Well I achieved my summer goal of ranking up to Global Elite! Now I gotta change my plans!

Game wont derank you if you get good mvp counts. I've been playing with mg2 friends and losing constantly yet i got lots of mvp's in the end, so i save my rank for another day.
not that many hackers in LE tbh. Lots of smurfs though
Who smurfs at LE it's only like 3 ranks away from global, whats the point.
draws are so boring, i wish there was overtime.
I don't think that's true, my friend actually said he got more experience from his weekly bonus when he played more? Like, he played loads of missions and suddenly he got a massive weekly bonus. They don't start at 7 days, the first time it's like 20 minutes or so? It's just when people leave matches too many times in a short period of time, the cooldown gets longer.
I haven't abandoned a game in 4-5 months, I just did and I got a 7 day cool down..

That code is deprecated on PC however and those calculations aren't currently used on PC. When competitive matchmaking as we know it now was introduced in CS:GO in late 2012 we switched all non-competitive game modes to use simple ping-based matchmaking. For Competitive, we built a CS:GO-specific competitive ranking system that is significantly different and more complex than Elo. The CS:GO competitive ranking system started with ideas based on Glicko-2 rating model and improved over time to better fit the CS:GO player base. All computations are performed on our matchmaking backend and multiple matchmaking parameters describing scientific set of rating variables of a player are represented to players as a their Skill Group. You should be able to find papers on rating systems involving rating volatility and rating deviations online to get a better idea about why our complex competitive matchmaking parameters cannot be represented as a single numeric value.
Literally first comment
I'm so glad CS:GO accounts in actual game performance for ranking. It's so bullshit in LoL (and any other team based competitive game) where it's you either win a set amount or lose a set amount. Even if you weren't even doing that bad or you barely lost.

Is it based on some official Valve information or what ? The actual rank system doesn't seem to work the way he described, it seems to be thousands of times more complex than that. edit:
Debug output mentioned in the guide comes from game client code having very old calculations that were used by Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game where client calculations could be trusted and matchmaking used round-based skill adjustments in order to support drop-in and drop-out gameplay on consoles. So I'm probably right, the one used now is far more complex than that, I'd say that the actual rank system counts everything you do in game. At least for me it seems to count many factors.
It feels so good to go on a winstreak against people who are steadily higher rank every game you play. In theory. Sometimes it boggles me how people so bad could be in LE, and we just destroy them. But the stressful games are the good ones, where you really have to fight for the win. In other news, LEM
Is there any difference between a mechanical keyboard a normal one? I've been looking for a new keyboard but i'm not sure if i should buy a gaming keyboard or a 10€ office keyboard
Is there any difference between a mechanical keyboard a normal one? I've been looking for a new keyboard but i'm not sure if i should buy a gaming keyboard or a 10€ office keyboard
Once you use a mechanical keyboard, all other ones feel like mush. Go mechanical
Is there any difference between a mechanical keyboard a normal one? As in it will only allow you to press a certain amount of keys at once. As for the actual keyboard it's up to you. I have a Chiclet keyboard that's meant to feel like a laptop keyboard. Only Razer sold Chiclet keyboards that didn't have ghosting problems so I was forced to buy that.

So things like, if you kill the entire T team and then fail to defuse the bomb, those kills were meaningless and don't count towards your rating.
About fucking done, having to rank up my Global elite accounts and SMFC to level 3 to play
Why do I keep betting on NA CS... Okay that's on the list for things I won't bet on ever again lol. Current list: Starcraft Hearthstone NA CS Anything but EU CS VP HoS DotA 2 [editline]21st June 2015[/editline] Guys stattrak MW M9 Ultraviolet for my knife? [editline]21st June 2015[/editline] wow no wtf it's like 180 keys

Thanks navi
Now i remember why i stopped betting. Every time i bet the team i bet on loses
That match between ENVY and Na'Vi was one of the most intense matches I've ever seen, really glad I got to experience that.
They burned themselves out so hard on that inferno match. Both teams.
Oh god..... Remember how I bitched last night about not getting anything.... [t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/518260350916065741/C6BAD556BFE9CB8F8B5F2C0F9EB0E506E5C12CF8/[/t] It's Factory New... And it's stat trak. Makes me happy as kite.
Oh man I so love the operation bloodhound. I think this is the best 5 Euro I've ever spent. Instead of playing one or two hours a day, I now play from the moment i wake up to the moment I go to sleep. Instead of just joining competative and playing it over and over, I get told what to do and it made me love some weapons, I've never used the scout rifle (I know it's named differently in CS GO but you get the point) but now I love it.

Excuse me for the shitty resolution my brother broke my other monitor and I had to drag out an old one.
The road to global elite starts now.

I would recommend another entrance along the outside of it, so you have to watch more than one thing on A site to keep it locked down. And maybe center the Terrorist spawn? it looks like they'll have to take a while to reach A site which would give ct's a ton of time to set up positions I would recommend putting t spawn further to the right to balance it out a little bit
I finish that mission where you gotta kill enemies with their own gun, get seven kills in one game to close it out, and the server freezes. :v: Luckily it just resumed.
While we're on the subject of how the ranking system works. I think it works something like this: for every rank you have an exspected average, during the round you get points as a team and if you win a positive multiplier will be applied, If you lose it will be a negative one. After that it will be applied to your account. If your average reaches a new rank you will gain a new rank, or lose one if you're below the exspected average for that rank. This explains why you can still rank up from a tie or a lose, even if you're bottom fragging. (It happend to me once and our team had a huge amount of points combined), it also explains why ot can take so long to gain a new rank. This is how I think it works, this is obviously just a whild guess but it seems the most logical to me.
