Go ahead Overkill. Keep releasing safes, with achievements that give you free drills. You're just funding my FO4/Vermintide
i actually like the idea of those achievements, good to know players who are against black market update can still get free skins without paying a single penny, infact if overkill gave us monthly event achievements like these to get a drill and safe for free then these achievements if completed constantly you can get like a dollar or more each month for every skin you sell in the market
Was looking at junk on steam and this caught me off guard. [t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/404556073535210871/7B258CA27D4D018EBB98BD330938630A90CF9F1F/[/t] For a split moment I thought it was some out of the blue halloween crossover. Actually just someone's L4D2 addon with a impressively well done custom mask they made. I did consider linking the image and saying it was Day 3 and putting 'HAHA, FOOLED YA GUYS' in spoilers but that's kind of a dick move. By the way, if you subscribe to that addon, make sure to subscribe to PAYDAY 2 Heister Support. When you subscribe to these guy's Nick heister or any of Salad's heisters, you're only downloading the body textures, head, and mask. The Support addon contains the shared models and animations. It's to cut down on space as most heisters share models, save for head and mask, so it's not another full model and set of animations per addon. Basically if you don't get it all your heisters will be T-pose, missing textures and broke as shit m8
Stylizing the game's name as PayDay just looks so wrong to me, I don't know why. [editline]29th October 2015[/editline]
Nick Stuff
That mask fits for Payday, I like this a lot. [editline]29th October 2015[/editline] They added a third hidden achievement, called "or" today.
Having a L4D2 Nick replacement for Bonnie would certainly fit the Gambler perk deck.
If only Payday was easily moddable as how L4D2 is. For comparison, the entire Payday gang are available as model replacements in L4D2, including an addon that replaces all of Nick's lines with Hoxton's. I mean, with enough effort it could be done. I remember back before L4D2 contained L4D1 content, people replaced Rochelle with Zoey. Thing was Zoey lacked lines for calling Coach, Ellis and Nick, as well as the Jockey, Charger and Spitter. The creators just ended up splicing a metric fuckload of lines together, eg: "What the hell?" + "Listen, do you hear that?" = "Ellis". With enough effort you could make Nick say all the heister names and specials, but christ it would be time consuming and painful. And then there's successfully replacing Bonnie's suit and head model, with rigging and animations to boot.

Meanwhile in payday we can't even replace correctly models, and can't replace animations at all
I wonder how hard it would be to port PD2 on Source and how different the game would feel.
Meanwhile in payday we can't even replace correctly models, and can't replace animations at all
We can replace a surprising amount of models properly, character models are the exception. And we can replace animations, we just can't necessarily make new ones. After I got Spy (model tool dude) off his ass to fix some bug he made, it allowed for vertex editing on character models. I even made this abomination a while back: [t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/383161437190942466/0A581BE7BA05630AD065A8D06CAB6DAF33C7A417/?interpolation=lanczos-none&output-format=jpeg&output-quality=95&fit=inside|1024:576&composite-to=*,*|1024:576&background-color=black[/t]

[editline]29th October 2015[/editline] probably because we can't do anything else
That's been done before, someone got the PD:TH incap animations to replace PD2's. It actually worked, he replaced the: Fall down animation The 5 poses of looking North East South West and Up, game blends between the poses in both PDTH and PD2 Fully KO'd pose Get back up animation Someone also once ported through the PDTH Shield unit, his shield, his gun and all animations. Only thing off about both of those mods were the character's hands would be collapsed into their wrists for whatever reason. I would be interested in other game's anims or new ones (replacing others).

The problem is that PDTH cops have a different bone structure so they look messed up.
I just want halo stuff in payday That wouldn't fit but seriously that would be badass

Speaking of animation replacements, my game crashes when using the PD:TH cop models, anyone else getting it too?
That post on reddit and this latest discussion only serves to remind me: Payday 2's engine fucking sucks. Poorly optimized, has pretty much zero asset modding support besides rudimentary texture mods and craps out way too much with the mouse acceleration. It's still fun but damn, what convinced Overkill to use a fucking car game engine for this? I bet you one skin that if PD2 was automagically ported to Source or Source 2, it'd run ten times better, look better and just be better overall.

And I don't think it really matters if the engine was originally made for a racing game. Just look at Source, it was made for a FPS game but today it has a lot of unique games and mods that aren't FPS exclusively, like Dota 2. Payday's bugs are on Overkill's shoulders. [editline]29th October 2015[/editline] And I have to say, the game would lose its charm if it'd be ported to Source. Because of Diesel we can do stuff like climbing walls by tapping spacebar repeatedly, because of Diesel we can sprint-jump-crouch, and other small stuff like that. Personally, I don't want CSGO: Heist Mode.
A few screens I decided to take [t]http://puu.sh/l1qKm/9f0d5efa1f.jpg[/t] S-Sundowner? [t]http://puu.sh/l1qJz/5934898dd1.jpg[/t] What the fuck is this eyesore. [t]http://puu.sh/l1saG/912b062223.jpg[/t] [sp];^)[/sp][sp]This stuff isn't finalized btw[/sp] Also as to why I'm back on PD2, Zenyr (PocoHUD's dev) made an update/announcement for PocoHUD that also somewhat addressed OVK's latest shenanigans. His intro sentence to it made me realize I was doing exactly what he didn't want to do, that being to add more salt onto the injury by leaving. With that in mind, on top of my already conflicting feelings from me stepping down and all that, it didn't sit right with me in the end. So on that, I'm more or less back just for whomever may follow my mods. Sorry for being an indecisive/overreacting/etc. idiot/moron/etc. And sorry if you thought me leaving was a good thing :^) You have to admit the latest rebalance is a hot mess though. What is suspension of disbelief OVK? 9mm >>> 7.62 NATO?? Like really?
Source brings it's own problems to the table if Payday were put on that I'm pretty sure there's a lot more that can be broken in a new engine than an engine they know I myself am really interested in Starbreeze's newly aquired engine, maybe that would be better?
Regarding optimization, it doesn't help that sometimes they muck up map occluders like with Big Bank on release and HM Day 2.

OVK clearly half assed their 'car to FPS' conversion, perhaps not through any fault of their own, but things are pretty damn clunky nonetheless. Besides, I'm sure you could keep those pseudofeatures. I like them too, but they're still buggy things born out of a buggy ass engine. Maybe you could implement them as actual features; certain walls let you tap space a lot to climb them and you can get a ghost skill to do the sneakyfast jump.
heee's back
I'd be pretty upset too if all my work got uprooted like that. It really, really doesn't help that they did all the P2W skin shit at the same time and the pd2stats controversy got revealed... it was all a pretty huge clusterfuck and I don't fault anyone for calling it quits.
Okay, it's official. The Alesso Heist must be cursed or something. Since it came out I've tried to play it, but have either failed to connect to the host, experienced a host with atrocious lag, lost connection to the host halfway through the heist, or have been kicked for unknown reasons. It's almost comical at this point how many times I've tried to no avail. :v:
locking crouch jumping and space mash climbing behind skills sounds like what they did to being able to sprint in every direction, and everybody hated that. I don't think we need more skills like moving target.
Anyone else think vertical grips on shotguns a la Duke Nukem style would be cool? [thumb]http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/dukenukem/images/a/a5/ShotgunDNF.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20120520022614[/thumb]
Yeah the pd2stats fiasco was just... wow. Tats was a bigger man than me for sticking through that BS though. I just do what I do in my free time, Tats was screwed over on a financial level. I mean, I don't know if pd2stats/LBG are run on donations or not (or a mix) but regardless, he's out a whole server cost's worth.
Okay, it's official.
