Steel Overseer. A fucking monster in any artifact deck.
Memnites are always cool too.
Just made a BUG evolve deck that beat reanimator pretty easy. Cant wait to take it to an FNM
I'm going to a booster draft in Friday for the first time in...years. Any advice?
Yea. choose your color/s and stick with them.
MTG has some of the coolest illustrations I've ever seen

Worst idea. Try to draft ~3 colors near the start based on the cards you are getting so you have room to move around into a different color if the main one you are going for stops giving you good cards. A 2 color deck usually is the most optimal for drafts, and it is possible to splash a small amount of a third color if you want and it will still be really strong. Don't be afraid to hate draft, and just because a sliver is a sliver, doesn't mean it can't be a good card in a non-sliver deck.

This. So much this. Sentinel Sliver and Predatory Sliver have amazing value in a sealed setting because they are easy to drop and one of them has vigilance while the other is a lord if you happen to draft more slivers.

Nay, I think you should pick your commander/champion and start building cards around him. Use only the colour it has and one or two of that colour's "Friendly colours"

I could see Manaweft Sliver being used since it's like a BoP that costs an additional mana.
Oh my god these split cards, holy shit I'm in love. I haven't been able to get any of the new packs since RTR because I've been out of town or kinda forgot about the releases for a few months, oh my god, these are the best thing I have ever seen.
I won a game during the DGM prerelease with Toil // Trouble, it was GREAT.
Do you guys think a combo-built legendary creature like Exodia from Yu Gi Oh would work in MTG?

There's kinda sorta one in one of the un-sets.
Promised a friend i would start playing again. What do i need to know to get started again?

Power curve skyrocketed with RTR.
They did their best to level it with M14.
Jund is (in my opinion) the most powerful deck in standard. It mops the floor with Junk re-animator, (most) Naya decks, can overpower Bant Hexproof.
The Buddyland/Shockland cycle made non-monocolored standard decks using basic-lands a thing of the past. Also, mono-colored decks are not viable in the current standard.
If you're looking for pure fun, EDH is a hell of a drug.
i got nicol bolas in a deck builder :D

Red Deck Wins, Big Red, and Bears and Wolves say otherwise!
i got another addition to my mill deck. Mind grind
That card is so stupidly good at what it does.
my mill deck is like 100 cards i can never be outmilled
Do you guys think a combo-built legendary creature like Exodia from Yu Gi Oh would work in MTG?
there are a few sets of cards in MTG that are kinda like that. The Unspeakable, Kaldra equipments and Herald cycle from shards of alara are the examples that come to mind
my mill deck is like 100 cards i can never be outmilled
that's probably the only way to make a mill deck even worse than it already was, nice werk
have Liliana to get the emblem for 4 b mana + consuming aberration + mind grind and any other good mill cards = no deck is safe from the graveyard
my mill deck is like 100 cards i can never be outmilled
Jesus Christ. I made a mono black deck that relied on stacking silly amounts of lifetap, graveyard control, and demon transformations, it required too many cards to be effective all the time, but it was still like 75 cards. You might have an issue.
Our local group has only recently started playing modern as we're still a fairly new group, and there are tonnes of mill decks. Just to annoy them, I put a Kozilek, Butcher of Truth into every modern deck I have. Just one, so unless they can exile my graveyard before he comes down, I'm effectively mill proof, and if I get him in a hand, I can just discard him, or if the game goes long enough, I can get him down and do some damage.
I wish Vampire Nighthawk would be brought back in. I don't want to make a deck around it which then drops out of standard in 6 months.
Also do you guys ever play online?
I play exclusively online, as do a few other people I know.

This is basically the reason I include Leyline of the Void in just about every mill deck I make.

When you say online do you mean the MTG official website or something else?

It rotates out Sept 27th, so that's even less time.

Probably means MTGO or Cockatrice.
