Hey guys, I know I am not frequent in this thread, but I had an idea yesterday and I wanted to ask for some community input. I want to make a steam bot, that would constantly trade up its inventory, some sort of '0.01$' item trash can, and once it reaches covert quality, it would give the skin away, randomly picking a person from the skin donators, based on the price of skins donated to the cause. Taking a look at the community market, there is really no lack of trash skins that literally nobody wants... Do you think enough people would donate/give up their trash skins for the cause to make something like this work/interesting? Rate accordingly (/)
Not a good idea. A covert skin is equal to (10 pink x 10 purple x 10 blue x 10 light blue x 10 grey ) = 100000 grey skins at worst for tradeup. That's a lot of skins you'll have to pool together by MANY players just to give one random person a convert skin of any value. No one will be interested in playing because of that. It takes impossibly long to pool up, and the chances of winning is too low.
[editline]26th August 2015[/editline] though i'm glad valve announced that i can finally complete my stattrak colelction
I live under a rock; what exactly did Valve announce?
StatTrack attachments? [editline]26th August 2015[/editline] ( I don't know either )
While we are talking about prize pools what about this, A Facepunch 100 Club. How it would work is simple. There would be numbers between 0-100 it would cost one key for one number, you can enter as many times as you like and once all 100 numbers are claimed then a random one is picked, if you have that number then you win the skin. This is the one im thinking of raffling off first then the profits from the keys would be used to buy another knife then the same process would be repeated. You are much more likely to get a Knife this way then to unlock from a crate, its always going to be 100 numbers max so if heaps of people want to enter then it wont reduce the chance to get the skin you can only increase your chance. Rate accordingly if you would be interested in such a thing? agree for yes disagree for no.
a 1 in 100 chance for one key is a lot better than trying to uncrate one
My thinking exactly.

How are you going to determine the winners? How are you going to provide proof that the winner was fairly drawn? [editline]26th August 2015[/editline] Also another thing because people seem to think that it's a better chance than opening a case in-game, it is a better chance however, the chance is still 1/100 unless you pay more and even then you aren't guaranteed to win. It's really not worth it because all you stand to win is one of the cheapest knives in game. (the guy most likely picked a cheap knife so he can profit more off the entry fees)

If I dont hand over the skin then I can receive a perma ban, tox that if you want. I would use a random number generator like random.org to determine the winner which is a reputable site. Also this is just a FP thing no need to use a trading site. EDIT: Its just for a bit of fun honestly if your not interested in the skin or the odds then don't enter, all in all its a better chance than unlocking one in game by a large margin.

Besides, it's not about you not handing over the skin, it's about you fairly drawing the winner, how are you going to provide evidence that the winner was drawn fairly? A screenshot is not sufficient and neither is a video you record on your own time. "Its just for a bit of fun" You tried to advertise your skin on the workshop on this same page. You are most likely trying to profit off of people in this thread, if you weren't you wouldn't make the entry amount so high, your knife is most likely worth around 20 keys yet you want 100 keys total netting you around 80 keys profit.

I advertised my skin because I want honest feedback on it to improve further submissions because I enjoy making 3D art, and that has nothing to do with wanting to to a raffle. And yeah I guess some trust is in order with this sort of thing but it seems like your forgetting this is literally a extremely low stakes equivalent of a chook raffle, your acting as if im trying to scam people out of a large sum of money or something when really all im asking to enter is something people bet on 10 cent skins every day. I wouldnt be hosting the raffle if I thought it would cost me the use of a website I have used for years and years, try not to be so jaded FP's community is pretty decent when it comes to online forums.
Come across a guy leveling up a new hacking account on a casual server, so someone on my team starts going through his full range of utilities in a multihack and neither team would kick their hacker because the other team had a hacker. Fucking hell :v:
I had a situation like that too. Except the hacker was on my team, and I and a few others was constantly trying to vote kick him off and most people on my team were too dumb to realize that he would get exp and attempt to get into match making.
<?php Winner = rand(1, 100); ?> :v: this would be bad, I wouldn't risk 1 key for 1/100 chance.

If you really wanted to be nice you would have made the entries (your profit) the same or a tiny bit more than what the knife is worth, wanting the entries to almost be 5x the value of the knife makes you look greedy. To some people with very small inventories, a key is a lot.

And its 2x this skins worth, I figured a better skin could be bought with the earnings for the next raffle and so on. Could make it a 50 club even if thats better but it would mean the next knife wouldnt be as nice as it could.
:snip:
So a friend finally talked me into playing CS GO. How different is it from source and 1.6? I used to play 1.6 competitively, but man that is a long time ago. Any advice to someone that has not played CS in years?
You could always just stream the rolling of the winner, like this:

If you believe that knife is 50 then someone has probably ripped you off.
Does anybody use the Zeus seriously in matchmaking? I've found it to be a really good weapon on ecos, especially after losing the first round. Zap the dumbass who bought an AK/M4 and then use that to go to town on the other team. It's also good because it's accurate while moving so I can just turn the corner when I see their gun peek without having to worry how many times I'll have to shoot before it's a headshot or having to stop. I've turned several clutch situations in my favour with a well placed Zeus, which surprised me since it's usually regarded as a joke weapon. Also stealing an Autosniper with it is the best feeling in the world.
<?php Winner = rand(1, 100); ?> :v: this would be bad, I wouldn't risk 1 key for 1/100 chance.
PHP's rand function isn't even random by the way. :v:
No non-stattrak gut knife boreal is worth >25•keys. If you believe that knife is 50 then someone has probably ripped you off.
Just had a look and your right, we can do 50 club then, better odds and quicker raffles.

Your knife skin is worth around $50 and keys are worth $2.50. Also, sorry for being so negative towards you, I just don't want anyone to get scammed.
I can understand not wanting people to get scammed, if I did something like that in the end I would only be screwing myself over. Might go with a lower amount of keys for the first raffle so the stakes are lower again. Im thinking that a 50 club might be a better way to go, makes the raffles more frequent and better odds for people who play. Its better to have the negative discussion as well as the positive so that we can iron any kinks out. In the end all I can do really is start the raffle and hopefully whoever wins will be kind enough to vouch for me so there is less doubt in the second raffle and build some trust in a FP knife raffle. I dont mean for this to be a huge scale thing just some fun for those who enter.
So I have been making a spreadsheet about my group stats in CS:GO. And here are the results of almost an year worth of data (there are some stats from even earlier but its gathered from old screenshots): https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qLq1dZOIUCPhf73vPeRAIbIEDdZ2Ohbm0wgBo8jad9M/edit?usp=sharing Also I got MGE!
Relevant alternative to unboxing is also this http://csgorage.com/raffles But sadly there's many rich fags who steal all slots. But if you have a time machine you can get rich easily.
Honestly I never liked the concept of paid entry for raffles.
Honestly I never liked the concept of paid entry for raffles.
best raffle I know: Vulcun.com You pay whatever amount of gold you want (you get gold just for logging in every day), it's a real currency. Depending on how much you put into pot - determines your percentage of win chance, allows also free entry but that's usually low chance. If you win item (every 60 seconds) your gold is gone that you put into pot. If you lose, you get back 90% of gold. Pretty good deal if you ask me.
