Cause I was lucky enough to talk to some players and employees the other day to get people to try to hook us up.
Manager saw a bunch of kids sitting outside the venue huddled around a phone. Asked us for our stories and tried to hook us up with a good experience to make up for our lost trip. He told us he can try to get us to meet most the people at the event later.
My first time was CS:GO and I got invited to a matchmaking lobby. The guys there were Silver Elites and one unranked.
I didn't really know much about the CS as a franchise back then and it's somewhat astonishing to see how much I progressed from that first match.
Now that I think about it, I've made a lot of friends through it. Just last week I went to meet up with couple people that I had been playing MM with a lot.
I come back to the ESWC stream to watch n0thing get the final kill of an ace clutch vs EnVy.
Waiting for c9 to come outside.

They let us in front of the fence where the spectators had to stay behind, so we got pretty close to the players.
What was your first time playing CS?
I just remembered it was CS 1.5 in local internet cafe.
I was kid back then and was playing with guys that were like 18-20.
I used to ask them to set up game for me or connect me to their game because I didn't know any English and 1.5 menu was complicated as fuck if you don't know the language.
It was fun times, it's crazy to imagine where CS started and where it's now tbh.
I think I got CSGO because it was on sale, played some, didn't really enjoy it.
Then the Arms Deal update came, I bought a key and unboxed one crate. Got an M4A1-S, sold it, unboxed another one, then unboxed an AK Case Hardened, sold, and stopped playing CS for another 2 years.
Flash forward a bit, I started watching competitive and got into CS.
I started playing CS back in Jr. High with like...CS 1.4. I bought it and didn't know how it worked and thought you had to pay monthly for it because it was online only. A friend helped me get set up and now here I am 13 or so years later.
Bought it on christmas eve 2013 while getting some late gifts for friend's on steam, and then started playing a bit with Rossy167 after a little while and slowly got hooked on it.
Any gold novas feel like playing?
Can anyone share with me the youtube video of this, but with csgo ranks?

This is me trying to defuse every single time when bomb is planted A.
So many tight corners to plant the bomb and you just don't see it at times, goddamnit
My first time with CS was CSS in 2008. Bought to ValvE complete pack and my brother kept saying I should play CS:S, I was like, no I probably wouldn't like it.. Eventually I gave in.
Anyway long story short..

Every time I hear silvers fight about their ranks I always start thinking about this gif.

Not entirely sure why though.

My brother brought home CS from school one day, I remember it being around 2nd grade for me, and I've been playing ever since. I would say that's about 15 years ago give or take. Nipper maps were a god send back then and I'm pretty sad that it didn't make it into GO.
I don't really care much for the competitive focus in GO, I just have been playing with friends and getting back into CS for the hell of it.
Don't rush with AWP they said :v:

Guy that showed us around wanted me to share that they let us in for a quick tour so I made a reddit post. I got a couple messages that it was bad for eswc because of strict Quebec liquor licenses, but there were underage players inside so I don't know if I should keep the post up.

Doesn't hurt to be sure.
Besides the players are probably specially permitted to be there, unlike underaged fans such as you and your friends.
Shroud plays 16x9 if I recall. He's not an entry fragger or awper, but he hits his shots.
I'm doing bloodhound missions, and one of them is to win 8 matches in competitive mode on Season. I've only played comp a couple of times, I stick to causal games mostly, why is it taking so long to find a match? I've been waiting for 15 minutes, decided to change acceptable ping a bit higher and still didn't help nearly 10 minutes and still nothing?
Is it not possible to play competitive by yourself on maps such as Season?
I have 1500 hours in cs:go.
Any ideas?

because nobody at your rank is queueing for it right now? just try again later or with more people

It's possible to get a match in season. I even solo queued and was matched against my rank. But it took around 20 mins to get a match. Just be patient when you're alone. But just to be safe get a 5 man team going.

I usually have to wait the standard 2-2:30 minutes max, most of the time I get a yoloqueue match on season within the first minute.

Honestly I kind of wish I was old enough back when the older CSs were bigger, My father was big into CS and Half Life before his nerve damage so it was a given we were going to get CSS. I tried CSS online back when it was in beta and got my arse whooped (I was like 7, what else was going to happen), so I stayed right away from CS as a whole and played CoD / Halo instead on the up and coming consoles.
After switching from an xbox / ps3 to the computer in 2010 for CoD, a friend gave me a copy of the beta for CS:GO in early 2013 (and 8000 hours+ CoD games later) and I decided to give it another shot. If it wasn't for another person I used to play CoD with telling me the basic concepts of GO (movement mechanics, recoil mechanics) I'd be even worse than I am right now.
I vaguely remember trying CS on an offline game on Assault, it had a brush based truck that the CTs started near. Can't remember what version that was in, don't think 1.6 has the truck anymore.

Fucking loved that truck. the moment I realized you could go into it and look at cameras inside the warehouse my mind was blown.
7 MVPs stars for n0thing at halftime, that is the most impressive thing I've seen in a while

n0thing has been playing absolutely amazingly this entire match. Dragging Cloud9 through that T side.
Though it was a really bad call for Na'Vi to leave long completely alone for how many rounds on CT.
