Yeah I can do that. just need the .dds files and the .nif files
If you want I can download the latest Luftahraan file and make some retextures then send you a ss and tell me what you think.
If you want to start retexturing Guard armor then you need to know that the Luftahraan Guard isn't the richest of all guards. So their armor is a mix between leather & iron and maybe sometimes fur(basically keep it guard looking but don't go all plate-armor on it)
I just want to point out that I am good at retexturing but I cant change the model.
Also does someone got the full extracted version of Luftahraan. Like the extracted bsl and bsa file.( I can extract the csa myself but can't extract the bsl)
Hey why would you need a .nif file if you're only changing the .dds?
And thinks for reminding me I forgot I was good at editing .dds files :~).
Those 3 years of photoshop lessons werent wasted at least.

No I was just telling you not to retexture plate armor but rather go for leather and iron (iron is plated I know but I think it fits)
G-Strogg was not understanding what I meant so I want to make sure you(rein) know what I'm talking about:
I'm not saying that the leather armor should have plating. I am saying that we should retexture the leather and iron armor sets and then we have the guards wear a mixture of that. So 1 guard might be wearing leather chest but iron gloves and boots and etc. etc.
Just want to make sure there is no confusion

I don't know but anyways:
These guys: http://www.youtube.com/user/Brodual
Are going to be doing a video about luftahraan. I will help them in this and hopefully we can get some more publicity for the project.

Zeldar I saw you rate me. You haven't said a word in ages wtf.
What? :v:
Possible quest idea please read:
So I was reading over the character list earlier today and saw Dreekius, the paranoid Argonian. I love paranoia and Argonians so while jogging today I brainstormed a few quest ideas involving him. This isn't totally fleshed out by any means, but I thought I'd get some opinions before I put actual time into it.
After talking to Dreekius a few times you'll hear him say something about a doctor/healer whose patients don't come out the same as they go in, if they come out at all. This doctor would be a character I made up (unless someone else has a better character, which they probably do) named Souvarine, a nasty, smug, intelligent Breton healer/doctor. I can go more in-depth on him later if needed since the idea for him is based on a Skyrim character I already sort of RP'd.
Anyway, Souvarine would be a member of the KGB faction and the player would have to do some snooping to find this out, as well as just going around town and asking about the character. Many different responses would turn up, most people claiming ignorance but some giving enough little bits of clues to piece together an answer, this answer being that the good Doctor Souvarine does not in any way adhere to the Hippocratic Oath (aka he's dangerous and supposedly hurts people and makes them disappear).
The quest would sort of "die down" for a little while and the player character would be left to do some snooping and messing around in some of the other parts of Luftahrann which will no doubt be amazing. Eventually, however, they'll come upon an injured Dreekius and be prompted to talk to him. This will, of course, rekindle the quest and after finding out that Dreekius was injured doing something paranoid or sneaky or pickpockety, a few guards (KGB faction, player may or may not be aware of this at the time) will come escort him, kicking and screaming, to Souvarine for "medical attention". The player has the option of leaving it at that, or going to look for Souvarine and see what happens to Dreekius. If the players is already a member of the KGB faction, Dreekius should instead be prompted to say that he faked an injury in order to get inside the Doctor's lair and find out what's been happening to the other patients and why they've been coming out spaced out or disappearing altogether. I'll get to why different responses based on factions is important in a minute.
The player can snoop around and ask around some more to try to get to Dr. Souvarine (I can flesh out exactly what this and other dialogue would be as well as who to ask if this quest idea gets encouragement/approval) or could fake an injury.
When the player character gets to Dr. Souvarine, they learn the secret of why the disappearances are happening as well as patients returning spaced out like they were brainwashed. Souvarine infiltrated the KGB ranks and gained trust, and when KGB members are sent to him he drugs them with potions and attempts to interrogate them for info because he's fighting against them. The disappearances are occurring because when people on the KGB hitlist are sent to the the doctor to be disposed of, he's actually sending them into hiding.
It's important that if the player is a member of the KGB, Dreekius tells them of his plan to kill the doctor so that KGB-aligned players would still have a reason to visit him (to protect him from/warn him of Dreekius).
Once the player finds out the truth about Dr. Souvarine, they'll have the option to either turn them in to the KGB or help him fight against them, prompting another quest.
I think this would be a good idea because, while the KGB sounds like a fabulous faction/questline, it would not be something a player RPing a good character would be inclined to do. Also, when I first heard that Skyrim would give players an option to destroy the Dark Brotherhood, I was really hoping for a sneaky, "destroy them from within" kind of thing instead of the "hurr kill them all" we were given, so this could possibly make up for it. Anyway, tell me what you guys think.
Possible quest idea please read:
-quest-
This makes me wonder how we should structure the quests as factions clash with one another- should we make it akin to the Skyrim rebellion and make it the "Join KGB/rebellion, then you're stuck with them" Or should we make certain break points where the player has a few quests that allows him to make a choice and switch sides if he wants.
I prefer the second option but I see that getting really complicated really fast, but while the first option is obviously much easier it feels a little bland considering how many factions are concentrated into a single city.
Fuck I forgot; I was at work, giving some kids tutoring! Shit I'm sorry, I'll be there next week fo' shizzle!

