You could go get a nice simic event deck (green and blue) then go buy a few RTR block boosters for simic cards.
You could use all of your favorite colors in an Evolve/Scavenge deck. Corpsejack Menace + Master Biomancer, then drop a Prime Speaker Zegana Except that would be pretty hard for a beginner to manage building the deck and piloting it effectively.
Why not use woogerworks for playing on a cockatrice server? Also if anyone ever plays, I usually play modern and EDH over cockatrice. Add me on Steam if you're ever interested in playing.
Ive swapped us to a woodgerworks server, the other one seemed to have lots of downtime.
I hit genesis wave for 21 cards :eng101:
next time warp world for every permanent in your deck
Just wondering, what is Standard and why am I not allowed to use older cards in it? I heard something about Legacy, but I don't see many places running it.
Just wondering, what is Standard and why am I not allowed to use older cards in it? I heard something about Legacy, but I don't see many places running it.
Standard consists of the two most recent expansion sets and 2 Core sets. Standard is currently the Innistrad Block, M13, Return to Ravnica Block, and M14. Standard is supposed to change fairly often and allow for diverse play that doesn't have even time to turn stale. This is in contrast to Legacy which is an eternal block which will always have the same cards from Alpha to the latest release. A decent legacy deck will cost $500+ depending on how you want to play. To start out with Magic, modern or extended is really cheap and fun. Find a friend who will play and split an event deck or starter decks.
I still want to do an fp draft of type two stuff or something since I don't have the ten dollars entry fee for tonights event
I've never played drafts but id be up for giving it a go
signup on tappedout if anyone's interested and then leave your username here
Extended was discontinued by Wizards earlier this month :smith:
Oh I wasn't aware. I guess it doesn't really matter since it was such a tiny format. And for the Tappedout draft, my user name is PropaneAddict
Played Cockatrice with Rexen, got owned but was lots of fun. Everybody else on this thread should start adding each other and playing.
I'm up for a few rounds if anyone wants to play today. Join the steam group.
I'm up for a few rounds if anyone wants to play today. Join the steam group.
Same here. Also, if you don't have M14 cards on cockatrice, download this and link Cockatrice to it in the settings tab: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/107136/cards_all.rar This will add the necessary information cockatrice needs to use M14 cards :)
If anyone is up for a game, I can get one in anytime today really. Just message me on Steam. I like EDH but I'll play standard or legacy with anyone.
As 2nd and I decided last night, it seems m14 is mostly bullshit
As 2nd and I decided last night, it seems m14 is mostly bullshit
Not bullshit, just an all-around awful set. [editline]25th August 2013[/editline] Mutavault, Scooze, and Young Pyromancer are the only decent cards.

The Johnny in me needs to see it be done.
oh yeah shit i forgot about this i'm still down for some tappedout drafting or whatever (and there are some more casual decks i want to recreate and play around with)
As 2nd and I decided last night, it seems m14 is mostly bullshit
Yeah I've been trying to put some decks together around it and I can't you don't get enough for the casting cost. And the slivers are a real disappointment.
M14 was a preparation for the soon to be released Theros set so it seems to be rather shit right now, but in a few months, you'll be changing your mind about a few of the cards; Blightcaster in particular. [editline]26th August 2013[/editline] On another note, I'm up for some cockatrice games today.
someone throw a link out to the steam group and edit a post on the first page with it or something
Join if you haven't yet, let's get some more games going. http://steamcommunity.com/groups/FP-MTG Throw this into the OP

Any reason you guys are using cockatrice over octgn? I used octgn to play with a buddy a while back and the general consensus seemed to be that octgn was the nicest option when I was looking for ways to play online.

No real reason for using Cockatrice. It just works and has an active group.
I was introduced to cockatrice before I knew about octgn. I also use octgn to play Netrunner.
I'm looking for someone to test Standard with, anyone here up for it?
