I've been playing EDH with Derevi, http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/tap-that-24-02-14-1/ She is just so hilarious, especially with token producers out. But right now I've really been tinkering with the new Chasm Skulker, that card is insane and I built a R/U/G using him, Lorescale Coatl, and looters to draw as many cards as I can. I was wondering what you guys think I can do to either speed this deck up, or make it more consistent. http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/lorescale-and-skulker-unite/
We can play EDH on cockatrice if you want. We have a steam group if you're interested.

Also spreading seas + cold-eyed selkie is dirty.

Hey, I'm new to MTG and just bought some cards hoping to get started. I bought a 2014 Green+Black beginner's deck, which came with two booster packs as well (2014 core) and yesterday I bought a 2015 core deck builders toolkit, which comes with like 125 random cards, 100 land cards, and four booster packs from different sets. The only problem is that I'm an idiot and I have no idea how to play, and I tried looking at guides, videos, and stuff but I still have no idea what to do. Can someone please explain how I build a deck from these almost 400 cards that I bought?

One day I'll have every printing of every angel and have them chronologically ordered.

Plus, I already have 8 3 drops, I think I need more ways to protect/clear so maybe I will add Simic Charm, although I wish it was a cantrip so it could serve a duel purpose.
Hey, I'm new to MTG and just bought some cards hoping to get started. Can someone please explain how I build a deck from these almost 400 cards that I bought?
Deck building can be very complicated and takes a long time to get down correctly. For starters, you should probably build a 1 or 2 color deck that uses 20-25 lands depending on the play style. There are a large number of ways you can take your deck but the most straight forward way is to make a midrange deck, or a deck that tries to get lots of nice threats out mid game. If you are trying to make a basic midrange deck you will want to have a good mix of removal and medium sized creatures or just a lot of easy to get out medium sized threats. With a few low costing creatures and a few high end ones that can finish off the game. The low costing creatures are important to either help ramp mana (ie elvish mystics), wall your opponents if they are trying to run a more aggressive deck, or help put pressure on against slower decks. 23 lands might be the most useful number to start with. The removal you use should not cost more than the creatures you want to be destroying it with, otherwise it won't be as useful as it should be. This means cards like Pacifism, Doom Blade, and Shock are going to be very good since at 2 and 1 mana they almost always trade up because they can kill creatures that cost a lot more mana. Alternatively if your color does not have good removal (green usually) then you will want to just pack your deck with more cheap but strong threats since your creatures will usually have a better power and toughness compared to the other colors. Hopefully that helps with some of the basics, if you want me to explain anything else I'd be happy to.
you can only play cards of your commander's colors in EDH
No problem you can run Golgari EDH
you can only play cards of your commander's colors in EDH
not if you have a grn/blk commander
not if you have a grn/blk commander

No problem you can run Golgari EDH
all cards in your commander deck must be in your commanders color identity.
Yeah, but they're saying put that combo in to a deck with a different commander.
all cards in your commander deck must be in your commanders color identity.
thats what they mean...just put glissa on there as the commander and tutor shit
Shame they removed bad reading. My bad
I think I just found the most satisfying game finishing combo ever (also works with any other tribal lord but minotaurs are standard and super cheap). I guess it's pretty boring as far as magic combos go but I just love me some tribal ridiculousness + Having one other more minotaur on the field and casting it on two creatures is already 18 dmg and that's without accounting other spells and lords

Getting it on a Warcaller might be bit of a christmasland, but cloning a Skullcleaver or Rageblood shaman would do a lot as well.
Are the MTG vidya games any good? If so, which is the best?
do you guys trade at all? Would be fun to trade with fellow fp members via mail
Are the MTG vidya games any good? If so, which is the best?
magic 2014 is probably the best right now...the prebuilt decks are all pretty good, and theres plenty of good mods magic 2015 is uh...'okay' the starter deck you pick sucks dick no matter what, and a majority of the cards you get are plain awful while your ai enemies get things like beta dual lands and shit...most of the campaign tactics in m15 involve zerging/burn with as much removal as possible, pretty lame. even with all unlocked cards, deck building is pretty limited...at least until modding comes in, hopefully that can change it up a bit. oh yea, and m15 doesnt have 2 headed giant (2v2) which sucks, theres only a free-for-all mode. a big issue with all of them is that all they do is add in some new campaign and cards from release to release, the ai is practically the same since 2012 (same with the engine and such) it just has shinier graphics and shinier cards. plus m15 has micro-transaction lame shit (like premium packs and individual card foiling)
I bought the MtG 2015 core set and in one of the booster packs I got the Sliver Hivelord. I, obviously, bragged to my friends, and one of them said that they will still die if they get destroyed in combat. Is that true? I can't find any straight answers through Google.
