tbh at least if we're shitposting like this theres a lot less room for the usual content which is either really shitty fragshows or idiots being objectively wrong about the game
bruh wanna check my sick frags of me smurfing in silver while being eagle lmao xD
Is Deathmatch/Arms Race a good place to play until you really get the feeling for this game? I find the instant re-spawns allow for more practice, but dont make you play as strategically in the regular modes.
just play mm
there isnt any point in caring about your mm rank tbh, since even being global on its own doesnt mean you're actually any good at the game

You're overthinking things. You can get global and have 0 sense or spray knowledge. Just throw yourself in and play, the rank will adjust on it's own and put you where you are.
if you're trying to soloq to global the most useful skill is to be able to be able to tell jokes which are still funny to people with bad english

Gotta disagree with you, well partly. Ranks mean shit and you should not pay attention to them BUT Going into match making right away is a good way to make you hate the game and get bored of it, You'll lose a lot, you'll die a lot, you'll get matched with awful players with awful attitudes who will shout and scream at you because you're not very good and neither are they. In short there's a good chance that you'll get pissed off with the game before you actually learn anything from Match Making so I'd advise you to stay away from it for 50 / 100 hours.
Play the casual game modes or on community servers. learn the game, learn what is expected of you, learn the maps and the call outs, the buy meta and then go into match making, i guarantee you'll have more fun if you go into it with some knowledge rather than none and the added bonus that is if you do well you won't be stuck in the cesspit with the silvers.
Edit: Just played a game with my mates where we won 16 - 12 and for the first half i never died once, I was the top fragger in both halfs without ever using an AWP, pretty damn chuffed with that. ON the face of it it sounds as though I was saving my K /D letting my team die but i held B site alone and after an ace and 2 4 kill rounds they gave up attcking me, it was always A site and unfortunately the few rounds they managed to take it my team wiped forcing me to go for exits which i got quiet a few. More than made up for my lack of deaths on T side though being an entry bullet sponge.
playing casual isnt gonna teach you how to play though
if people flame you then mute them, you wont be getting useful calls from anyone at low ranks anyway

You can't learn call outs or the "buy meta" (there is no such thing, this isn't league) in casual/deathmatch.
Getting the feel for the maps sure, but even there your perception will be warped since MM and even DM differ a lot.
pretty sure he means economy by "buy meta"
and to prove that you dont even need to play to understand it you can have my handy guide:
round win gives 3200
round loss gives 1400 with +500 for each consecutive loss, capping at 5 losses in a row and a bonus 800 if you lose with bomb planted on t side
planting bomb gives 300
full buy on t side costs 4700 or 4900 assuming you dont upgrade your pistol (2700 for ak, 1000 for vesthelm, 1000 for 2 flashes a smoke and an he OR 1200 for flash smoke he molly)
full buy ct side costs 5500 or 5900 assuming you dont upgrade pistol (3100 for m4, 1000 for vesthelm, 1000 for 2 flashes a smoke and an he OR 1400 for flash smoke he molly, because ct mollys cost 200 more)
an awp costs 4750 and you can replace the cost of the rifle in either of the above to find out how much a full buy with it is on either side (you normally wont have enough for all your nades and an awp though)
in general you will want to eco if everyone is slightly short of being able to buy properly (say everyone has under 3300), and you will want to buy down to an amount of cash where everyone can buy next round
if you are going to need to eco twice in a row anyway it is very worth it to force buy because of how strong 5-7/tec9 + armour is atm
note that it is better to buy a famas/galil and full nades or an ak/m4 and low nades rather than eco if you can do so, but generally speaking you dont want more than 1 or 2 people without nades unless you really really need to get rounds on the board
oh and cts can skip getting helmets if the t side is on a full buy, which saves 350 cash for their buy
With Operation Bloodhound ending today, does that mean I can no longer complete it's missions once it's over? Also, it says I will get a Bloodhound drop with my next rank up. Will that not happen if I don't rank up before this is over?
Operation Bloodhound will probably be extended a bit, judging from all the times it has happened before.

This is completely true. There's nothing wrong with just throwing yourself into MM.
@4yourmalice Now if your goal is just to get better at the game, you should definitely do Fragshack or other FFA DM's just to practice aiming and do some MM's after that. If you're in it for the thrill/fun, just do MM all day.

I don't really feel safe doing so, as sometimes there's an odd Galil, P90, or whatever in the enemy full buy.
I've once had a teammate full buy with a Bison (in LE level)

P90 I can see happening, but a galil would be pretty weird. In general, wether you buy a helmet or not is up to you and is a decision you make on the fly in game. If you have enough for helmet, you WILL pick up a helmet obviously, it's the decision between a smoke and the helmet. Is that a worthy tradeoff? That's up for everyone to decide on their own.

It's not a skill, it's an art form. You gotta pick the right minority to make fun of to make sure your team bands together against 1 common enemy. In retrospect, it's alot like leading the NSDAP.
so if my shitty toaster laptop is chugging this game at wonderful 15 FPS even in the lowest settings is it fair to say "I probably would play better if I had a semi-decent rig" or am I just bad
Can we trade in this thread?

I'm in the same position. Shitty fps, I play okay but I think I'd do better with a good rig.
Yeah, you would definitely play better with a better rig. Ever since I got a new one I have claimed all the way from silver 3 to DMG. With the old one I just kept deranking from SEM.
I've been thinking of buying ESEA.
Those of you who have ESEA, how is it?
Is it playable if I'm around DMG/LE level?
And ofc, is it worth it?

I wouldn't recommend ESEA if you're just going to play PUGs regardless of your skill level. You'll meet even more angry statwhores than in MM. If you want to play more organized matches you should find/start a scrim team.

A 300€ laptop from 4 years ago runs the game at ~30+. Either you can knock down some more settings, or something is wrong with it.

My 3 year old laptop can barely get 12 out of it before shitting itself and dying.

Only if you can find friends to play or find friends there quickly. I bought 2 months of esea, 1 month everything was fine and dandy get matched against the occasional triple or five man. 2nd month I was sick of it because I kept getting matched against 5 man esea open teams and had nobody to queue with myself on esea.
you can't pug against full stacks anymore on esea. it's been that way for few months now. but you will still be matched with 4stacks if you have a 4stack on your team.
I wouldnt recommend pugging on esea, but honestly its the only good pugging system. It's really easy to use and the match making feature is great. I hated how you had to join server and wait for 10 people. oh and i dont think the match making feature actively tries to search you up for same skill range. they just grab 10 people and balance it out afterwards.
mm is really boring for me. you either stomp on other team or you get out skilled like crazy. I havent had a close game in a long time on mm.
Thanks for the responses.
For having my shit kicked in, I'm absolutely fine with that, as, like jung3o mentioned above, it usually happens one way or the other in MM.
I just have one last question:
Was there any more controversy surrounding the client or was the bitcoin mining thing the only one?

It's a rootkit.
Actively scanning your PC at all times and you have to uninstall the driver manually, that alongside it having almost full access to your PC.
Hey guys,
I've got about 18 keys that I need to get rid off, selling them for $2.20 each (via PayPal).
Add me/Send a PM/whatever if anyone is interested in buying
I've got 3 Shadow, 7 Falchion, 4 Chroma 2, 2 Chroma, 2 Huntsman

I just say cyka a bunch and talk in third person
I only really play with Russians on my smurf for fun so I will just be like
"Cyka chiken go B cyka cyka"
And the Russians fucking love it
I thought faceit premium was 3£ but it turns out it's 5£
no way I'm paying that much to see my own elo, if it was a reasonable amount I'd do it for the support (i.e. 5$)
part 2 of that russian guy adventures
