I personally thought that the whole skins with extra stat increases was far from microtransactions. Yes, while you CAN buy a skin on the steam community market that has +2 stability, it'l be a negligible increase and you're really not gaining much from it.
But this new thing with the whole team boosts is literal microtransactions to the point where a mobile game would have it
Those +stab guns are only the tip of the iceberg man. Some skins let you hit 30+ concealment even with damage mods, which makes Fugicealment builds insanely broke, some skins give you +1 damage and that's critical for hitting the various breakpoints in the game. For example the minigun deals like 39 damage, throw in a 1 and it deals 40.
Every single step of this was calculated, optimized and developed with maximum profit in mind. There is no denying the fucking despicable shit that Overkill will pull just to get an extra dollar. Just wretched.
Thought this was interesting

Except this data starts from April, when the active community still praised Overkill and months before microtransactions were a thing.
I'd like to see another graph like this 6 months after the Black Market update.
Also it shows peak player numbers, which could mean that the data could get distorted by people playing the game for just 10 minutes after an update hits. I dunno how many snapshots per day this site takes, but averages sort of prevent the above.

kiddies that will open crates with their mom's credit card is payday's new audience and overkill has established that
there's a reason payday has more players but this thread and payday discussions in actual communities have slowed to a crawl everywhere
Christ this thread is a lot slower than I remember it ever being, have that many of the players here just quit all together?

There's nothing to be said anymore, really. Just look deeper and deeper into the fucking pit that Overkill's digging themselves into until whatever light we've got stops penetrating the blackness.
Granted they'll probably worm their way all the way through the planet so we can still admire their handiwork.
I just can't be bothered to care about Payday for the moment with Fallout and COD basically taking most of my time
It's a good distraction
Idk what you others are doing
I just lurk

Playing Vermintide and hoping Fatshark don't go the way of OVK, cause they're already starting to use an alternating free/paid DLC model.
Really though this game is great and works well as a PD2 replacement for me.
I guess I got lucky when I bought Dark Souls before all that Crimefest happened, now I'm sinking my time doing jolly cooperation. When DMC's WO gets updated me and some of my friends will play Payday 2 for some good old fun.
Lucky me Fallout 4 and Star Wars Battlefront have come out. Don't need to worry about a time sink when I finish my homework early any more.
CS:GO, TF2, a little gmod here and there, a metric fuckton of Insurgency, some PD:TH and occasionally GTA V.
And i'll most likely sink all of my time in Siege when it comes out.
man I sure wonder if they'll ever touch the soundtrack again
Whenever I play, I don't have fun anymore; I see all the things left unfixed, probably forever. It just frustrates me playing this game at all.
I'll go back to playing when Overkill adds something worth my time.
I tried playing again, on public with you-know-what-LUA, I didn't get kicked and we succeeded, but I still felt sore :(
nowadays I just boot up payday and choose one of the thirty-something odd DLC achievements I haven't done. so I spend 5 minutes doing one and call it a day, then repeat that the next day
either that or beating all the newer heists on DW since I didn't really need to with the mask obtained and all.
honestly to be expected after hitting XXV-100 where beforehand i'd spend maybe an hour a day trying to hit that. the game has lasted me for 1k+ hours so I guess I picked a good time to start getting burnt out overall, ahah.

No I don't know what lua can you please tell me

It'll take more that that to trick me foolish Mossad Agent!

It's a tiny file. I mean, all I have to do is click a button - and it's uploaded with a pomf, at the haste of a cat running at full speed. However, it's not something you share everyday, right? People should be really careful with a file of that power. But I see you are up for an exciting adventure. Look for it in the .rar. Just don't forget your BLT, or else you will find youself hungry.
It's pretty ironic how I used to bless OVK and damn COD for their dlc models
And now I am preferring COD over Payday 2 :v
I haven't played for maybe 6 months. I just lurk the thread to keep tabs on if the game ever becomes worth playing again.
I'm waiting for something new (and free) to happen but at this rate the safehouse customization can't be more than buying props with predefined placement in the safehouse, and DLCs linked to it.
So, Overshill is still silent about team boosts?

That graph is also way too condensed to show the whole picture, here's what it looks like

Peak is day 10 of crimefest. It's still in recovery mode from the event but it's dropping back to normal.
I don't think the number of players is going to take a significant hit regardless, at least in the short term. The real question is how many of the people left are going to be buying anymore DLC.
man I sure wonder if they'll ever touch the soundtrack again
I could buy a yacht with the amount of times that they've said they'll add to the soundtrack but haven't done so :v

There's a reason why he has a big overkill next to his name you know
Didn't see that November ETA. Still, what could it possibly be that's preventing them from literally adding two files that are already on Bandcamp?
