I just can't believe people on this thread were at all surprised or outraged by just the announcement of this, honestly. We've known about this for months.
Let's hope the music will be something like this. Some redemption out of this expired goatmilk.
well, as always, the only good thing that can be summoned out of this shitheap is viklund's fucking sick tunes
Lots of people disagree but I love cross-overs.
I was kinda hoping payday 2 would do a cross over with killing floor 2.
Hoxton would make an excellent character for killing floor, he's English, he's totally mental (so exactly the right personality for the game), he already has a shit load of voicelines and he would have a ready selection of masks for players to use on the customisation screen.
Payday already did one zombie themed heist and it was amazing, killing floor lore would easily facilitate the payday gang because it's already about a corporation paying teams of armed, often bat-shit crazy, mercs to try and put it's disgusting genie back in the bottle.
But a cross over with a youtube bait ~simulator~ revolving around goats?, maybe as a joke, but not full blown paid DLC.
I might be wrong but isn't it also a few years late?, ~irony simulators~ have kinda been driven so hard into the ground that someone might as well bring out one where you beat a dead horse.

I think some people actually forgot about it or most people wanted to be some kind of joke when the leak came or be something that got cancelled

At least they're acknowledging the negative reaction? I'm kinda miffed that day 2 of the update is literally pointless to people who aren't interested in a DLC for a game they don't have.
I see Overkill hasn't changed their passive aggressiveness at all :v:

This DLC was in the works since probably Spring 2015. Assuming they started talk with Tripwire around the same time there was a buzz for a KF2 cross over(summer last year, right?) could possibly see something by the end of the year?
(If you guys didn't notice : the steam announcement for day 2 says the shotgun is a secondary weapon.)
Possibly a really stupid idea but I thought that the Goat Simulator heist could work better if it wasn't so blatantly connected to the crossover material. Like if goats were codenames for fast cars and Bain had lines similar to those of GO bank (referencing CS and Valve, and such. ) I mean, I would have preferred that myself.
So the shotgun's a secondary,no idea what it'll be
Snip
to all the people who are upset and saying it doesn't fit payday 2, I wonder if you've even been playing the game
the tongue-in-cheek nature and general silliness has been a pretty hefty founding motif toward the latter half of its lifespan. this "fight" for the tone of payday 2 has already been lost, even though there wasn't any to begin with. go back in time and stop the speedrunner masks, meme masks, and medieval weapons from being a thing if you're that versed in this world.
it reflects TF2s stance on cosmetic items almost 1:1, if you're interested in reading up and understanding online communities stance on atmospheric game changes.
additionally, I understand the complaints about the nature of the heist. stealing actual goats is heavy-handed, and that's the point. goat sim is very blatant in its nature.
if you wanted it to be subtle, like you have to shout at the goats that you find on the map to vomit up cocaine, I guess that's cool and valid.
I still don't understand why every time we need to go the " Oh my god so funny and random" route.
That seems to be a pretty common thing that is happening with more and more games nowadays. I guess it's because most people prefer that way and devs end up feeling the need to follow suit to that to be able to cash in more. I mean not every game needs to be fucking Citizen Kane but it gets a bit out of hand.

Remember that you help us create the tone we want to have in the forums. Generally speaking, if the tone is polite and nice, developers will flock like sheep and talk more. If the forums are hostile, developers will shy away from engaging. This goes not only for our official forum (the Steamhub), but any other forum where players would like us to engage in. We want to take part and involve ourselves in your discussions, but you need to help us create the right setting to do so.
Do not knock on the Developer's glass.
Do not throw food at Developers.
Take photos of Developers without flash, please.
Almir should stop trying to make the forums a better place
It just comes over as highly passive aggresive
Anyone here good with audio? I can't seem to reliably make a believable radio filter..

High-pass filter + heavy distortion normally does the trick.

define radio filter
define radio filter
Something like how the contractors and/or Bain has. Nothing really fancy.

either email me a .zip/.rar whatever with a file at fender[at]fendermcbender.com or add me on steam for further deliberation, whatever is easiest, and i'll do a couple passes
no promises
Fun fact, most weapons of the same type share the same third person animation, resulting in crazy amounts of clipping/hands holding nothing. Apparently the system used for animating in-game is so shitty that it would be a pain in the ass to change it.
Yep, it's downright ridiculous sometimes.
Seeing a player with the Mosconi or Josceline reloading it by just shoving new shells into the hinge is always good for a laugh.

Same goes for the peacemaker, and maybe the other revolvers. Not sure.

Don't all pistols share the exact same reload animation?
Before this DLC Payday had a pretty defined humor theme that was a light hearted take on popular crime shows' own, but now it's just straight up garbage. Even Bad Christmas or whatever with all the elves and shit still made some degree of sense since it was Vlad, le funny vodkarussian man, doing funny memetic things.
This is straight up frenzied

Mr. Foster as a crossover character for Payday 2 would be sick.
the banter with hoxton would be incredible

Pfft, they'll probably do a weapon skin crossover before that.

Slaughterhouse's safe achievement had us stealing a bag from one of the cow-corpses that Vlad had apparently been using to smuggle drugs in, or something. I don't necessarily see a giant leap between cow corpses and live animals.
If this was a completely unrelated heist, but still had us stealing something like sheep instead of goats, I wouldn't be surprised if the blowback from this would be much much smaller.

There's still a pretty big gap between regular goats and goat simulator goats

That would be awesome, and his gas mask would be a cool default mask- but wouldn't it mean giving him a face under the mask for casing and the like? we have never seen foster un-masked.

Not unless they have him wearing his masks over his gasmask.
Is this even a heisting game anymore?
Yeah. One of your wallet
