I used to have a mod that somewhat normalized the sound volume levels like it was in CS 1.6. footsteps louder gun sounds less loud.

Was a blast being able to actually play Counter Strike while listen to music and not be completely oblivious of whats going on.

I guess looking back on it, in certain specific situations where gunsounds and footsteps overlap i could be kinda unfair, but i don't worry too much about that 10 years ago.

Got back into master guardian elite last night, those sweet crossed AKs.
Managed to get there shortly after CSGO was released, then took a looong break so my rank got reset to gold 1.
It was A LOT easier to get there back then. Now I was stuck at gold 3/first guardian for a really long time.

Tracers no longer go where gun hits, because clientside hits and serverside hits are not in sync anymore.
You should actually just disable tracers as they are misleading.

Watching tracers to correct will introduce error from your reaction time and spread. Spread is biased towards the center of the cone so aiming better always has a benefit even if you're inaccurate.
