Well Goldfarb did want Payday 2 to be like Dark Souls so I guess that's only fair.
He wanted the game to be like dark souls Not our souls to be dark
I don't think goldfarb knew what he was talking about when he said that. I mean seriously a game that empowers people through trial and error and through the spirit of jolly cooperation in a desolate medieval world is about as far from a bank heist fps action game can be.
Almir kicked my dog and replaced all the full cream milk in my fridge with skim milk Thats how much of a terrible person he is
I enjoy the fact that he keeps talking about how much money they need even though they LITERALLY JUST released their financial information that showed Starbreeze makes an absolute fuckton off of Payday.

Its been 2 days now and still no drill from either slaughterhouse or fwb. I'm starting to think Ovk doesn't like me
Yeah, and their financial report directly showed that it made MORE than enough to fund their other game developments. I'm not even exaggerating, it's holding the company up on its own.
I didn't feel like buying anything on sale during Crimfest, and now I really don't. I'm still likely to play Payday 2 for a little longer, but I think Overkill has gotten enough of my money if this is how things are going to be now. I just can't support them anymore if this is how things are going to be, we're just wallets waiting to be picked clean now.
They've got more than just PAYDAY under their belt though
Maybe it's time they do something with their other products then, rather than relying solely on Payday to support everything, this cash cow has sore udders [editline] [/editline] I regret that metaphor, it's gross
Almir kicked my dog and replaced all the full cream milk in my fridge with skim milk Thats how much of a terrible person he is
The final reward in next year's Crimefest will be Bo breaking into your home, pissing in your cornflakes and charging you $4.99 for it.

(This is not a defense!) For all we know, he could be right. A bunch of people spammed steam reviews and a bunch of people rated a Reddit thread. How many countless more quiet people are playing the game!e, making sales, buying drills, especially with the free weekend attracting the DOTA 2, TF2, and CS:GO crowds? Overkill only cares about money... But they're lying about getting money from microtransaction and secretly they're not getting any at all, but they're keeping the system anyway? Well... Which one is it?

I mean anyone got an estimate about how much money they probably made during that?
Does someone know something i can do that helps me forget I don't like feeling this miserable I wish i could just ignore everything I want the old days back
play PDTH for a whole month then come back, that should cure you from the so called disease "skinebula".
In spite of the massive negative reaction, people are making the system work. A lot of people in this thread who hate the skins will open a safe, get one, then sell it on the marketplace where Overkill makes a cut off every sale. Drills, safes, skins, they're profiting off the sales of all of them, which is the system working for them. And expecting them to stop skins dropping for weapons you don't own will literally never happen. In fact, that's likely the thing they want the most to happen. If you get a skin for a DLC weapon you don't own, then the best case scenario for them is that you actually buy the DLC for that weapon. But even if you don't, most people will just put that skin up on the market because they have no reason to hold on to it, making them a profit. Giving players useless skins is literally the best possibility to Overkill because there is almost garunteed money in that.

Imagine if once BLT comes back out, someone releases a script to just let everyone bamboozle skins for themselves without the need of safes the community can just flood the skins market and tank it, it'd be beautiful
This whole fiasco is really just the straw that broke the camels back, and I'm sick and tired of payday 2 now
play PDTH for a whole month then come back, that should cure you from the so called disease "skinebula".
I still load up PDTH, it has held up surprisingly.
I don't think you can really create skins to put on the market through hackery, Valve has the inventory system locked down pretty tight.
Unless of course people manage to hack both drills and safes into their game (rather than their steam inventory), which would then trigger the event of adding a skin item to their steam inventory once they open the 'fake' safes using their 'fake' drill. (It's already possible to get the skins into your in-game, non-steam inventory through the use of BLT and the appropriate lua scripts)
I still load up PDTH, it has held up surprisingly.
I played some PDTH last night. There's not very many people playing but god damn aside from the pretty bad textures it's awesome.
Almir: I thought people would be happy to see us introduce a system where people could get, trade, buy and sell items in PAYDAY 2, increasing the longevity of the game while not affecting the core experience. The success we're seeing with the system after 10 mere days justifies the change. Will it work in 6 months? We don't know. We'll continue do what we've always done, trying to make the game as fun as possible.
Jeez Almir, rebalancing the guns with what are essentially paid weapon mods in mind sounds like the complete opposite of what you're saying.
imagine a company bringing out microtransactions to fund more employees to make dlc faster.
When I'll finally get my 100%, I'll just hop back over to PD:TH for some good old fashioned masochism trials by fire on OVK 145+. Atleast untill this whole thing blows over or more achievement shenanigans happen. So far my biggest obstacle is Reputation Beyond Reproach, and that's because my friends mostly don't attempt this and pub teams being a guaranteed waste of time.
how i wish overkill reacted to the reaction: how overkill reacted:

Goldfarb wanted there to be a system which allowed us to "betray" our teammates and fook 'em. Glad that didn't happen. [editline]25th October 2015[/editline] but i mean there's already a kick system in place eh, eh?
What's your favorite Almir response in the AMA? On going back on their stance on micro-transactions:
Of course we knew what we had said, but we never thought it'd be taken as negatively as it did.
That's just golden right there. :tried:
Well Almir, the winking cunt, has basically made his statement. It makes us money, fuck you, deal with it, we're not changing it, we're rolling in our money pile, eat a dick and buy dlc kids ;) well, I reckon Payday's slowly dying, fans are ditching Overkill in droves, but there'll always be at least a few thousand people for Overkill to fucking leech on. There will always be corrupt, money grubbing companies, and I guess the best I can do is just walk away and let them live their little shit existence with their whales and forget about them. I dunno, I just feel sad about it all now. There really is no pulling back from this, and no redeeming anything. I kind of secretly hoped it would all get fixed and I could talk myself in to playing the game again, but, nope. We're done.
Man, seeing people uninstall is really sad. Like, people, fans, loyal fucking customers are leaving your game, and all they care about is fucking money.
I would probably uninstall but I made Payday 2 my daily dose of PvE fun when I officially left TF2 when it got gold weapons and kill sheen effects. Now story is repeating itself and I have no place to be safe.
