Anybody got any new card ideas? I've got one Insert Wierd Name 2B Sorcery You may sacrifice creatures to add X to your mana pool, where X is their converted mana cost. You lose 2 life for each creature sacrificed this way.
Sounds like an enchantment. If it really is a sorcery it should probably say something like:
Until end of turn, you may sacrifice creatures to add X to your mana pool, where X is their converted mana cost. You lose 2 life for each creature sacrificed this way.
Otherwise it's not clear when the effect ends, and it implies that you get an emblem or something with that effect.
Roommate bought a MM booster box, I'm sad I can't afford one. I bought one booster though, got a path to exile and Kira, Glass Spinner from the pack. I spent $10 for it and just those 2 are worth $25+ so at the very least I've got some good trade fodder. Anyway, back to roomy, lucky bastard pulled a Tarmogoyf from the 5th booster he opened. Considering he payed 280 dollars for the box and tarmogoyf is worth 160~ he's virtually made his money back if he sells it straight up to some random. And tarmogoyf is probably going to go up in value in a few months after everywhere runs out of modern masters boxes, so he's probably gonna end up making the money he spent on the box back off just one card. I might try and swap a few shifts with people at work and buy some more boosters, I want an arcbound ravager SOOOO bad.
I think better would be As an additional cost to cast CARDNAME...
Huh, that's not at all what he wanted the card to do though?
As an additional cost to cast cardname, you may sacrifice any number of creatures, then add X to your mana pool, where X is their total converted mana cost. You lose 2 life for each creature sacrificed this way. That way it's not open-ended and can't be misinterpreted as lasting longer than one time.

Without the X, the card has no purpose, you're going to be using it. That's just nit-picking though.
I've made myself a pretty good sacrifice deck, it's a bit on the light end with monsters, but it works. Then, one day, I saw a guy play Grave Pact. Holy shit. I must own that.
Grave Pact owns bones and it's an all-star in my Mikaeus deck for wiping the board. [editline]24th June 2013[/editline] well literally any card that interacts with creatures dying is an all-star in that deck, though

Seems broken. Doubling season, or a Vorel Of the Hull Glade, use the emblem on the turn he gets in the field, and then you can play a 1 mana drop, and get an eldrazi from your deck?
Everybody loves Emrakul, and that's an even better way to share the love.
Anyone else excited for Magic 2014 - Duels of the Planeswalkers? :)
Anyone else excited for Magic 2014 - Duels of the Planeswalkers? :)
Never found the games to be that interesting. It's really hard to make this into a video game without sacrificing the whole "construct your own deck" mechanism, which is really one of the things I like the most about it.
If anyone is interested, Magic 2014 is out for iOS. Sealed deck campaign is great, but its too short.

Also doubling season doesn't make every other planeswalker broken, it makes doubling season broken
That promo Scavenging Ooze is soooooo nice. Great alternate art and it's nice'n shiny.
So I was looking at m14 cards and I saw this. [t]http://www.mythicspoiler.com/m14/cards/galeridersliver.jpg[/t] A winged sliver that only affects slivers you control and they REDUCED the cost?
Slivers are bullshit anyway. I find them extremely boring.

Any judges in here with tourney experience? I need difficult answers.
No judges on facepunch I believe. But you can always give us a try?
I know some judges personally, maybe i can convey the question to them?
I can try and help you out, I'm not a real judge but everyone in my playgroup turns to me for answers and I've got a decent grasp on the rules (if it's specific tournament rules though I'm useless to you :P) I'd recommend just posting your questions in this thread, or if you really want a proper judge, go to /tg/ there's usually an ask a judge thread open (if it's the same as last time I was on there, the main guy who runs the thread always makes the OP of each thread with a german version of spell snip as the thread image)
Galvanic Autogenitor's AAJ threads are usually a pretty good place to go for questions.
It's mainly to do with the swiss system at PTQ's with draws and top 8 eliminations. It happens often that players ID (force draw) a round to make sure they both hit top 8, as a draw nets 1 instead of a 0. (Win-draw is higher than win-loss) I'm not sure how this works, since a group could scoop and ID their way to prizes at events? But when you enter the top 8 which are elimination rather than swiss based, how do draws work? I only ask since I'm curious to what would happen when a forced draw deck was played, essentially a deck that forces an infinite-non stoppable combo (ending the game in a draw state) to just mess with places. It's pretty much gaming the system to mess up other people - would this be classed as disruptive play? I'll have a mooch onto /tg/ though, probably the best idea.
Seems to be getting some hate, but I really like it. I definitely want to get my hands on a few when it comes out.

I don't believe that it would be classed as disruptive play, but that's up to the head judge of the event. Source: I'm an L1.
Kalonian Hydra gives me hope that I can build another monogreen deck once standard rotates. Right now almost my entire deck is from Innistrad block. This guy is beautiful.
