Jesus Christ
Fired up a Transports OVK just to check new weapons (Deagle with mods doing shittons of damage yay), and I got shredded to pieces.
At one point I checked and a single tan ate 7/12 of my armour. Another one took 5/12 in another shot.
Since I dodged a few shots, I thought I accidentally didn't have armor equipped, then I checked and... Nope, it was on. The ICTV. While wearing Armorer.
Either I need to get good again, or some numbers aren't matching up...

As soon as there is a damage/acc restoration mod I think I'm going to install it, I miss getting my assault rifle, aiming it at a head, and popping out a head :disappoint:
Your not doing something right, not sure what it is but something isn't right there.

Time to get the popcorn, brb
Christ, man. You're acting as if the game has been totally ruined when really the core game hasn't changed. Are the microtransaction, and some of the rewards shitty? Yes, but honestly, it's not like payday has been completely ruined and the developers don't care at all.
I think it might be time to take a break from posting, in this thread at least.
The core gameplay has changed a fair bit though. SWAT vans and Craptain Winters are particularly unfun enemies and the weapon rebalance has outright ruined a few guns.
Also still fuck Jiro. Any time I hear him scream something in moonrunes I have to whip my head around to figure out what the fuck he just said. Sure, he said "BULLDOOOZERRRRUUUU" but it's the shit that's after that that makes me wonder if he shwacked it or if it's about to march right up my asshole.
Infact, I'd like to just see subtitles in general for the game. Ones that extend beyond Bain telling me 1024 times to get the thermal drill up, and Vlad singing Mary Had a Little Lamb out of tune.
When his lines aren't just whiny screams in Japanese they're downright confusing. If you hear him shout "SNIPER [Japanese words]" you have to check your surroundings because it's unclear if he's saying "there's a sniper" or "I killed a sniper."
I'm still not okay with Winters literally doubling the TTK of all the other cops even with the overbuffed pistols.
I mean shit, it's bad enough that the assault's never going to end along with the inevitable cop bumrush that always happens afterwards, but having an DW HRT guy tank a Raven shot to the chest is just a pure 'fuck you' from the game.

That shit's straight up unacceptable in Deathwish because there are situations where it can absolutely and irrevocably fuck up a heist. Apparently I'm dumb for thinking having a character that exclusively speaks Japanese is a bad idea in a group that uses English as their communicative language.

Oh boy, here we go.
first answer's up
We understand that there is a lot of fury, anger and disappointment with us adding this. From an economical standpoint however, completely based on statistics, we can already see that the Black Market update is working as we intended. Going forward, we hope we can convince the parts of the community that resist this change that this was the right decision to do to ensure the stability of OVERKILL as an independent developer and the future growth of PAYDAY 2.
:/ I don't know how to feel about this.
So this is how people do press conferences now? Geeze, another marvel of the internet I suppose.
:/ I don't know how to feel about this.
It basically means, he doesn't care. It makes money. :v:
Hahahahahahah, he already dropped the "We're a poor indie company and we need the money :'(" line

also this:
There are several arguments as to why we think stat boosts are OK to have in PAYDAY 2, and here are three; - The game is balanced around the vanilla experience, that is, the game without any DLC. When we add any new difficulties, enemies, features, heists or otherwise, we balance this in relation to the base game. - PAYDAY 2 is a player-versus-environment game. You and your three friends play together against the AI; you lose together and you win together. Any advantage your friends have will only benefit the success of the group. - Making sure that the boosts are balanced in such a way that it doesn't impare on the player's experience. This is an ongoing effort on our side.
Apparently supposed to be an explanation about why the skins give stat boosts. I don't really see how this answers anything but ok Almir!
:/ I don't know how to feel about this.
Translation: "Fuck you, Pay me."
Going forward, we hope we can convince the parts of the community that resist this change that this was the right decision to do to ensure the stability of OVERKILL as an independent developer and the future growth of PAYDAY 2.
Lol.
The first answer is literally "If it prints money, why stop?".
Two years ago people would have us instantly start work on PAYDAY 3, right after we released PAYDAY 2, like developers usually do. Instead, we decided to continue work on PAYDAY 2, because we wanted to make it an incredible co-op experience.
No, I'd rather they make Payday 3 instead of dicking around with this kind of shit.
How the fuck can they need money? What the fuck are they doing wrong?
They have 130 dollars worth of game that people often buy at full fucking price, how is it possible for them to have money issues?
What the fuck ever, the BM thing is working from an economical standpoint. This isn't going to be fixed. Shit is truly and utterly FUBAR.
The unfortunate thing is it's probably only still rated positively because the majority of the people who wrote positive reviews I reckon no longer play payday or give a shit about what's going on with it
I mean we've got 159,000 reviews and only 20k players a day tops
I think if all those people came back the reviews would swiftly change to negative
still in any case any time someone comes on the payday store page they're gonna scroll down, see a big fat endless list of negative reviews and go fUCK no I'm out
I don't see why this is a problem, do you really expect everyone who reviewed the game to play it 24/7 straight?
Team Fortress 2 has close to 300,000 reviews, and it's getting 80k players a day.

