Sever the Bloodline, possibly?
Or perhaps a lot of board clearers in the beginning to get rid of the useful but weak silvers
i played against my first sliver deck just now
oh my god never again
he just kept giving me this smug look on his face because he knew just how shit he was
does anyone know how to deal with them?
Monoblack with tons of removal, perhaps?

Get one of these out and wait a few turns.
I'm probably going to make a modern mono black control deck that revolves around heavy discarding and using smallpox. Fun stuff.
Also yeah board wipes beat slivers pretty badly if you are going W or B
Beating slivers early before they have time to swarm is key. Still haven't lost to a sliver deck.
What color did everyone chose for prerelease? I'm going White.
I plan on going black. Money cards plus it is my personal color of choice
If I had the money I'd probably pick black.
Black all the way
Black on saturday, white on sunday :v:
Single pre-release 2 xenagos.
Happy bunny right here, since I needed a pair anyway!
Just wrecked my pre-release with Red/White Midrange. Pool was so amazing I could even make a second functional deck out of it.
Chose Black, ended up going G/W midrange armed to the teeth with heroic + combat tricks. Didn't lose a single game, so I went 2-0 for all 4 rounds. Pulled a thoughtseize and a shrine to Nyx, two of the cards I wanted from the set so I'm happy all around :)
Hey so I've been thinking about buying this just to casually play and collect some cards, what do you think? I heard some people moaning that it has last years boosters in it or something, but I'm not too bothered about that really.

Buy it. Good value for beginner, and you are paying like 10$ extra for bunch of some decent uncommons and commons, along with boosters. You also get 80 lands, which helps more then you might think.
If you have more money to spare, buy a fat pack. 9 boosters, and you still get your lands.
Yeah when I was first starting up fat packs were the way to go, after a little while you end up having all the land you will ever need and they come with nice cases to put cards in along with a nice die. The toolkit is fine though, especially for starting up since it seems pretty easy to make a deck with the cards.
Had an odd couple of prereleases, in the first, I got terrible pulls, but great draws in the games, but with bad cards, I lost all but one round. In the second, I had beautiful pulls, but terrible draws, and lost every game. Ah well, better luck next time. I actually lost like, three games, because I didn't realise Thassa could make your creatures unblockable, no matter the state she's in. Should have been easy to notice, but I completely missed it.
I chose white for today, and got Helios in the seeded pack, and then another in the second pack I opened.
I'm very pleased. Plus, I won 2 boosters!
Awww yeah, myself and 2 friends just got the toolkit ordered on Amazon. Thanks for the help!
I pulled a holographic jace, the mind sculptor card. It's worth 100$ from what i've seen, where should i sell it? i'm fairly new to this game and don't think i can use the card to its full potential. I also pulled a voice of resurgance and a heliod god of the sun, i'm going to keep the heliod card but i dont like the resurgance card
Your local card shop should have a land box though mate. Every one I know of does. They literally just give away lands.
Well I didn't win a many boosters today, but I did pull a Thassa and a Purphoros so I'm happy and made money :)
Went 4-0 at my prerelease, got 10 packs and pulled 2 foil bulk rares, a Nylea, Purphoros, and the new Elspeth. Pretty good overall.

Okay, "DeathAngel", new user as of about the time the Rust kiddies started flooding in.
I'm sure you're very mature for your age.

MtG takes skill, planning, and a little luck to win. Most other games just require wasd m1, but MtG requires a mind that plans ahead to win. Why don't you try a match with one of us?
*insert good comeback*
No need to attack "most games" now.
