used to play counter-strike 1.6 competitive a lot, since last week started playing cs:go. no more wallbanging, but a very solid game. (except those skin crates, pretty rigged) can anyone explain the ranking system? It doesn't make sense to me. A friend tried to explain it, but I didn't understand him at all. I would even give a shitty blue skin for a proper explanation.

But from a lot of surveys on Reddit etc. The average rank is around the Gold Nova Master rank range. (If you haven't gotten your first 10 wins, you'll get a 21 hour cooldown every 2 games you win, it's an anti-hacking / smurfing thing)

Lose game, rank goes down. Tie game, rank could go either way depending on your performance.
