Any half decent account website has shitloads of people who sell preranked accounts already. And they aint expensive. It's a matter of inconvenience. People who will want to smurf or hack on new accounts can still do so, but it's all about getting rid of the few percent who wont anymore, which is a massive improvement over doing absolutely nothing about it.
I know someone who has had like 5 accounts vacced. In the past month.
External script that likely hooked into game to read the speed he was going at. Absolutely deserved.
from a technical standpoint how does the game know you're reading the game values? I heard ESP hacks are hard to detect because while it's cheating, they don't alter the game and just read information.

As for your question ashxu, VAC enumerates all process handles that are created on csgo.exe. AKA it knows exactly what process is touching the game even if that is just reading memory, now this has been said multiple times it won't ban you for this because a lot of legitimate programs hook into the game this way well "hook" isnt the right term but they open handles to the game. (Eg. Mumble/AVG etc) Something as simple as OpenProcess which mosts hacks use to get handles to the game process in order to read memory can allow VAC to detect the process. Now this isn't what gets people banned it's a factor of things like for example Valve adds signatures to their VAC database of a known EXE that is a hack, they hash the insides of the binary and run some other analysis on it. If VAC detects a handle open to the game process that matches those signatures BAM vac ban. I hope this was a bit informative.
Did you not just read what I wrote????
Im agreeing with you but pointing out that its possible to get around fairly simply?
how does running it in a different window change anything if you're still reading the game's memory?
Im agreeing with you but pointing out that its possible to get around fairly simply?
Not by running a separate window no. But you're right it is very easy to get around either 1.) don't publicly release your hack 2.) make it so each run generates a totally different binary file. (For example like Mercy's Polyloader which generates junk code on each run) But yeah Valve said it themselves they don't pro actively seek out to detect hacks and when they do its generally on the big providers like aimware/interwebs/•••••••••• etc. I'm sure you all remember what happened when they started doing more aggressive detection methods https://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/1y70ej/valve_vac_and_trust
if all vac does is read hash signatures that explains why false positives are rare though, makes sense now
how does running it in a different window change anything if you're still reading the game's memory?
As far as I was aware VAC knows if you make changes to the RAM thats being used by a game but I havent been able to find a single mention of it actually tracking reads if its even able to do that.
Just tied a game where the enemy team had a 100 point smurf carrying the fuck out of them. [t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/511504951419257631/3FF4A4DBBA36C474D431601568BCF47AE42E277B/[/t] Funny thing is, we won around 3 round with our own bot while one of our guys was DCed
As far as I was aware VAC knows if you make changes to the RAM thats being used by a game but I havent been able to find a single mention of it actually tracking reads if its even able to do that.
I'm only a info tech peasant (not computer science) but according to cra0kalo's link, processes that are accessing another process need to be checked by the process that is being accessed for permission. Some legit programs access cs:go so the process can't block all programs and by default typically processes have their own allocated memory although i'm not 100% solid on my explanation
This is pretty dated but have a look at what I mean by the hashes they generate from public cheats https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/10798900/DUMPBOX/VACDevsChatLog.htm Zing!
Just looking back over my post and christ I worded that poorly, time to throw the shovel away.
finally ranked up to Silver Elite all thanks to EU East and West servers, i got sick of playing with those gay cykas
thinking i'm nearing the sweet spot for me. Last time I said I played on like 1700 DPI 5.56 in-game sensitivity, now I'm on 1600 DPI 3.7 in-game sensitivity [editline]23rd June 2015[/editline] also if you're shooting at a distance like goose to the place where people peak from short in dust2, should you just burst 1-3 shots or actually try to semi-full auto but control your spray?

(I own one, bought from ebay) Bonus: VACation hypu
Flashcat how many ranks did you lose? My insane rage bet paid off..
I've been in a bit of a slump recently, and I finally got my groove on last night and started demolishing the enemy team, when my internet broke. :suicide: A friend who was still in the game said the other team said 'good riddance' thinking I'd been VAC'd :v: [editline]23rd June 2015[/editline] In that game I got a 4k and then p250 headshot the last guy in a 1v1 clutch. [sp]97 damage[/sp]
;( I got the key for free but still
If it helps, you were never close. The spinner is just for show and it was a worm god the second you pressed uncrate
If it helps, you were never close. The spinner is just for show and it was a worm god the second you pressed uncrate
But it feels like the game is taunting me and trying to get me to buy more keys
But it feels like the game is taunting me and trying to get me to buy more keys
That's the point. More dollar for VALVe
You should see how much Valve makes from the Steam Market on JUST the summer sales like we're talking thousands
If it helps, you were never close. The spinner is just for show and it was a worm god the second you pressed uncrate
The algorithm that chooses the extra images isn't perfect, either - it's possible to see stattrak guns while opening a souvenir box :v:
[t]http://i.imgur.com/hhJTFB8.jpg[/t] Unnecessary as fuck. You end up playing with the people suitable to your skill anyways, so why?
If it helps, you were never close. The spinner is just for show and it was a worm god the second you pressed uncrate
Exactly. After 3 seconds, you may notice that slots are switched instantly.
