People can take the steam guard file from your PC to duplicate verification
That is pretty shit, you should have to re-verify if there is a change in hardware or something.
Does the cooldown system just break sometimes? I left a mm game today and didn't get the "click here to rejoin" thing or a cooldown. There was some specific stuff I did right before leaving, so I think it might be an exploit, but I'm not sure.
It has happened to me one time before. I queued with some of my friends and somehow got put in a game with the wrong people, and when I left I had no option to rejoin, but when I tried to queue again it put me in the correct game. I've also been kicked and rejoined while on a "30 minute cooldown". I think it just has to to with weird timing.
One time I got kicked and there was a rejoin button on the main menu and it reconnected me to the game for like 30 seconds before automatically kicking me out, everybody called me a hacker, it was great.
Also this is a bit old but skadoodle is a fucking monster https://youtu.be/n9D1Fn3U7Mw [editline]9th September 2015[/editline] Ugh forgot about the auto merge time limit being somewhat short
That is pretty shit, you should have to re-verify if there is a change in hardware or something.
Then you'd just grab their hardware config and spoof it
Why don't they just check if your IP has changed and force you to steamguard?
Why don't they just check if your IP has changed and force you to steamguard?
People have dynamic IP's and Proxys and Vpns and that would grow so fucking annoying
People have dynamic IP's and Proxys and Vpns and that would grow so fucking annoying
You're not supposed to be using a VPN on Steam anyway, not to mention, dynamic IP wow so hard to check your email and grab a code.
You're not supposed to be using a VPN on Steam anyway, not to mention, dynamic IP wow so hard to check your email and grab a code.
Just because its easy doesn't mean people will want to go to there email every time to login to there account, Secondly I can bet you steam won't add that feature solely for what I've explained
I am normally a MG1, I have a alt account, put csgo on it and decided to play competitive just to smurf (I know MG1 is not that high of a rank, but I really wanted to try to play with silvers.) Finish ten games, get ranked MGE, lol whut. My supposed smurf got ranked higher then my main :v:
You're not supposed to be using a VPN on Steam anyway, not to mention, dynamic IP wow so hard to check your email and grab a code.
There's no reason to not just make it an option like Steam Guard itself. As far as I know there's no rule against simply using a VPN with Steam.
Just because its easy doesn't mean people will want to go to there email every time to login to there account, Secondly I can bet you steam won't add that feature solely for what I've explained
Did you read or understand what I said at all or not? If your dynamic IP changes every time you restart your PC then that's another thing, and they should make it an option on your account to have Steam Guard make you grab a new code every time you change your IP as Altimor said (I think that's what he said?)
Buts that's the kind of point, That puts more work on the user which is unneeded and steam simply wont implement it because of that
And adding in us having to check our email every time we want to trade something is not? I know it's toggleable but it's still frustrating because people kept falling for steam stealers and having no common sense, just because you think that Steam Guard works doesn't mean it does, you can take the ssfn(?) files and place them into your own steam folder and that allows you to log into their account without a Steam Guard popup. The system is fine? Is that what you're saying? Propose your own idea if you think it is not fine, hardware changes would only work to an extent because of what Altimor said, what's your perfect solution that doesn't add an "unneeded step that isn't user friendly" when Steam has added tons of stuff that's not user friendly. That 7 day limitation every time you add a new piece of hardware is not user friendly, I have had Steam Guard enabled on this account (and PC) for over 2 years, yet I cannot buy stuff from my main account and trade it to my alt account for 7 days, despite having not gotten a Steam Guard popup for this account in over 2 years. Don't talk user friendly if a lot of stuff isn't user friendly in the first place, it's obvious Valve doesn't give a damn about user friendly features.
I dunno about you dude. But being able to steal steamguard auth files should be a real major issue. That shit shouldn't in my opinion work with any other machine other then yours.
Yes it is to provide a issue to just about everyone in the world... It's just NOT become a big of an issue to VALVE to do something since we all know how valve is....
That's the problem in the first place, if these people are stupid enough to fall for downloading malware then there's undoubtedly people out there getting a RAT and having the ssfn(once again, ???) files downloaded from their computer to the host computer, which then allows the host of the malware to log in to steam because there's no popup from Steam Guard, since they're on the account they can then disable steam's email requirement for trades and trade all the items from the stolen account to themselves.
Yes I understand that point already but as I said to Kiwi that until this becomes a big enough of an issue like that bot bullshit, valve is 99% properly not going to give two shits, You don't need to tell me how people go by doing this since I perfectly well know how it's done.
I think that's a major flaw in Steam Guard and that should be a major issue. I get that Valve isn't big on fixing things but that should be a priority. I think everyone should be well aware how easy it clearly is. And again do not click on any links, join any TS or download anything strange as a reminder. If you do don't be an idiot next time and contact steam support and get your account back and whatever they took. As far as I'm is concerned everyone SHOULD be bugging Valve about it.
Even if people bugged them do you think they would do anything, I'm sorry but it kind of makes me laugh since for years valve have had alot of issues before which needed to be fixed and it didn't matter if people bitched or not
The game was doomed but i managed to pull my very first 1v5 with only a deagle
I just lost a game 16-0 and it turns out that our two bottom fraggers were unranked. Both had zero gamesense and I suspect that they were brand new to CS. Why the hell they're being matched with a GNM(me) and two GN3s is beyond me. Meanwhile the enemy team was entirely GNM. The fuck, matchmaking?

Does PayPal count as adding a new payment method? I have funds in my PayPal wallet, but have my card - not my PayPal - tied to Steam. If I add it, will it give me that fucking stupid 30 day ban?
It was 14 days when I added my paypal.
Cheers, I sorted it by just finding my bank details and withdrawing the money from paypal
I swear the comp log mission is impossible. So far every match has paired me with miserable fucks. Just want to do missionssss

This guy in my latest game http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197964845825/ 7k hours, does he have anything else in life than CS:GO? holy.
Aaand, right as people are talking about scamming my friend that i was with yesterday got his inventory cleared through Teamviewer. (how?) I'm trying to help him out, but so far i have only found out that hacker used his teamviewer login information to login to his pc at night from 4am to 6am and did at least this stuff: -Stole all csgo items (worth several hundred maybe up to thousand euro) -Accepted trades through email -Tried to buy bitcoin with paypal This is making me think it was someone he knew, because he is not the kind of person to be scammed and did not install anything new for a long time. Hell we are both on IT course, he is not stupid to fall for cheap tricks or download malware. I suspect three things at this point: -There is Teamviewer account leak going on. -There is an exploit in CS:GO that somehow steals Teamviewer login information (i know there is community server exploit with remote code execution going on, maybe related?) -Friend has a really shitty friend who knows his login.
