Even though KF2 is Early Access is totally worth it to play if you like the first
The idea of them adding microtransactions in early access to try and spite Payday 2 by saying it doesn't effect stats instantly put me off.
It's not hard to be better than Payday 2 but saying you're better by adding micros in an EA game is just oh so very wrong and laughable.

I didn't know about that, the "trying to be better" stuff. Well that's retarded but at least they are more dedicated to the playerbase
What really turns my head is that they start the new year with this. Like, wouldn't you want to give your community something free after all the shit storms and backlash.

Point Break was a good DLC though. Not worth a buy, of course, like anything from OVK since Crimefest 2015, but the content itself was good.
finally got vermintide but its optimization could be better
Payday 2 is a serious, straight-faced bank-robbery simulator, wherin I run around the FBI headquarters as Keanu Reeves in an anime schoolgirl mask with a minigun, a revolver that shoots explosions and the world's least reliable brand of drills.
It is no place for jokes.

I would break my rule of not buying any PD2 DLC if they make PornHub heist :v:
new heister Hitomi Tanaka heister pack

Every time she gets hit, she moans like an hentai lady.
im still waiting for a kawaii heister
PS: Coyoteze, that trailer is fucking great. The fact you pulled off Dallas looking more and more depressed with life on body-language alone is goddamn awesome. Keep up the good work, man
Thanks! It's the little things. The music adds a lot too though. And voices of course. I mean it all kind of just comes together the way it's supposed to!

Well, I have worked with Pewds before... Hmmm... :sbhj:
If they really wanted to collaborate with Coffee Stain Studios, why not make a Sanctum Crossover? They're both 4 player coop shooters so it makes sense. But I guess not a ton of people know about it unlike Goat Simulator.
Payday seems to have really gone the team fortress 2 route
I kind of hate that it's just something you're aware of in most multiplayer games with any degree of customization and it DLC it's not if the art design and tone of the game will go to shit but when

How do you tie it up with Payday though? Drugs stuffed inside goats at least makes some sense, but I have no idea how to make a crossover with a sci-fi setting.

The same way they squeezed in a Medieval cross-over.... a soothing Gage monologue
'Some people say that war never changes... on my travels through time and space I have come to a different conclusion... friends it is only when you see real power *ray-gun charging noise* that you realize how little you are... ACTIVATING LOW ORBIT ION CANNON!!'
*Wheelchair sprouts jetpack, exits through roof*
How do you tie it up with Payday though? Make the PAYDAY gang go to a Hollywood set that looks like Sanctum's setting. Stealing smaller cores which are then demolished at a set location to reveal cocaine within them or just place a drill on a giant core until it explodes to reveal cocaine inside.
There's a ton of stuff they could do.
But in the upcoming heist apart from the inclusion of Goats I can't see what else they can do with it.
Payday 2 doesn't even have any wacky physics unless you count Clover's hair.
For reference, using SteamSpy numbers:
Sanctum has 1,405,865 owners on Steam.
Sanctum 2 has 1,735,375.
Goat Sim has 2,160,754. Again, SteamSpy, so this doesn't count Android and iOS players.
I don't exactly begrudge OVK for picking the most popular offering when doing a collab with a fellow Swedish dev... but they probably should have waited until April Fools Day for release, like some developers.

Why does a company that sells a base game at $20 + $117 of DLC + ingame micro transactions need to attach themselves to some indie game that not only has nothing to do with what they're making but actively detracts from the themes of the product and then still charge $7 for it all
Like at least with the movie tie-in shit and Hotline Miami they have similar tones and themes
[editline]13th January 2016[/editline]
Not to mention they're in a situation atm that their own community doesn't exactly like them, so they release DLC that even a blind man could see they're not going to receive well.
Are they desperate for money quick or do they just no care anymore
I'll get the goat sim heist if it turns out to actually be fun but I'm really not into the idea.
Goat Simulator always seemed like a fun game to me but this crossover doesn't really work at all. It's making a superpowered glitch goat canon to a heist action movie game and it's stupid as hell to me.
Are they desperate for money quick or do they just no care anymore
Don't they have a contract with 505 Games to fund X years of scheduled DLC, with the crate stuff intended to fund whatever ridiculousness they want to push out outside of that? I suspect this is one of those off-the-clock projects fuelled by a friendship with a crossover-happy studio in the same regional gamedev community and OVK's usual lust to try and do more than they really should, given their capabilities and limitations in certain departments.
I'll get the goat sim heist if it turns out to actually be fun but I'm really not into the idea.
Can't you play DLC heists for free if someone else is hosting, or did that change recently?
Also, before anyone else suggests it: PAYDAY 2 V9 - The AO Is A Colossal Goatfuck!
I don't know if you'll guys find it useful, but I've found a way to play and host contracts from DLCs even if you don't own them. Don't think I can you tell you all so publicly though... but at least you know there's a way.
By the way... Making custom campaigns in Heister's Story Pack really is a fruitful experience, I couldn't imagine how far its possibilities extend! :)
Just so you know.

You don't need to make your own mod to play DLC heists without owning them.
There are other easier way.

Yeah, but at least I didn't get to download any cheats, so my conscience feels slightly better.
Can't wait for day 2 of the update. :v:
On a more serious note: at least we'll be getting a free heister soon-ish?
Yeah, but at least I didn't get to download any cheats, so my conscience feels slightly better.
You don't have to either way.

B-but, they released a free character pack, a free perk deck AND 2 free weapons! They have to get money back from that somehow!
Funny how visceral is going to release (again) 9 free Weapons to BF hardline even thought it's dead on pc and doesn't have that much players on console yet overbreeze release roughly 2 free weapons per year even with the tons of DLC they're selling

But that's the difference
Visceral is trying to get people to play again, so that they'll buy future content, so they're throwing free stuff just to try and lure people back in
Payday 2 still has quite some players to this day, and they don't think they need to redeem themselves for anything
wow who cares about some boring sci-fi it's all about the memes
