I'd be more interested in it if it wasn't for the incredibly sour taste they've left in my mouth with the last few updates still.
I feel like if they really wanted to "apologize" they would have done a lot more than they have.
The ride truly never ends. Can't wait so see how this falls apart. Someone actually said that this rogue Murkywater guy might be a Bain stand-in.
Bain Breakout?
what about not-gage?
Corrected

peoples are saying locke is an aussie.
would make sense.
what about the butcher
would put money on never seeing the butcher again in new content. by that, I mean new mira furlan lines or trailers and not merely branding content as "The Butcher's LMG Mod Pack!" or whatever.
it's the unfortunate side-effect of having fairly prominent actors in your game, you'll have to rehire them if you release anything in the future that you hadn't thought of or were too early in development at the time of shooting. sort of the bummer aspect of the golden grin too, where if we do end up figuring out what the dentist's loot is, we're surely not going to get lines from him about it. I mean, he didn't even speak in the golden grin conclusion screen. just silence.
Pretty sure this heist won't have Bain in it.
not much hope since they fucked up the message
I mean, the only thing they put in this update and already fucked it up?

Gotta get everyone at the office working on those new Murkywater safes

Well, I think this is intentional

They didn't fuck it up, it's suppose to look like someone hacked into Crime.Net which it does
What pisses me off now is that the 7 DLC that COP owners got, what if some own them already? Why wouldn't the duplicated ones go to our steam inventories as gifts? That would be better
the thing that annoys me the most is they probably didn't do this just to be generous to the COP owners, because let's be honest if the COP owners (like myself) are willing to spend that amount of money on an unknown reward, they're likely to have the other DLC'S too.
it just reeks of covering their asses because they saw the backlash from the safes giving skins for guns you don't have, there would have been ever more uproar if that happened on the COP safe too.
They didn't fuck it up, it's suppose to look like someone hacked into Crime.Net which it does
Yeah, I'm vaguely surprised that everyone went to "THEY DIDN'T PUT THE LOCALIZED TEXT IN GG OVERKILL" instead of "it's supposed to look like that because it's a hack"
I mean, oh boy if you were hacking into a thing you'd make sure all your gloat-strings were properly localized, right?

Why does it look exactly like the error text when localized text is missing then?
I mean I doubt crime.net is actually made under diesel, and by that I mean the crime.net the heisters use.
Well, it is a legit error message for a missing string. Two rather.
I love it how people think the fake error message is an actual bug. Really shows how good OVK is.
Considering the background is strobing it looks more like a hack instead of a bug, even if it was a bug the text box would be blue like the other menus
Well it also depends on how you look at it.
I frequently see "ERROR:*string_id here*" since I mess around with gun/attachment/melee descriptions that don't exist. Seeing it in what I'm assuming is an "official" manner is kinda weird to look at.
Also, anyone remember the "SWAT Van Turret causing crashes because OVK removed a table value that the game still checked for which resulted in shit retuning 'nil' and breaking the game" and the "always 10 damage flamethrower because someone forgot PD2 uses an index value for damage and not the old PDTH damage system"?
I wouldn't put it past OVK to forget string data when those two bugs are possibilities.

It's coded to be red in colour.

I'm willing to bet they had the proper strings in their developer strings file, they just neglected to put it in the normal strings file.
Shipping the dev strings to fix some missing string IDs was how that Jiro leak happened a while back.
Shadow Raid was leaked like that too, IIRC.
It is also untranslated in other languages. Usually Overkill are trying to translate even "generic" stuff:

Armadillo on that Murkywater emblem instead of a shark.
Calling it now that this has some connection to Sydney.

10/10 overkill

The armored transport heists were called Armadillo heists internally, clearly it means we have to secure Sydney from those heists.

10/10 overkill
It doesn't even have a proper projectile model either, it uses the stock one.

I was saying if it was a generic error the box would be blue, not red
Seeing that there are people defending overkill's obvious incompetence makes me realize why they didn't back off with their recent decisions

what if it's actually broken, but they decided to leave it that way for added authenticity
either way it's a) being talked about and b) did a job well enough that you can't tell whether it's intentional or not
what if it's actually broken, but they decided to leave it that way for added authenticity
Looking at the lua (and the lack of a hotfix), that seems to be the case.
EDIT:

Some new sound IDs. They don't work right now, but the way they're set up suggests that they're related to briefing dialogue for a heist.
Play_loc_quote_set_a
And this is the sound ID for his hack dialogue. Go annoy lobbies with it.
What if this rouge Murky is actually Sydney?
Like someone said above, the emblem is an armadillo instead of a shark for some reason, and the guy sounds vaguely australian to me.
But it doesn't matter, what does is that we're getting a Murkywater flavored Dissapointment Box!
GUYS THE SAFEHYPE GO GET IT

But armadillos are only on the American continents, they've got nothing to do with Australia
