senior producer and character designer respectively of the LovePlus and Tokimeki Memorial games) with no explanation, I think this is all just symptomatic of the bigger changes Konami's dumbass top brass are making.
The vibe people are going with is that Kojima is almost certainly hard to work with and takes a long time to deliver his game, and Konami execs think that it's Metal Gear Solid is what people come for, and not Kojima
I feel bad for Geoff Keighley, he's been involved with video games for a super long time and just looks dead inside when he has to shill.
All he does is shill. Did you watch the last VGAs? Was just a giant advertisement.
All he does is shill. Did you watch the last VGAs? Was just a giant advertisement.
Well no shit, all of that had to come out of his own pocket. Sure, there were some advertisements, and the awards did not get as much airtime as it should have, but it was a damn good try for a new awards show. The award+tribute they gave the King's Quest individuals told me that this wasn't just a cashgrab he made up, but a celebration of gaming.
[sp]Plus we got to see some beta zelda u footage so that's all good.[/sp]
On topic, I hope Kojima can actually do things he wants instead of the execs needing him to keep making metal gear.

literally the only time he does not shill is when talking about metal gear
kojima is his only friend in the industry
Kojima leaves in december
that means he's got all of November to work on Silent Hills! Get to it buddy!
I don't want half a Silent Hills. That's what hurts so damn much. He's been wanting to make it, the fans lost their shit for it...
PT garnered more attention for the Silent Hill brand than the last 2 games did.
Fans lost their collective mind hearing Kojima would finally be doing Silent Hill, and now... this is it.
In my restless dreams, I see that game.
Silent Hills.
You promised me you'd let me play it, but I never will.
Well, I'm alone here now. In our special place.
Waiting for you...
He's got some friends at valve too. He wrote that behind the scenes portal 2 thing.
Does this mean Zone of Enders 3 is even more dead than it was before?
It means Kojima can just flat out make a spiritual successor if he wants to.
It means Kojima can just flat out make a spiritual successor if he wants to.
Considering Jehuty and Anubis were going to get radical redesigns that made them look a little more chaotic, 'organic' in a small sense, and the fact that Zone of the Enders 2 ended pretty damn conclusively to ZoE1's plot points, it'd honestly be better off a spiritual successor rather than with a direct sequel or reboot trying to overhaul everything to new extents.
Requesting texture mod that puts Konami emblems on all the soldiers.
Pretend that the FOX Engine is on the cassette tape. :v:
FOX Engine for the Commodore 64.

Area of the Beginners, I'm up for it.

Friends with the big man himself: [t]https://colchoesdopantano.files.wordpress.com/2013/01/gabe-newell-e-geoff-keighley.jpg[/t]
Also I'm pretty sure Geoff is how people got the Half-Life alpha a year or two back.

oh my god he has a soul in this picture
When Keighley is away from his job, he's more lively. But its clear the shit he has to do for his work has broken him, and its kinda the only job he can do, so he's stuck. Like there are times when he still has spirit for his job, I've seen a couple of times where the cheerleader has given away to some actually really hard questions and points. There was one interview I remember where he was just going through it, then suddenly got very serious and pointed.
Keighley cares about the industry, but he's stuck propagating some of the worst aspects of it.
guys check your game cases make sure a goblin didn't steal "A Hideo Kojima Game" when you weren't looking

Welp, here's to you Kojima

Kojima Productions was formed April 1st, 2005. So I guess they're making it 10 years even? That would explain the April 1st date.
I hope Kojima starts an indie company or finds another publisher
Imagine the ideas he has had for the last 20 years

Actually it's because the Japanese fiscal year starts on April 1st. That's why Konami is doing their big company shakeup right now.
[editline]20th March 2015[/editline]
So.....
Who's going to give Konami their money when they do the Metal Gear Solid: Ultimate Complete Saga Collection (A Konami Digital Entertainment Game) - Special Limited Deluxe Edition w/ 10 Art Books and Replica Big Boss Facial Hair?
Or will you swear allegiance to Kojima and hang onto your timeless old copies with his name on them instead?
Kojima man, I'm sorry, I follow Kojima not the metal gear brand.
See Portable Ops and Snake's Revenge as exmaples.
So my only real compalint about Twin Snakes so far is that some of the cutscenes have bordered on Ridiculous and some of the voice acting is worse.
Realistically, where could Kojima thrive? I know he could do well at valve since they're not bound by publishers because steam prints them money
while i love mgs and snatcher to death, i really dont think he would be a very good filmmaker
unless he got someone to write for him or something, i feel he'd be a zack snyder 2.0
I agree. Honestly, he isn't the greatest writer. I really only find his work so engaging and wonderful because of the format that it's in and the things that he does with the interactive side to pull the whole thing together. Kojima's known not for his writing, but for the boundaries he pushes within the games medium.
MGS games are a combined spectacle of unprecedented video game storytelling, deep gameplay, and flooring the pedals on the respective console's hardware. In a movie format, you lose...pretty much all of that. Unless he has some secret talent he's kept up his sleeve due to always having to work on MGS, I think he should stick to games. He knows how to make good games.
That's real.
Google search "konami stock".
No I mean there was originally an entirely different picture.
I just want Silent Hill kojima
it's all you and I wanted out of life
can you apologize to konami and let them at least give us that
