In the meantime, a quick survey: How many of you have played the original Star Ruler?
Picked up SR1 a few months after it came out, bought a copy for a friend and peer pressured a couple others into picking it up. Put close to 90 hours into it, though at least half of that was with the Galactic Armory mod.
Good morning, star rulers. This is about the time people should be settling in to work over at Valve corp. and we're just waiting on approval for our expansion's storepage before we start our gambit of information for all y'all.
For the time being, I'm afraid all I can offer is teasers.

Yep, I did.
Seems it'll be a bit longer of a wait than I anticipated before we launch that information (still waiting on Valve to approve the DLC's storepage). As thanks for your patience, have a sneak peak at the new tech. we're bringing to the rendering of planets in the game.

Dying of anticipation.

Selling for $9.99 - and going live in less than 7 days from now.
I'm currently compiling a list of people to contact about the expansion, who I'd be considering sending keys and whatnot to.
If anyone has suggestions on youtubers/streamers/websites that you think would enjoy or would be interested in covering the game, feel free to suggest them.
Scott Manley?
Quill18?
I'm considering giving AngryJoe a shout on this expansion - but I'm concerned the game won't be up his alley. Anyone watch AngryJoe and care to throw an opinion back on that?
Also thanks to everyone putting suggestions on who to contact out. Keep 'em coming! I'm adding all the suggestions to a list and will be going down it tonight I expect.
He seemed to like Stellaris when the devs invited him to play it for an hour or so
A new article for the expansion just went up!
Feature Highlight: Atittudes

In this article we cover the Attitude mechanic and announce the Flagship Experience/Leveling addition.

I mean you could try Totalbiscuit, he's into these sorts of games, he's even said that he's wanted to review your game before.
True. Unfortunately, he later stated that he couldn't figure out how best to play it and then - due to not having a large amount of time to invest into learning how to play it - decided not to review it.
Edit: Flash update just went up on the Steam forums, announcing the new Satellite-type for Orbitals and, in particular, the "Ring Habitat" shown below:
[thumb]http://i.imgur.com/fvftStF.png[/thumb]
These orbitals must be placed in orbit of a planet, and each planet can only have one of each, giving it benefits.
The Ring Habitat pictured above costs a wad of Influence to construct, but increases the maximum population of the planet it is orbiting.
Expansion is officially released. We hope you all enjoy it and look forward to reading your impressions.

This is awesome.
I'm kind of sad your studio is shutting down. Really probably one of the best space 4x RTS's I've played in ages.
Not shutting down yet. What happens from here depends entirely on how well the expansion sells.

Just bought it.
We are presently streaming a multiplayer game with the Expansion for those who want to sit in and watch: https://www.twitch.tv/blindmindstudios

Have you considered putting all the players on a streamed voice chat? Might be a bit more interesting than occasional silence. Just my opinion.
The channel is open but presently it's just me and Lucas in there.
Game completed. We lost by only 76 points! (About the difference in points 1 defense platform would grant)
Bought the game with the expansion, it feels like a huge improvement over SR1 in terms of the learning curve and general overview of what is going on.
I'll definitely be picking up the expansion pack once I'm out of classes in May.
Has anyone made a mod that disables AIs from becoming vassals? It was really discouraging for two equally sized AI empires near me to suddenly become one huge deathblob out of nowhere.
No mod necessary! Put the AIs on separate teams and check the 'don't allow surrender to break teams'. Voila: Nobody can vassalize anymore.
What is a proper counter for a 1.5k murdermachine?
[sp] except for a 1.6k megamurdermachine [/sp]
Depends! What does the murdermachine have on it?
Really liking the expansion pack, the attitudes system is neat.

The graphics update also makes it look way better.
Is the temperature of stars for the Solar farm based on its spectral classification, i.e. red giants are weak, while white supergiants are very hot?
Is the temperature of stars for the Solar farm based on its spectral classification, i.e. red giants are weak, while white supergiants are very hot?
Yep, the color of stars is based on black body radiation for the star's temperature, with some artistic liberties.
