I sure wonder why adding Dead Man's Hand to the soundtrack is taking so long. It's already out on Bandcamp, what else is there to do besides uploading the same file to the Steam version?
everything's hard to do for overkill
It was quite easy for them to make part of the community leave.
Does anyone have a good dodge build?
Well, I decided to take up Almir's offer on a sit-down and tossed a tweet at his way. I really do hope we can find a middle ground at the very least. If worst comes to worst, I'll still finish w/e I have left and pass the torch to someone (or more, DMCWO practically being a one-man team leads to some odd choices.) willing to continue the project.
yea, you can't just spread the blame toward the higher-up company when the overkill spokesman is flinging shit like this, talking about how he was the one who talked with pd2stats. and they're independent anyways :^)
I truly think the most offensive thing of all of this is that Overkill still lies and pretends to be independent, it's insulting to actual independent devs and to their fanbase
[thumb]somebody ported over diamond heist. overkill said it takes months to do it.
he ported assets he didn't remake the whole fucking heists good to know tho,we can now ADD assets to the game
somebody ported over diamond heist. overkill said it takes months to do it.
Yeah let's be honest that is literally just an empty map
Yeah let's be honest that is literally just an empty map
Shhhh, don't interrupt them, all the cool kids are desperately looking for what else they can bash Overkill.
Yeah let's be honest that is literally just an empty map
Yeah but we couldn't add new assets to the game before that's another big step for modding [editline]26th October 2015[/editline] anyone know how much time there is between drills/safes drop?
Here's how I would have arranged this Crimefest (commentary by Andy the average PD2 player): Day 1: Video of PD2 crew finding the archives, where all the old heists are recorded. Introducing First World Bank and a note of FWB being the first half of classic heists. "Classic heists, hell yeah" Day 2: filler "Still hyped about FWB" Day 3:LMG, bipods, weapon rework, weapons customization rework. "First free LMG, awesome!" Day 4: filler, hint of day 5's heist. "Sweet, we're getting another classic heist tomorrow" Day 5: Aftershock heist. "We'll get THREE heists? This totally exceeds my expectations, unlike building too much hype which leads to disappointment" Day 6: filler "Hyped about tomorrow's classic heist" Day 7: Slaughterhouse heist "What a great end to Crimefest, glad they didn't put those dumb meme masks as the grand finale." 1 week after the Crimefest: The Black Market Update Crimefest could have easily been 1 week instead of 10 days, nobody's going to complain about having some filler days being merged. Start with the good stuff that everyone will like, the classic heists and leave the 2nd classic as the last day, not some ridiculous meme masks and simple jump animations. Most importantly, Black Market update would have been a lot easier to swallow if they could just say "If you don't like it, just play the 3 heists we gave you last week. And hey, at least we didn't make you guys do stupid achievements for it or call it a free update" Same amount of free content, same amount of greedy DLC bullshit but the backlash would have been a lot smaller.

That port in the video was doable because the floors on Diamond Heist are models. He did some model swaps, then added them to a map (like Golden Grin Casino)

Right now, I still think proper modding tools would be the best way for Overkill to redeem themselves. That would help ensure the longevity of the game, and modders might even fix and improve a few things that Overkill won't. It'd be totally awesome, I hope Overkill doesn't pass up that chance for some bullshit reason.

We won't get official tools but maybe a better support. Also not that some peoples are working on a map tool.

the overkill we all knew and grew up with as the game did has changed. I don't mean this in the dramatic soapbox stance, I just mean that the company has drastically changed and it chose a poor time to show the community that. please don't read this wrong, again, I'm not saying OVERKILL IS DEEEEEEAD DROP YOUR SUPPORT AND GATHER ARMS it's unfortunately just business. businesses change. always. they handle it particularly adeptly? obviously up to debate. the overkill that some of us may have experience with at the time of PD:TH isn't present anymore. they didn't labor over the wolf pack in TH like they have with other DLCs, where your purchase really meant support of the company. it meant support for their labor more than anything at that point. a means to keep them just barely afloat. now purchases are supporting a BUSINESS. a company. you can still do the aforementioned support, but your money sings to a different song, now. that's all. felt like some people here needed to hear that. p.s. dougley, I hope for your sake you're right, because you're starting a movement that people are desperate to grab onto whether it's right or wrong.
No way to make money of it.
What about a Modding Tools DLC? Oh shit, shouldn't have said that out loud...
What about a Modding Tools DLC? Oh shit, shouldn't have said that out loud...
well then it's a good thing you typed it and didn't say it or maybe you typed it really loud?
