If Overkill actually read these thread, for the love of fuck, please don't ruin what i've loved for all these years Fucking please
Too late. :v:
Overkill makes themselves sound like saints because they managed to keep the game alive for what, 2 years? Meanwhile, Valve has managed to keep TF2 alive for over 8 years and counting, WITHOUT paid DLC and micro-transactions that give you ADVANTAGES over others. [editline]25th October 2015[/editline] surprised that the game didn't go free-to-play
Someone on Reddit just noticed this, but: Wouldn't this technically apply to cheaters as well? You gain a ton of cash, win the heist instantly, you win together!! Haha, so much fun.
I feel that's a bad comparison- with how minor the cosmetic stats are, the most benefit you could glean from them is shooting more accurate bullets at a cop than another guy. Cheating ruins the experience completely through much worse methods (beating the heist instantly, spawning items that would not be there otherwise, and other such things), so it's much less of a reasonable thing.
surprised that the game didn't go free-to-play
they're saving that for next year's crimefest, if we the players manage to get a whopping 1,000 cumulative players online at once

[editline]25th October 2015[/editline] surprised that the game didn't go free-to-play
In Overkill's defense, Valve owns multiple franchises and the entirety of Steam, they make a profit with every single purchase. They were very well capable of supporting TF2 without any need for paid DLC simply because of all the money they were already getting from other sources. Buuuut, that still doesn't justify Overkill adding Microtransactions in addition to dozens of DLC, especially not when we know that Starbreeze is doing rather well without them already.

In fact, I guarantee they will, eventually.

It was retarded then and it's even more retarded to hear it come out of an actual developer.
I asked for apologies about the shitty crimefest and the lies Almir dodged it like a DW player pre-perkdeck balance update
Did that update actually break my build? I'll be really sad, though it explains why I can't crit worth shit anymore.
almir is a bullshit wizard

Now that they've seen our reactions, they'll most likely keep it steady.
Well, time to go play TF2, as it has better skins overall.
I remember there was a guy that used to flood and spam Steam forums and every update announcement since Gage Shotgun Pack with messages like "still no jumping animation". I hope he is happy now...
players loving almir's fisto
These answers are the most infuriating, just because he's obviously talking about money and -nothing- else. It's so painfully blatant. You could easily exchange 'players' with 'our accountants'
Does someone know something i can do that helps me forget I don't like feeling this miserable I wish i could just ignore everything I want the old days back
Seriously they just have to replace the stat boosts with stat track stuff and everyone will be happy Why don't they do this
These answers are the most infuriating, just because he's obviously talking about money and nothing else. It's so painfully blatant. You could easily exchange 'players' with 'our accountants'
It's really the sole reason why i am so angered, saddened and overall miserable It's obvious that he doesn't give a fuck about the players All he cares about is his fucking pay
It's really the sole reason why i am so angered, saddened and overall miserable It's obvious that he doesn't give a fuck about the players All he cares about is his fucking pay
Or, you know, the pay of everyone working at Overkill.
It's really the sole reason why i am so angered, saddened and overall miserable It's obvious that he doesn't give a fuck about the players All he cares about is his fucking pay
literally no large game developer in the universe cares more about the players than their paychecks
Does someone know something i can do that helps me forget I don't like feeling this miserable I wish i could just ignore everything I want the old days back
Don't worry, Overkill are riding the nostalgia train with the PD:TH ports, and will soon release the 'David Goldfarb™ children's birthday party with free bar heist', where we will steal his finely aged whiskey to dull the pain
http://www.reddit.com/r/paydaytheheist/comments/3q53ms/crimefest_is_over_ama_discussion_with_almir_on_the_road_ahead/cwcadzb Actual useful question that got dodged shamelessly
lukLX! I talked to Simon two days ago about this as he's spearheading the soundtracks. We're looking at fixing this in November. Thanks!
Finally!
Reposting from reddit: Just because the answers weren't the one you wanted, at least it's clear, microtransactions are here to stay. Of course there's still some bullshit going on, but Almir isn't just pulling everything from "Community Management 101" No useless hype, no smiley-wink-face ;), at least we know what's happening, and even if Overkill got a good history of unfulfilled promises, community communication will hopefully become better. I'm in now way happy with Overkill decisions, and I won't support them anymore, but even if the answers aren't the ones you expected, we still got some.
Well the best we can hope for is more fréquent free updates funded by skins [editline]25th October 2015[/editline] Almir has been "unintentionally" missing important questions for 1 hour now
And your soul
Well Goldfarb did want Payday 2 to be like Dark Souls so I guess that's only fair.
