A lot of people did, for some reason I still suspect all this is happening because they are Starbreeze's sole breadwinner
I didn't expect anything different, they have shareholders and ultimately they have to make money to please them.
I think the problem here really is people in positions of power in media and elsewhere making uninformed, clickbait articles about things that matter a lot to a lot of people, instead of doing some serious legwork to get their facts straight.
It's funny how Almir's trying to twist the negative into a few uninformed people spreading uninformed things. How about the articles written by actual Payday 2 players? How about the thousands of people who've been playing the game for years and do know their facts? Does he really think that the media is the problem? Regardless of whether he's genuinely blind to the real problem or not, he should consider taking responsibility for Overkill's shitty actions for once instead of pushing the blame on other people.
Also, how come on the road to crimefest site it said ‘all content will be free’, but the first day was an update involving paid microtransactions? Do you consider that free/what is the explanation behind that?

This is why we didn't want to discuss this with anyone - not even the press or media, who were very keen to get "the first scoop". We thought - and still think - that this is a great addition to the game. We have a system that everyone can participate in, where players can earn actual money while playing PAYDAY 2. If you don't want to purchase anything, that's completely fine, as you can just sell what you get and continue focusing on the core experience of PAYDAY 2. Meanwhile, the added funds allow us to continue making the game better and better all the time.
Is this the real life
Is this the real life
As opposed to all the funds from the DLC getting gobbled up by Almir's beard.
Is this the real life
He's right you know, you're given FOR FREE.. the option to pay. ;)
Well he isn't 100% wrong about this, my friend doesn't give a flying fuck about this and sold the drill he found for $2.91 Got himself 2 swanky new DLCs out of nowhere, this is definitely better than getting some normal masks or bonus 20k in-game :v:
I like that he's still playing the "we're an independent developer" card, too. I mean what independent developer doesn't have a publisher and make tie-ins with hollywood movies nowadays?
after reading Almirs responses i won't feel so bad about using unlockers
While some of the contents of his arguments about microtransactions being good I can surely understand that they want the money and need it for the developement of the game. Yet I don't think it's good for anyone to have an advantage locked behind payment. As for cosmetics, as I've stated prior, it's okay. The rest of what he's written sounds rather calm and I'd say quite honest. Still it also sounds rather indifferent to the damage done.
Is this the real life
"make the game better" does he mean swat-van like better or driving better [editline]25th October 2015[/editline]
While some of the contents of his arguments about microtransactions being good I can surely understand that they want the money and need it for the developement of the game. Reading the AMA and I'm just sick of everybody asking the same questions. -Why add micro-transactions? -Why did you go back on your word? -Are you going to get rid of micro-transactions? I know this is about micro-transactions and crimefest, but he's answered the obvious questions a few times already, I want to know if he thinks animations and basic AI upgrades are worthy rewards, and whether or not they would rework the swat turret without crimefest. edit: now that I think about it he's probably deliberately avoiding the actually useful/difficult questions

he can fuck right off lmao I literally go to university with people who deliver better stuff on tighter deadlines for school projects or you know for fun
Fuck, still nothing about soundtrack and B-Sides updates.
he can fuck right off lmao I literally go to university with people who deliver better stuff on tighter deadlines for school projects or you know for fun
because they're probably passionate about something other than money
Almir says he's gonna talk about the hype train tournament in the next week -30 points gg no re
I've got a wild idea on how to save money if you're apparently so short on dosh: Don't hire 50 extra developers. What are they even going to work on that would require so many people 2.5 years post-release?

Those two frames of jump animation took 2.5 years to develop. APPRECIATE THEM.
[On the subject of masks] We think they're great rewards, but we've been reading that there's been people that disliked them. Regarding the jumping animations and if we would've added them if people wouldn't have reached the goal, we won't know now, will we? :)
Oh, fuck off.
Q 14: "When are you removing stats from skins?" A: "We're not." Ah, shit.
inb4 it takes them another year just to fix the holding/shooting animation of the minigun in third person.
If it takes valve 3 years to patch a horrible grenade launcher reload animation, you can bet on it.
good ol pr damage control was a shame to expect them to possibly remove stats from the skins. now there isn't as much dlc powercreep as much as there will be skin powercreep. and 'we will be improving them' probably means either a redo of the ugly-ass looking ones, or even more bonuses :v:
While it might not look like it, there's plenty in the OVERKILL crew that communicate in the Steam forums, on Facepunch, twitter and elsewhere.
More than one? :v:
After Coyote got inducted into the Overkill Hivemind, all sense of self was lost.
What does Coyoteze have to do with anything? He simply does trailer animation and promo things last time i checked
What does Coyoteze have to do with anything? Things are awkward enough now and he's not even related to the development changes.
