The system isn't designed to rank you up just because you're playing correctly, it's designed to rank you up when you demonstrate you can outperform your skill group.

We were the same rank and he killed more players in that game, it was against a team who were all the same rank iirc (it was a while ago now). It's MVP's which count ,more kills should get you them but if there's a sucesful bomb plant or defuser then the top fragger won't win the MVP that round. It was literally the only variable which i had in my favor and i laughed about it for a week afterwards. I was having a particularly shit day while he was having one of his best, and the game decided to reward me with a rank up.

Regardless scores and kills don't mean you're a better player. Pop flashing and smokingfor teammates to get kills don't score you anything, neither does hearing the enemy push short from CT and calling in the early rotate to beat them or just holding an angle on the off chance somone has flanked behind you while the rest of your team kills all 5 enemies on site, so on and so on. There's alot of vital stuff to winning rounds that are not just kills so it's entirely feasable to be a better player and yet have nothing to show for it in your score or K/D.

I know its designed that way, i was just trying to make the point that as long as you do your part to win the game, you deserve to rank up.

If you aren't actually forced to defend the site, no you don't. Doing your part to win the game doesn't mean you're better than your skill group.

I just think that the current system encourages bad playstile as in greedy going for the defuse rather than saving an awp or playing aggresiv to get kills instead of letting the enemys push. I understand that the game has no data to judge your skill if youre not encountering your opponents but still its feels like such a waste of time in those games where you just dont see any action or making crucial kills and then your teammate gets the mvp for defusing.

That's what I thought too, but when you talk to high skilled players (13+ RWS) they say 4:3 is better but I don't understand why.
