Oicani, when you'll write the mainstory to the google docs? [editline]11th April 2012[/editline] https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AtiY-c8QASg7dEJXdm16dGdYSGhuUXRfZ051d3JYUkE
Finished image that will be on the pirate note:
Hey everyone, sorry for the late post. I had intended to have this ready by Saturday, but that didn't happen. Regardless I have finished the outline of the questline for Pavo Abor! I still have to write the dialogue in detail, which will probably take some time to perfect, but I figure I'll show you what I have. Obviously this is all tentative, but let me know what you think and I'll hopefully have the dialogue going in the next few days. Thanks! How about calling them the Warden of the Seas.
How about calling them the Warden of the Seas.
Warden would imply they are protecting something. If we are going to name these pirates something soon I think we need to determine a few things to come up with an appropriate name: - How ruthless are they? (Do they take prisoners or are they merciless cut-throats) - Why are they pirates? (Money? Freedom? Adventure? Joy of slaughter? Shanghaied?) If they are fairly vicious band pirates, I'd go with a name like: "The Searippers" or something. If they are just in it for cash, go with a name like: "The Northern Waters Acquisition Board". And if they are just jolly ol' cartoon pirates: "The Salty Seadogs" or something silly. Also, having a confirmed level of brutality/morality would make the pirates seem more like an actual faction (when we are making the NPC's and dialogue) rather than a bunch of wacky characters varying from "Back-Stab Bill" to "Petey the Pirate".
You guys could just make it "The >Insert Captain's Name< Pirates". If the player becomes the Captain then awkwardness could be avoided by making it the original founder's name. Just some classic Nord name like "The Ulfgar Pirates"/"The Ulfgar Pirates of Luftahraan"
Hey Wheeze, could you send me a video of the quest in its current form? I have a friend who wants to look. Well in our lore for the guild, they are searching for a lost treasure, but really i want their name as a pun, something like how they are gonna loot the maiden sea of her bounties. I hear the sea makes a lot of noice when it gets penetrated anyway. That was lame
Humm, if thats what you want, what about this sorta stuff: In spirit of the joke, Knowers of the Sea. You know, that old Elizabethan(?) era meaning where saying you have known a girl meant you've had sex with her. (equally lame) The Shorewound Pirates (or Kloahraan for Sandwound) "We spill over every shore in search of what is ours" The Goldwound/Goldenwound Pirates (Yuvonahraan) "Those who pass us by are left with wounds in the throats, and gashes in their pockets" Siivyuvon (Find/found gold) In the little table I use for the dragon language Siiv is "find" and "found" so that could be a hidden grammar pun.

We shouldn't actively be trying to name a group of pirates in the dragon language; the city was only called that because it was ancient enough to have that sort of stuff involved. The pirates would be more (relatively speaking) modern and probably base their standard around a thing, famous event, or joke. Maybe it'd be best to just leave them as Captain Shorewound's (or whoever it will be) Pirates. It's simple, gets the point across, and only goes to show how dedicated the men/captain is to him/self.
Still no one editing?
I'll be editing in about an hour or so. [editline]11th April 2012[/editline]
Hey everyone, sorry for the late post. We should make sure that the way he kills him self is quite dramatic so that the player feels almost shocked. But I don't like the fact that the player is constantly getting things that he lost. It just seems so repetitive. I think it would be nice to do something else then to find an item for him at the bottom of the ocean. That is probably insanely boring for the player. So there are these 3 characters called Evette, Thjollod and Ruki. This is a family but without a family name. So I don't know what I can name their house hold. So if zeldar reads this( or anybody who thinks he can come up with a decent name ) I have a request for a name.
Yeah sure. Add whatever name you want. Don't add Thjollod though. He'll just be some hooded man in the sewers until you get far enough in his quest.
Stridfeldt perhaps
Done Editing -Created Evette and a nice detailed routine for her -Created her daughter Ruki and a routine for her ( she doesn't seem playful when I tell her to play outside though) -Put them into an empty house and made modifications to it so it looked nicer and added navmesh to said house -Added various idle markers near all the market stalls so that NPC's often stand near the stalls and look like they are browsing wares (with the animation) -Added various other furniture markers such and wall leans and edge sit markers around the luftahraan town square and market place -Added some benches around luftahran town square -Added the map goonzy drew on to the note: File: http://www.leet.cc/luftahraan.rar
The text looks out of place to me. It should seem more hand written.
That would require installing more fonts, through.
That would require installing more fonts, through.
No, you could produce something much more fluid with a tablet.
You mean adding another image?
I could do some child voice acting. I'm dead serious.
Or just making the text and the image one file.
I could do some child voice acting. I'm dead serious.
Sample? :v:
The text looks out of place to me. It should seem more hand written.
The color of the map has a slight brown to it. I'll change it later. It's probably that which makes it look so odd.
Now someone should edit.
Me, thorny and oskutin are the only ones editing lately. What's going on ? [editline]11th April 2012[/editline] Do we have a ModDb page ? I think we should create a very well presented page on moddb and a well presented thread on elderscrolls forums and then use said thread on various other relevant forums we know of. But then we'd need some way to filter out the inexperienced people.
I'll start editing when school lets out, which is in 2 weeks.
Just ask if they can code quest lines that are streamlined, and have 99% no bugs. If they can provide samples, then thats like a giant leap there.
Just ask if they can code quest lines that are streamlined, and have 99% no bugs. But after 3 quests or so I think I'll be able to do develop quests quite swiftly. [editline]12th April 2012[/editline] I forgot to post full official dialogue for the Pirate guild intro quest. I don't have time now, I'll do it tomorrow.
A few friends found out about this project and as everyone knows, we're on very short supply of female voice actors, but a few girls I know are willing to try and voice some, so hold on as I update you guys. In the meantime, another friend of mine tried a take at voice acting:
I will not be able to use the computer any time during weekdays, irl is attacking me, but anyway here's some stuff: I admit I have a fetish for making lore and backstory to these things. Here's a little something, not a word file but please have a look. http://imgur.com/Luaot