Very glad to see some more writing being posted on the thread. I like this ALOT.
It will be very difficult to pull off but I think we should definitely do this. I like it alot. There are problems though, the amount of different paths the player can take and the impact it has on the world will make this quest extremely hard to make but that is all worth it. We shouldn't half-ass quests since they are the most important thing in skyrim.
Oh and "kicking and screaming" part will probably not be possible since that requires custom animations and highly advanced scenes.

Yes, I think we should keep the idea though but I agree with the point where things might get really complicated.
But we can always adjust and remove some stuff from the initial idea.

I agree with you on this for sure. I'm not a modder, just a writer. I'm trying not to propose anything too unrealistic but I'm most likely selling our modding team short in some areas and way overestimating them in others, so I appreciate everyone's patience. Just tell me if something isn't doable and I can try to help write around it.

Thanks so much for reading, I know it was long.
Glad to hear you like it, once again I understand that this will be very difficult if attempted and if something can't be done I'd be happy to help write around it and work in something a little more realistic.
And don't worry, I didn't actually mean that the character model should be literally kicking and screaming, I just wanted to convey the idea that he didn't want to go where the guards were taking him.
Anyway I have lots more quest ideas (both for this questline and other things like the mines) that I can either wait to post or just get out right now, whatever you guys think is best.
Feel free to post those ideas right now. Most of our writers are somewhat on hiatus atm and any documents that are completed don't always get thoroughly detailed in the thread.
I'll regularly update the dropbox with the new ideas and stuff; should be up in a day when I'm feeling not so overwhelmed.

I need the .nif so I can create a new armors and not only one type.
Also how can I change them if I even don't have the dds files ? They are locked in a bsl file and I can't extract them. I searched for them in luftahraan.bsa and Luft.bsa but they are not there.
Also I have a question. Do you guys use the armor from Skyrim that is for Redguards for the guards ? And if "yes" I have to retexture that armor right ?

To extract the .bsa or .bsl files you can use either the Fallout Archive program or the Archive application Bethesda has. The Fallout program is easier but the Bethesda one supports more file types.
Link:
Fallout Archive
http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/mods/34
to use the one Bethesda made go to Steam<SteamApps<Common<Skyrim and inside there you should see a program that is called Archive and the logo is 3 blocks stacked on top of each other. Run that and extract your files.
Okay thanks ! But I have to ask are there any unique guard clothes that I will find in there so I will know if I have to extract or I just have to take the model from Skyrim.
Okay thanks ! But I have to ask are there any unique guard clothes that I will find in there so I will know if I have to extract or I just have to take the model from Skyrim.
Find whatever armor you want to edit in the CK then in the Fallout utility select File<Open Archive and go to your Skyrim data folder. Select the Skyrim.bsa and open it,you will see the folders with all the files. Find the armor you want and then highlight it, go to actions and select "extract selected" then it will ask where you want to extract it to. The files are set-up exactly how the CK displays them, this means if you go to Items<Armor<DBArmor in the CK when you load up the .bsa the files will be in the exact same order so you know where to find it. As far as what armor type you are supposed to re-texture, Wheeze said to re-texture both Iron and Leather. He said the guards are going to wear a mixture of both so a re-texture of both is needed.I'm not sure what the re-texture is supposed to look like so you'll have to ask him more about that. If you have any more questions let me know and I'll try my best to explain.
Ohh god I understand now. I have to re-texture the Iron Armor and the Leather Armor. Thanks for clearing it out for me !
Question for Wheeze: How do you imagine the armors to look like after the re-texturing ?
-quest-
To make it easier to code, you could start the quest off by talking to the Argonian, then asking around town. Once that is completed a quest objective would pop up saying "talk to Dreekius", but when you return, his house would be ransacked with a note laying somewhere saying he has been taken to the doctor.

I imagine them having similar color tones in order to indicate that they are the guards. So maybe have some parts of their armor have the same shade of green or something to indicate that they are guards and not just some mercenaries. Y'know a "uniform" or something.

By the way to you writers: I'd like you to post more on the thread. Nobody has a clue what the hell is going on with the writers department and I think it's because you don't communicate on this thread anymore.
Oh and can we, the editors, get a list of characters? Almost all interior layouts are about almost finished so we need some characters soon.
Unfortunately I think it's because some of us haven't worked on Luftahraan in a while. Anyways here's the latest version of the character list.

I joined the writer's group a few days ago, so I'll post some more quest ideas later today when I get the chance.

erm.. That list is pretty old. Are we still using that?
Yeah. There haven't been many characters added recently since I've been mostly working on the Pirates Guild and various other stuff.
I saw a bank in Luftahraan and I'm wondering if it's going to be functional? Like you can actually make deposits and place more banks around the Skyrim or something. If you do want to make it functional I know how to do that so let me know if you decide you want to make it.

It may be possible, but I don't think you can filter out some objects, so you would be able to deposit and withdraw any items, unless you make the NPCs take 100 gold from you at the time.
A suggestion I guess I could give could be to make NPCs give you money that way by adding it to your bank box or using it for a "get x gold every y days"-script.

Not sure what you mean about the NPC's giving you gold but I meant I can make it so you talk to an NPC in the bank and a dialogue option will show. If you choose to access your bank account the inside of a chest will appear where you can deposit or withdraw anything you've put in it. The chest will be synced so anything you put in the chest at a bank will show up in the chest of every other bank. Same if you were to withdraw the item it would remove it from the chest in every bank. Then if you put more banks across Skyrim or at least in the Luftahraan region we would essentially be adding a whole new banking system for skyrim so the player doesn't have to go back to his house to store things or retrieve things.
