This isn't a RTS, you can use whatever you feel most confortable with, it's going to make you perform better for sure

What does RTS have to do with this? This is a serious question. I don't play RTS's.
Honestly I think it does matter. Using a mech it will register faster because you can just ghost over they keys. It's almost like 120hz vs. 60hz monitors.
And it's really surprising anyhow. Never seen a high-level player not using a mech

on RTS you absolutely can't allow your gear to limit your actions per minute, ghosting when inputting multiple commands at once.
On CS:GO though? I really don't see how a mechanical keyboard can be that much better than a high tier membrane one? I mean, if he's confortable with that keyboard it'll be better for him to use that than just playing on a mechanical one and getting used to it.
What I mean is, you press W, you jump (almost all of them jump with their mousewheel anyway), press S sometimes, strafe a bit once in a while but I don't thing ghosting is that big of a deal.
Definitely not comparable to 60hz vs 120hz

I use a 6Gv2 and I absolutely wouldn't switch back to a non-mechanical keyboard, but I don't really but into the masterrace circlejerk, preference is a thing too and there are many good membrane keyboards for sure
