I bought the MtG 2015 core set and in one of the booster packs I got the Sliver Hivelord. I, obviously, bragged to my friends, and one of them said that they will still die if they get destroyed in combat. Is that true? I can't find any straight answers through Google.
indestructible means they cant take damage so no
Well, there's a few lines on the wiki saying:
Damage accumulates on indestructible creatures, and that damage is removed during the cleanup step.
Is it implying that it's taking damage, just not dying from it?
It does take the damage, it just doesn't die from damage. So if it took damage, then Indestructible was somehow removed, it would then die.
That's why wither and infect still kill indestructible, because they trigger on damage.
That's why wither and infect still kill indestructible, because they trigger on damage.
Also why you want to block lifelinkers with "prevent all damage" dudes instead of indestructibles.
magic 2014 is probably the best right now...the prebuilt decks are all pretty good, and theres plenty of good mods magic 2015 is uh...'okay' the starter deck you pick sucks dick no matter what, and a majority of the cards you get are plain awful while your ai enemies get things like beta dual lands and shit...most of the campaign tactics in m15 involve zerging/burn with as much removal as possible, pretty lame. even with all unlocked cards, deck building is pretty limited...at least until modding comes in, hopefully that can change it up a bit. oh yea, and m15 doesnt have 2 headed giant (2v2) which sucks, theres only a free-for-all mode. a big issue with all of them is that all they do is add in some new campaign and cards from release to release, the ai is practically the same since 2012 (same with the engine and such) it just has shinier graphics and shinier cards. plus m15 has micro-transaction lame shit (like premium packs and individual card foiling)
I'm really disappointed in magic 2015. I thought magic 2014 was a great game and immediately bought magic 2015 once it was available (i.e. pre-ordered and got a extra booster). The user interface of magic 2015 is horrible and the decks you get to play with (at least early on) are no fun at all.
I should probably try Twinflame in my minotaur deck. Getting it on a Warcaller might be bit of a christmasland, but cloning a Skullcleaver or Rageblood shaman would do a lot as well.
The reason it works so well with Warcaller is because it buffs itself as well as the other minotaur creatures, so cloning it actually gives it +4/0. I actually manage to get that combo out pretty consistently and I only run 3x of each Hell, I actually won against a full blown sliver deck today. It was mostly the fact that my opponent got super unlucky with his draws but I am still kind of proud of myself [editline]30th July 2014[/editline]
Are the MTG vidya games any good? If so, which is the best?
If you want to play online cockatrice is great and free. You have to do everything manually though (tapping, damage calculation etc) but I personally like that
if you like playing vs ai forge is pretty nice, its only vs ai unfortunately, but it has pretty much every mode in all of magic, like archenemy and commander
I wanna make a decent EDH deck revolving heavily on the commander but dunno where to start for that exactly. Where can I go for edh deck ideas?
since you dumb me when I try to help you, buzz off
Progress has been made on my casual tempo RUG deck based on Lorescale Coatle and Chasm Skulker deck, and by progress I mean I added a real description so I can validate all of my choices. Although now I am up to 64 cards. [editline]1st August 2014[/editline] Check it out here, I could really use the feedback!
EDH for days Just made a new themed deck I'm having a lot of fun with.
My combo deck got rekt by a steel hellkite. Any help (beside adding removal which I already have)? btw it was a Orzhov lifegain combo deck - chalice of life and extort fattens wall of membranes and ajani's lion friends (don't remember the name) and I have several late-game finishers if needs be (Blood baron of vizkopa, etc.) Edit; And disregard flagdog, I'm currently in Nice, France. Anybody up for MtG?
if you're having problems with steel hellkite your removal is woeful. It gets killed by nearly any black removal, any artifact removal and also gets killed by greens anti-flying removal. Plus it's a 6 drop. Just keep a piece of removal saved for it. I can't remember the last time my hellkite actually saved me from the fire, my meta has way too much god damn removal and it sucks.

I run four in my lifegain deck to counter large creatures and they seem to work really well [editline]2nd August 2014[/editline] But yeah what Empty_Shadow said Side in an extra Revoke Existence or something if it's that much of a problem

Extra removal and discard are added to the table.

Making sliver EDH, commander is Sliver Hivelord (all slivers are indestructable) This is basically first draft, using a mix of cards I have and cards I want. Any crits at all?

this handsome little guy appeared in my mailbox today. I finally have every single arcbound.
I have a few questions about blocking with more than one creature: 1) Who decides what creatures take how much damage? 2) Do you need trample to deal damage to creatures beyond the first blocker? 3) Does the attacker deal its damage to every single target until it dies, or every target no matter what? 4) If the attacker has first strike, does it get first strike on every blocker or just the first one? This has been bugging me for a while and it makes it hard to beat my friend's deck when he has several 6/6 (and stronger) first strike and vigilance creatures out :v:

So if you block a 4/4 with a 2/2 and a 2/3, they can only assign enough damage to kill one creature, and it's up to them which creature gets how much damage. 2) No 3) The latter. All damage happens simultaneously, assuming no first strike or double strike. 4) Every blocker.
I usually hate playing blue but daring thief is pretty much the best thing ever [t]http://www.magicspoiler.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/Daring-Thief-Journey-into-Nyx-Spoiler.jpg[/t] Using him to float mana with springleaf drum and taking control of anything you want is so fun Here is my most recent game (I dont run chasm skulkers) [t]http://i.imgur.com/1X1leGq.png[/t] [editline]9th August 2014[/editline] Oh god I sound like a typical blue player right now

The only problem is that inspired is too UP to really make full use of it

The only problem is that inspired is too UP to really make full use of it
Yeah I just use Retraction Helixes and Springleaf Drums to keep him tapped at all times but if you dont get those and your opponent had good blockers you are screwed Thats where my second favorite ridiculous blue card comes into play. Completely locks down the game because your opponents will be too scared to cast big things [t]http://static.tappedout.net/mtg-cards/_user-added/shadowland-perplexing-chimera-13904522880_medium.jpg[/t] I probably lost to my own chimeras more than I won with them but I love that card because of how bizarre it is. The only safe way to play it is stealing big damage spells and then bouncing it back to your hand
That moment when you cast Cytoshape in response to your opponent casting Detention Sphere on your creature to take one of their own creatures down with it. This card has saved my ass many times. Whether it's copying a big creature as a combat trick or activating a Shorecrasher Mimic, it has proved quite useful.
I've been having problems with even simple removal, since this is a tempo deck I don't want to run too many counterspells. Ignore parts of the description if you do check it out, I've been moving a lot of cards around. It's more versatile than it seems at first glance. Aside from the obvious use of removing big creatures from your opponent's side, you can also use it to upgrade your own creatures, or almost nullify your opponent's removal.
