The 360 could run it, there's barely a difference between the PS3 and 360. The problem is because the game is optimised for the PS3's cell processor it would run pretty badly on the 360 without a decent amount of extra development time.
Last I heard, 360 does play games slightly better than the PS3. This is coming from a Playstation fan btw
The wait is killing me...
Anyone gonna be buying on psn?
Yeah I did for like a couple of quid thanks to a random £38 I got, been there for ages and they haven't removed :v:
Last I heard, 360 does play games slightly better than the PS3. This is coming from a Playstation fan btw
It's all down to what developers are used to. Multiplatform games usually run better on 360 because they're designed for x86 architecture (microPC or some shit I dunno) and ported to PS3 with no real optimisation. a game made for a 360 first will run worse on a PS3, but a game designed for a PS3 could still run well, though not as well, on a 360 thanks to optimisation. Provided the devs bother to optimise it. Of course with the PS4 and Xbone it'll be a non-issue. Both run on x86-64 architecture but, by all accounts, the PS4 is just better. Faster clock speed, more available RAM, faster RAM, all good stuff.
i had the ending of this game spoiled to me because i was an idiot and went on /v/ :(
Nooooo, I can't believe the world ends up burning up as Ellie is taken by aliens. Okay didn't happen. :p
I just found out about story co-op. Did I miss this or did my source spill something that wasn't released? :v:
I just found out about story co-op. Did I miss this or did my source spill something that wasn't released? :v:
You definitely didn't miss that. Elaborate?
You definitely didn't miss that. Elaborate?
Oh god I don't know if I should now, you made me paranoid :v:
Oh god I don't know if I should now, you made me paranoid :v:
Can you at least give us the details without naming your source? (but say how reliable the source is) You can't drop something like that in here and run off man! :v:
Can you at least give us the details without naming your source? (but say how reliable the source is) You can't drop something like that in here and run off man! :v:
Well he's a friend of mine who also happens to be a manager at Gamestop, and when I told him I pre-ordered the game, he said, "Do you have a mic? I'll be Ellie or Joel, I don't care, but we'll totally do co-op." For all I know he might have been mistaken about the multiplayer but he said Ellie and Joel and I don't think they're playable in the multiplayer that was revealed...
Yeah I think it's more likely that he's just not aware that there's no coop :v: I don't think it'd work too well with coop anyway, saying the game builds on the relationship of the characters and is heavily story based.
Well now I feel like an ass Sorry for freaking people out :v:
Super Bland? Care to elaborate? While it is a third person shooter, it seems like a breath of fresh air in many ways. No regenerating health limited ammunition easy to be killed Not another War shooter or emphasis on tacticool guns Zombies are overplayed, but from what we've heard they share the spotlight and are supposedly pretty scary, which is an approach not taken to often in Zombie games. Just curious is all. Every has different tastes, but to say the game looks bland is hard for me to conceive.
gameplay elements =/= re-playability/long-lasting effect you'll be wowed and impressed through your first runthrough and then never touch it ever again
gameplay elements =/= re-playability/long-lasting effect you'll be wowed and impressed through your first runthrough and then never touch it ever again
seeing that you've played through it and are clearly confident in that opinion can you please tell us why we'll never touch it again (even with unlockables and new game+)???
There is no story co-op.
gameplay elements =/= re-playability/long-lasting effect you'll be wowed and impressed through your first runthrough and then never touch it ever again
Yeah, and? Not every game needs to be infinitely replayable. If it has like 17 hours of gameplay, it doesn't really need to be very replayble.
gameplay elements =/= re-playability/long-lasting effect you'll be wowed and impressed through your first runthrough and then never touch it ever again
You could say it's similar to Uncharted, more of a movie experience than a game and that's perfectly fine if it's 10-15 hours of excellent gameplay and gripping story. However, several months/a year later I played through Uncharted again and it was still fantastic so, I expect much the same with this game. Granted I may not play through it again right away but no doubt I will again at somepoint and it'll still be amazing
you'll be wowed and impressed through your first runthrough and then never touch it ever again
That tends to be the case with story driven singleplayer games. We all know this, and no one here is worried about it.
There are no spoilers out right? I think I stumbled across one but I don't know if its true.
Anyone know who [sp]Tommy[/sp] is? If there is any sort of co-op it might be with Joel and [sp]him.[/sp] Also I learned of his name from the [sp]art book. From the Joel Edition unboxing video. As there were young versions of both, and both survive long enough to become old.[/sp] Maybe [sp]he[/sp] might be like a [sp]surprise game mode[/sp] character.
There are no spoilers out right? I think I stumbled across one but I don't know if its true.
We don't know for sure so just keep your mind at rest and say that all potential spoilers are not true.
is there any chance of this coming to PC or even xbox? I really wanna play this game.
is there any chance of this coming to PC or even xbox? I really wanna play this game.
No, financed by Sony and I honestly think it's one of those "system sellers"
Some idiot posted the ending on one of the old gameplay videos, as i was scrolling through the comments i seen it ;(
I'm gonna have to be really careful over the next few weeks.
is there any chance of this coming to PC or even xbox? I really wanna play this game.
Funfact: The last non-Playstation title Naughty Dog made was Way of the Warrior for the 3DO in 1994.
Not sure how many of you have heard this. Dr Awkward is a good buddy of mine, check out this hip hop song he made dedicated to The Last Of Us. Naughty Dog and Sony shared this a few times I believe.
Does this use the same engine as the Uncharted games? My internet was too slow to play those online (lol) so it'll be kind of disappointing if it's the same with this.
