They do that with Spanish (and even English) too :v:
Oh god don't get me started with the Spanish translations, they're horrible. You'd think they would have done something about them by now.
Wasn't captain winters supposed to be the gensec enemy He seems to be working with the MPD here
I thought the Gensec enemy was supposed to actually, you know, have effort put into it so it would be something new instead of just an existing enemy variant. And with the way Viklund kept teasing everybody by saying it would be an enemy with a degree on emphasis on sound, it almost seemed like it was going to be a unique thing, but apparently not. I guess the lesson here is not everything Overkill lays out to us regarding their plans is going to go the exact way they initially lay out on the table. Unfortunately, it seems like it's always very far off initial projected idea.
He spent his entire life in Japan in organized crime, and what he didn't spend in organized crime was spent in prison. He gets out, kills the people who put him there, then basically immediately heads to America to find the guy who knows where his son is. He never really spent much time taking English lessons because he arguably doesn't give a shit about America.
then maybe he should be doing that instead of making meth with the payday gang jiro is possibly the worst addition
then maybe he should be doing that instead of making meth with the payday gang jiro is possibly the worst addition
Pretty sure Bain is forcing him to work for the crew in exchange for info about his son.
Don't forget the Japanese character is associated with ninjas and speaks in a very...yellowface-like way.
Is it bad when I read that I thought. "Eh? He sounds nothing like Homer Simpson".....*penny drops*...."Oh.."
Also those nuke containers labeled with the word "кое-что"(koe-shto, something) literally killed me.
Also those nuke containers labeled with the word "кое-что"(koe-shto, something) literally killed me.
Did you have an aneurysm when they did the page for the Sokol character pack?
Did you have an aneurysm when they did the page for the Sokol character pack?
That was incredibly hard and painful to read, I almost wished that they'll just go full VODKA SPUTNIK CHEEKI-BREEKI instead of those letters.
Pretty sure Bain is forcing him to work for the crew in exchange for info about his son.
He became so annoying he'll soon force him to go away in exchange of these infos
I tend to drop dead every other time I look at the subtitles in this game.
I tend to drop dead every other time I look at the subtitles in this game.
Payday's writing in general could benefit from native English-speaking writers, most of the voicelines feel like they were written by me, i.e. cheesy and sometimes incorrect
The Go Bank has some cringey lines I can't handle. Especially those call signs.
Well it is trying to be a serious parody of operator mentality.
Pretty sure they have spelt Hydrogen incorrectly in one of Bain's lines.
Payday's writing in general could benefit from native English-speaking writers, most of the voicelines feel like they were written by me, i.e. cheesy and sometimes incorrect
Personally I think it's gotten better in that regard, in The Heist it was really obvious that the guys behind it weren't exactly fluent in English, in PD2 it's gotten better.
Seriously Overkill, An open beta to fix Windows XP problems. Good to see that MT money is getting put to good use to fix the games many problems. *sigh*
unfortunately, a head replacement did NOT work out too well, as the animations were broken and it would always crash my game on online, so instead i did a mask replacement, much like the big boss one, and just like the big boss one.. it clips too.. [t]http://i.imgur.com/C01AwQ6.jpg?1[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/geGZXBK.jpg?1[/t] Currently its replacing the frank mask, but thats just a placeholder, any suggestions of other mask replacements?
here's the technical breakdown of the beta fix, took me a bit to breakdown the code: get off of XP
I'd really love to know how many people who play Payday 2 actually use XP. That must be some notable demographic if Overkill deemed it necessary to attempt to fix issues with a pretty old OS.

Thet could do a beta for the weapons and perk decks rebalance. Nope,a whole beta to fix crashs on an old OS.
when crimefest came around apparently they removed the xp compatible flag in the .exe which made it not work (which they should never readd.)
when crimefest came around apparently they removed the xp compatible flag in the .exe which made it not work (which they should never readd.)
Yeah, god forbid some users stuck on an older OS can play the game. I want to see more people upgrade, too, but the fact is, is that not everyone has that luxury. Complaining that they're fixing this is kind of a dick move.
It's nice that they fix them But did we really need a beta for this
It's nice that they fix them But did we really need a beta for this
There are probably a few more engine differences to account for XP, and they didn't want to drop the update without testing since they seem not to have any XP-equipped machines. They mention in the announcement it could eat the savefile, so.. that's probably why they decided to do a beta.
Yeah, god forbid some users stuck on an older OS can play the game. I want to see more people upgrade, too, but the fact is, is that not everyone has that luxury. Complaining that they're fixing this is kind of a dick move.
I do agree that it's not fair to yell at people without knowing circumstances. it's also fair to have some form of support for an OS that a third (last I checked official stats) of desktops are still using a variant of XP. but it's also just as fair to point out that it's a 12 and a half year old OS, it no longer receives official updates or security measures, and multiple studios have cited that XP is holding back development in some avenues. frameworks are also being written around it. use whatever OS you want, yeah. but naturally support ends at some point; it's the nature of things
Damn, we got some XP hate up in here. I-I just want to be in the cool kids club too, guys.
Anyone got some tips for Boston Saints and/or reputation beyond reproach? To be honest after all this crap with the drills I'm getting sick of PD2 but I don't want to drop it when I'm so close to 100%ing.

There needs to be Linux support for Payday.
There needs to be Linux support for Payday.
Does Wine for Linux not work on Payday 2?
