A cautionary tale of what happens when you play the Devil's game. (I opened two safes in a row. This footage was from the second one.)

Knowing that you actually weren't "just a few millimeters away from getting the best skin ever" saves you from a lot of frustration and possibly makes the system less addictive for you. It's the same thing with reward cards, there are cases where someone got the "gain level X" achievement (because of the xp card) before he/she clicked on the xp card.

As a programmer I can confirm this. Otherwise you would get situations like purposely slowing down your computer in roulettes or have a way to read behind the cards using scripts... not to mention crashes mid-animation, which would piss off a lot of people. Plus, it's way easier to control as a dev. On another note, don't buy drills. :P You have like a billion more percent chance to get crappy skins. I believe the numbers are 75% common 20% uncommon 4% rare 1% epic 0.01% legendary Add to this the qualities of the skins; so even if you get super lucky, you still have like 40% chance that your skin will be battle-worn or well-used, which very rarely look good. Most skins sell for <1.00$CAN on the market so you'd be better off getting the one you want instead of relying on 3.50$CAN RNG. I've been able to snatch 2-3 mint epic skins off the market for a buck.. not like it can't be done. If I relied on RNG I would need to pay approximately 1750$ to get one of those (3.50$ * 100 for epic chance * 5 for mint condition). :what: EDIT: Misread the source thread, legendary chance is 0.01%.
The moral of Payday's safes Don't unlock them, wait for someone to sell the skin you want and buy it that way It's MUCH cheaper in the end
The moral of Payday's safes Don't unlock them, wait for someone to sell the skin you want and buy it that way It's MUCH cheaper in the end
Or just simply don't buy shitty, unneeded skins?
Or just simply don't buy shitty, unneeded skins?
If they're unneeded it doesn't mean they're unwanted.
If they're unneeded it doesn't mean they're unwanted.
You're paying for a cosmetic that no one but yourself has time to really look at, I mean, I can excuse it and understand if it's Steam chump change (a couple cents, y'know) but I don't understand why people would pay anything over a dollar for them.
The moral of Payday's safes Don't unlock them, wait for someone to sell the skin you want and buy it that way It's MUCH cheaper in the end
Or use an alternative solution, y'know. The one that's cheaper than buying. ;)

Of course, I shouldn't really care about how other people spend their money, but seeing OVK's skin shitfest being supported makes me hurt a little.
Of course, I shouldn't really care about how other people spend their money, but seeing OVK's skin shitfest being supported makes me hurt a little.
Because they didn't actually deliver a few bits of good content with Point Break Even if it was paid, it was not bad What does about 3 Euros make a difference
Because they didn't actually deliver a few bits of good content with Point Break Even if it was paid, it was not bad What does about 3 Euros make a difference
Pretty sure Vintage isn't talking about the Point Break heists.
Pretty sure Vintage isn't talking about the Point Break heists.
Did I imply that? I just mean that since skins were added back in august, they have been releasing a few nice things, so to still be this mad/annoyed over it is just really too much to me They even put the pay to win aspect as card loot drops so there's literally no reason to get skins besides visual appeal now Just because they exist doesn't mean you're forced to get them
I think it's more of a reminder of how shit CF2015 was. At least for me, the first thing that comes to mind when I think of CF2015 is the skin shill fest. Not FWB or Slaughterhouse (as much as I like them), but the skins. All you need is one bad thing in a sample of things for that sample to be considered bad. That's CF2015 (IMO). I mean it really did not help OVK's case at all when they made their opening move for CF2015 one that straight up broke a pretty huge promise.
So Heister's Story Pack 1.0 just got released. Campaigns are made of already existing heists where you pray to the Anti-Crash gods, because if the host crashes it's all fucking dead (every campaign it's a pro job). Good shit.

That 1.0 update is just a fix to the bags not counting between days and some additional campaign [editline]5th January 2016[/editline]
Of course, I shouldn't really care about how other people spend their money, but seeing OVK's skin shitfest being supported makes me hurt a little.
Tons of peoples support tons of company with really shitty practices that are way worse than MTs or breaking a promise. The best you can do is not support it.
This isn't me but: [t]http://i.imgur.com/A4oDime.png[/t] Good ban reason. Good Ban Reason. GOOD BAN REASON. What the fuck even. I mean yeah, it's the Steam Community Forums, but still. I took my time reading the banned post for any mention of full on piracy. The only thing I found that could have has any relation to piracy was the brief mention of Pirate Perfection and how mostly everyone compares any gamplay changing mods to it (in the sense of "WOW, UR A CHEETAH").
lol good ban reason, is this reputable though? not edited?
It's a ban notif. from a friend I trust so I'd say it is.
lol good ban reason, is this reputable though? not edited?
I can promise you that it's real. Sadly they nuked the post, it's just another case of a certain moderator that has it out for me and other modders cherrypicking a reason to see this post get deleted and me banned. Despite all the valid points presented the fact I mentioned a trainer (The one that everyone knows about at this point) warrants a 3 day ban apparently.

I'll be playing this one in the meantime.

It's...sort of obvious that you'd get banned for mentioning it.
Got source for that?
https://www.reddit.com/r/paydaymeta/comments/3pjq7b/safedrill_drop_rate/ Not that much of a reliable source but lua files and steam market data seems to point at those numbers. EDIT : Seems I misread, the legendary chance is actually 0.01%
There's a difference between saying the name of a trainer and talking about it
Mentioning it still means people go "huh, what's that". I mean, this is like mentioning a known warez site on the official support forums for a game you cracked and can't get to work.
If you mention it, people WILL find it This is just like when people slipped the words "DLC unlocker" and "Skins unlocker" and people will immediatley go to google to find it Though then again, we don't know if this ban was issued by an Overkill affiliated moderator or one of the steam moderators [editline]Woops[/editline]
...let me correct myself A community moderator, one of those that don't use the OVERKILL_ prefix

Gonna assume it's the fact you mentioned the trainer at all. It's...sort of obvious that you'd get banned for mentioning it.
Looks like the general gist went over your head guy. Epic Pirate Captain man's been mentioned so many times on the forum in the past and jack hasn't been done about it before, because he's apparently the standard to which to deviate from when it comes to what lua modding is okay, which has nothing to do with piracy. Only reason I was banned for the post was because a moderator's cherry picking reasons to ban certain folks (Mainly those associated with a certain modding community). The only reason I brought it up was to prove a point: Every brain dead sheep on the forum assumes any lua mod is on the same levels as it.
Though then again, we don't know if this ban was issued by an Overkill affiliated moderator or one of the steam moderators
It was a payday forum mod, I know that for a fact.
