vac waves moves the average
As far as I know, ratings systems are generally made in a way that the average can't move. For one person to gain rating, somebody else would have to lose it. CSGO would be a lot more advanced than that due to having a lot more factors than the simplest of rating systems, but the whole static average thing still seems like a fundamental basis for any rating system. It's hard for me to imagine how a system without that could function well.
vac waves did nothing, if they did do anything it would've been barely noticeable. ranks changed either because valve changed the way things worked behind the scenes or because of influx of players and the amount of time that people have been playing since that influx. if you're playing 10 games a day you've gotta win some of them and those wins count toward rank ups. over time of course the average rank is going to get higher and higher.
vac waves moves the average
It sure as shit is not LE.
It sure as shit is not LE.
yeah it definitely isn't le. le is slightly above average. average is probably mge or dmg

Sure the average skill will fluctuate a bit but it does not go from Gold Nova 3 to LE in what 3 months? That means that there's as many players in the top 3 ranks as there is in the 15 that come before. Never in a million years. It's around the MG Ranks and at a push on a really good day maybe it's MGE. Sorry if i come across a bit passive aggressive that's not my intention.
yeah it definitely isn't le. le is slightly above average. average is probably mge or dmg
I've said this before and I'll say it again: global average rank is probably way lower than what you guys think. DMG, as stated by Valve in a conference, it 90th percentile. I would randomly guess global average is SEM/GN1. This is purely based on the fact that, in Dota 2, the global average MMR is 2.1k, which is fucking loooow. I'm 3.5k MMR, pros are 6k+. But unlike Dota there are no dedicated statistic websites for GO that can actually track this stuff, or at least none mentioned ever, so the fact is we'll never know because Valve will never tell us.
If the people I See around mge DMG rank and what my friends See when playing with le and lem people then I don't even know anymore. Apparently some people who are lem still don't know what an eco round is but who really knows

You can wiki that up and easily apply ranks to it to see the approximate percentage. Anyone referencing a reddit self reported survey should be perma banned for stupidity and be sent on a basic statistics course.
global is the average rank tbh [editline]11th October 2015[/editline] nah it might be a bit below average
I feel really retarded but why for the life of me can I not get a jump throw script working? For example I put this in my autoexec: alias "+ jumpthrow" "+ jump; -attack1; -attack2" alias "-jumpthrow" "-jump" bind "h" "+ jumpthrow" which apparently should work, but I press h with a smoke nade primed and nothing happens no matter what I seem to do... [editline]11th October 2015[/editline] really damn confused

[editline]11th October 2015[/editline] really damn confused
I'm not an expert on scripts, but shouldn't "+ jumpthrow" be "+jumpthrow" (no space)? Also, I assume you formatted it like this in the auto-exec: alias "+jumpthrow" "+jump; -attack1; -attack2" alias "-jumpthrow" "-jump" bind "h" "+jumpthrow" I think it's just the spaces after the +'s that's screwing it up.
i have
alias "+jumpthrow" "+jump;-attack" alias "-jumpthrow" "-jump" bind "z" "+jumpthrow"
in my autoexec, works perfectly

Hmmm.
Started the round with a P250; ended it with chest-hair.
alias "+jumpthrow" "+jump;-attack;-attack2" alias "-jumpthrow" "-jump" stick that in your autoexec and bind whatever you want to +jumpthrow
yeah it definitely isn't le. le is slightly above average. average is probably mge or dmg
I looked around, but apparently it's hard to fetch, so I don't think you can find the actual rank distribution anywhere: actually this image seems to auto-update? it was different on google.
"oh what's that you're a 4 stack? thats fine we'll just pair you with this human-slug hybrid with no arms or sound, enjoy!"
I have some friends that I play with sometimes on my alt account thats a lower rank. If all of us play, its a 4 stack, and most of the time the 5th random we get is not a bad guy. But when its a 3 stack. The two other people are on a whole different plain of mentally challenged people.

They were also the worst players on our team. One of them had 10% of the kills I had, he basically died every time he met someone.
Killfeed and map should be enough, if you're not paying attention to either of those at the very least aim isn't going to get you anywhere
I can't see either of those clearly enough when I'm focused on my crosshair, and my reaction time to getting peeked takes a hit when I do look at them.
I can't see either of those clearly enough when I'm focused on my crosshair, and my reaction time to getting peeked takes a hit when I do look at them.
lets not forget that all enemies have an automatic 'not looking at your crosshair' sixth sense that alerts them the second you're distracted/pulling out a nade
Oh man, just got my 2$ razer mousepad from aliexpress, it feels so better than my old 1$ custom printed one. :excited:
get checked for glaucoma
we already know that altimor is blind as fuck, though i dont think it actually has any effect on him reacting whilst not focusing on his crosshair
get checked for glaucoma
It's not my eyes, it's my brain. I have extremely fast reaction to my central vision and abysmally slow reaction to my peripheral vision.
we already know that altimor is blind as fuck, though i dont think it actually has any effect on him reacting whilst not focusing on his crosshair
nah i have contacts now
we already know that altimor is blind as fuck, though i dont think it actually has any effect on him reacting whilst not focusing on his crosshair
Diagnosing someone's eyesight by their choice of waifu isn't really nice. :v: In all seriousness though you can't really focus on the crosshair AND the radar/killfeed unless you have a setup which brings them close enough for it to make some sense instead of being something on the edge of your vision. Then again I get tunnel vision a lot so I guess I'm not the most trustworthy source.

I want off Valve's wild ride of putting a color coded radar in the portion of my vision with no color.

But if someone does come at the angle you'll fuck em up 100% of the time?
Remember back when he had CRTs you could see the flicker with the corner of your eye but not if you looked straight at it. Means peripheral should have a faster reaction. Anyway, I can just barely see if it was a CT or T kill by the colors in the killfed. They should make it more obvious tbh kinda like your own kills are highlighted
Peripheral is faster because it doesn't travel all the way. Similar to reflex on getting hit, you just react and don't spend any time actually thinking about it. If your brain isn't wired properly however, or you have eyesight issues, you can have problems with reacting to things in your peripheral vision. CSGO really needs a "high contrast colours" option for everything on the HUD if they really don't want custom HUDs.
