Seems like you can get a refund for your Completely Overkill pack, can anyone check to make sure it's not BS?
you cant anymore as overkill set the dlc to released state or something apparently
-snip because dumb-
Hey there was a mod as well
Is this really necessary?
Those two frames of jump animation took 2.5 years to develop. APPRECIATE THEM.

To be fair, the engine was constantly fighting against them for 2+ years. Coyote (back when he was the animator, congrats on the step up man) mentioned how hard it was to even modify animations in the engine, so I'm not mad that it took so long. What I am mad for, though, is how they saved it for the end of crimefest- I understand the Completely Overkill pack was supposed to happen then too, but even that would seem like a kick to the teeth by people who didn't buy it.
you cant anymore as overkill set the dlc to released state or something apparently
The pack was probably set as released at the moment we got the mega masks.
It's no surprise they said "no, micros aren't going away." with this. The order for them came from the top, from Starbreeze. Only if the marketing directors change their mind will it go away.
The game's still fun, and until they legitimately botch that, well.
Is this really necessary?
If you seriously spend that much on a skin, you are one of the whales.
Don't.
What a disgusting AMA. I don't know what I was expecting, but it definitely wasn't that.
"I know a vocal minority and the misguided media are upset, but the customers seem satisfied! ;)"
Who exactly does he think the customers are?
The unseen bottom of the iceberg who don't really interact with the community at large, I guess.
Almir's a community manager, so he's meant to talk on behalf of people like Bo to avoid shit like the "flashbangs are a surprise mechanic" gaffe, right? Because that AMA displays a severe lack of people skills.

Are we really still doijng this "YOU'RE WITH US OR YOU'RE AGAINST US" shit? Is it so hard to let people do what they want with their money? christ.
EDIT: oh looks like we are, can't wait for the next 10 pages to be absolutely painful to read.
Also I did the Pork Royale achievement, no drill nor safe. :(

By all means feel free to spend a month's rent on virtual skins, showing the almighty overlord Almir how correct he is in saying "fuck you guys, people are gobbling it up"

no, he's actually a Producer, so he also gets to influcence the direction the game goes towards

WHAT? There's places that only ask 75£ a month for rent? Sign me the fuck up
The game's still fun, and until they legitimately botch that, well.
This is basically what i am in right now
The game is great, i love the characters, i love how it plays, i love the general feel of it all
I practically just only hate the people in charge who only think of the money part of things are more important than the userbase
I'm not gonna completely stop buying things from them or DLC's, but i sure as hell am gonna be a lot less forgiving about the contents
If you seriously spend that much on a skin, you are one of the whales.

Why don't we reserve our judgement for Overkill?
Also I just realised that my comment seemed like I was attacking KennyAwsum. I wasn't, I was trying to be clever and it didn't work out. :s:
Just to clarify, I don't mind if you bought an expensive skin, in fact I think it's hilarious, and also great, if you've got the money to spend on that, good for you!
Restart your game
Yeah I've tried that, now I'm just gonna wait 15 mins (Already waited another 15), then start it up and see.
Time to post this again

Deliberately avoiding the point
I don't know about you guys but Payday 2 is slowly starting to feel like wasted potential to me.
It's like there can be so much more going on in order to make the game more interesting and exciting to play that's being disregarded so they can focus on shit like DLC and microtransactions.
I tried to get two friends into the game recently and it only took two heists for them to get exhausted with the gameplay and I guess that's kind of telling.
If you've got the time, this talk about Battlefield Heroes talks about a situation which is almost identical about what's happening with Payday 2

But the gist of it is: "Passionate players are going to be mad at you, but you'll be making more money than before".
Which is fine on in his own right. Overkill is not a club nor a charity.
But you can't then turn around and say "we really care about our community" while you come up with every possible way to suck more money out of your players and ignore community feedback because "disregard everything else, the system is profitable".

to be fair, I don't think it should be a with us or against us deal
but if you're spending that much money on a skin, you are directly supporting overkills practice, and ARE part of the 'problem' that the ama just pointed out: that people are buying lots of things from the market.

Ehh, gameplay wise the game is great. I started last week and am still going.
Did you do the fun heists with them?
Am I the only one who gets furious when almir replies and puts ";) " or some shitty smiley on the end?
feels like a 12 year old cunt being cheeky.

I didn't have any DLC so I just did Four Stores, Meltdown, Hoxton Breakout and FWB.
It was around Breakout that they started to get a bit sick of it especially since they aren't a huge fan of horde shooters.
I'm not exactly the best judge of which heists are 'fun' but I feel like they would have gotten tired no matter which ones I picked.

I suppose stick to stealth heists then, but that would probably get boring aswell without the sicknasty beats.
The first answer is literally "If it prints money, why stop?".
No, I'd rather they make Payday 3 instead of dicking around with this kind of shit.
I'd rather they just make PD3 with all the actual features and shit from PD2 AND THE DLCs FROM IT. I shouldn't have to buy the ability to use grenades and snipers wtf

Not to mention safehouse customization. At least some sort of money sink.

Honestly I think it's way too late to not be a 'part of the problem', the damage was done the minute people (myself included) bought into the Completely Overkill Pack on the hype train event. Nothing that we've bought into since then will have had as strong a message as that. There won't be many £75 purchases, you can pretty much write them off as anomalies, people with a lot more disposable income than the average player.
50,000 people paying £15/$20 for four masks and the promise of good content though, and to "support" Overkill, that was a big message. It told Overkill exactly how much they can get away with, and it's unfortunately a lot.
Let Coyoteze do the next AMA please.
I kind of wish I haven't bought all of the DLC and shit. Not because the game is bad but because I supported their shitty business practices. It's sad to see the developers turn away from "vets" and focus more on the "whales". I wasn't among the original P2P TF2 players but I guess this is what they felt like when the game started focusing more on hats, and less on new gameplay additions. The silver lining (or lack thereof) is that, with the MTs now in game, we might get less DLC. If this happens then I'm all up for it, since, unlike DLC packs (which bring new gameplay elements), I can just ignore the skins.
Edit:
Oops, never mind. I just read some more of the AMA.
We'll be making paid DLC when we have to, yes
Yeah, expect another weapon pack after Halloween (Which will just be the same as last year).