It's basically the same fucking excuse why flatout cheating in lobbies is okay. :v:
Like we've said in the past, we do free updates when we can, and paid DLC when we have to.
Interesting that they have to do paid DLC every single month like clockwork eh?

Yeah it's a dumb gimmick that actually detracts from the game unless you just happen to be fluent in Japanese.

This isn't necessarily wrong on it's own but put into context of PD2 is no less absurd and greedy than Ubisoft putting microtransactions in their singleplayer games
Funny thing is they could have had the skins drop on their own without selling drills and they'd still be making a boatload of money through marketplace sales and barely anyone would have cared. People have asked for trading through steam for a long time.
And like I said at the beginning of crimefest, you can bet your ass the power creep will come the same way it has come to DLCs.
I don't have a reddit account, can someone please ask why they try to be a big impressive AAA Valve experience but fall back on "b-but we're independent!" whenever anything goes wrong (see: all the time.) And why does an "independent" studio of ~75 people need to milk their customers more than any other company in the industry?
Going forward, we hope we can convince the parts of the community that resist this change that this was the right decision to do to ensure the stability of OVERKILL as an independent developer and the future growth of PAYDAY 2.
hardly independent, you've got a publisher that owns you. lmao
Well there goes me ever buying anything from Overkill ever again.
This is a fucking joke. The same "we do DLC when we have to" shit again?! IIRC they made back their dev money on pre-orders. Why the fuck do they need more money?! They have shit tons of DLCs and now they have MTs. Fuck off with this shit.
Interesting that they have to do paid DLC every single month like clockwork eh?
Oh my god, I would love to see what they're doing if Almir is being honest with all this 'times are hard and money is tight' spiel. Like, we're talking some serious Wolf of Wall Street level office shenanigans if they literally have to release paid DLC every month, and also have $2.50 micro-transactions, also base game sales, and the hype train donation drive earlier this year.
I know it's just PR/lies, but I want to believe in the cocaine fuelled financial irresponsibility.
holy fuck all those downboats
it's like the Gabe paid mods fiasco all over again, except with more backpedalling and 'indie dev' cards
Wow, Almir's comment on MTs has so many downvotes that is marked as spam.
He's going to ignore it, but it shows how NO ONE likes the Black Market update.
This is one of the few online co-op games with an active playerbase that I can actually run on my awful ass PC, but then again it's also the only online co-op game that legit makes me feel bad for supporting the greedy ass company that made it.
Choices are to go fuck myself or to ignore all my basic principles and keep on playing anyways. Hm hm.
all jokes aside most of my friends have uninstalled and I really need another co-op game that isn't Vermintide because that runs like shit on my PC. Please help

I'm genuinely hoping the sales for Overkill's The Walking Deadâ„¢ and Storm suffer because people have grown wary of their shit. Overkill have treated the community increasingly poorly over the years, anyone who buys those games are almost certainly going to enter the same world of DLC, lies and microtransactions. Because of how they've treated Payday 2 players I just don't trust them enough to buy their products any more.
did anybody honestly expect different answers?
Not really, but it's not like you could expect this level of carelessness and detachment either. This is so fucked up.
did anybody honestly expect different answers?
A lot of people did, for some reason
I still suspect all this is happening because they are Starbreeze's sole breadwinner
